Pain on MJ?

Hi, so yes, I will go to the GP etc but in the meantime, want to get an idea of other's experiences. Especially anyone doing ADF on MJ?
Ive been on it since March. Very little side effects. Only recently moved up to 5mg. Over the last week or so, i get upper tummy pain pretty much every time I eat. Not massive pain, just dull and almost always there. It's worse when I eat but happening even on fasting days.
I was supoosed to inject on Sat but I didn't, hoping this will fix it. So far, not...

Anyone had similar?

Have you tried antacid like Rennies/ Tums or Gaviscon? Esomeprazole would be a stronger medication if they don't help.

All available at the supermarket, pharmacy, Amazon, etc. No need for GP without trying these unless symptoms worsen.

Yeah, should have said, rennie doesn't make a visible difference

It’s a sign of pancreatitis so I would be watching carefully and definitely contacting the GP if it doesn’t improve soon or if it gets worse

I would try to get some Esomeprazole today. It can be effective very quickly, as it sounds very much like an excess acid problem which can lead to an ulcer. (I've had this 3 times, so the symptoms sound very familiar.)

I wouldn't expect pancreatitis to be a dull pain as you described, but people do present differently.

Thanks all, pain seems better today as I am fasting (and also didn't inject on Sat). I'll keep monitoring.

Maybe 5mg was too much for me, I was fine on 3.75. I just increased as the weightloss had slowed down a bit... maybe i got greedy
Also don't think it's pancreatits as the pain is meant to be intense and more constant.

I truly hope you are improving, but honestly, you've said yourself that it hurts when you eat. This is likely because your stomach is producing too much acid, especially for the reduced amount of food you are probably eating on MJ. This excess acid is damaging your stomach and will likely eventually lead to an ulcer. The pain then will be far worse and can become very serious.

Nexium Control is the main brand of Esomeprazole 20mg that's widely available for about £12, but I tend to buy slightly cheaper ones like Guardium or Perrigo on Amazon for £9 or so.

If you don't get the medication, you should at least keep up with the Rennies if you still have them. It will probably work eventually or at least take the edge off it.

Bizarrely, I now recognise my early symptoms as a feeling of fullness, high up in my stomach, especially when I've not eaten due to fasting. Also burping more 🤢.

ADF can complicate any GI symptoms you are getting with MJ. Why did you choose this approach alongside MJ with a 5 day half life, as they don't sound particularly compatible?

My acid and discomfort increases if I don't eat, or if I eat to much so ADF would be a nightmare for me!

With the dose increase probably further slowing of gastric emptying, if it was me, I would consider stopping ADF and work on smaller frequent meals, perhaps try 16:8 instead if you feel you need a structure.

Still see you Dr so he can examine you, and possibly also speak to your provider for advice.

ADF works fine for me, I get along with it very well. Or did so far. I definitely feel better on fast days then when I am eating ( I don't mean just about the pain, I mean in general, since I started). I also did ADF before MJ and it worked just as fine, the trouble was sticking to it when life happened. With MJ, I managed to stick to it during massive amounts of both personal and work stress. (Which happened recently so maybe they also contributed yo my current issue)

But you are right, if this doesn't get resolved I will try a break from ADF too as a reset is always good anyways. See if it helps.

In any case, in my mind, I am doing ADF with some MJ on the side rather than the other way around so if I had to give one up permanently it would be MJ.

Sidenote OP as it's probably the MJ but just in case. Are you recently taking iron or magnesium as supplements? Both gave me horrible upper tummy pain after eating. The magnesium was particularly awful, I thought I had a stomach ulcer it was so bad.

Pain on eating can also be linked to the gallbladder. Keep an eye on it.
