@MJalltheway why did you go back to Voy? I kept thinking I should move as they’re more expensive and I don’t really use the coaching.

I don't really use the coaching any more either but I do use the food scanning almost every day. I like the little 'lessons' too about forming habits, prioritising protein etc. and they gave me a big discount for the next couple of pens when I cancelled.

BlueLimes · 21/07/2025 19:55

@MJalltheway ah maybe I should cancel !

discov · 21/07/2025 20:07

Did my first 10mg last night and feeling good today! I definitely think it’s what I need to get back on track and lose this last bit of weight.

I have drank loads of water today, and had no urge to snack or eat sugar at all. I couldn’t actually finish my tea which isn’t ideal, but I did make sure I ate the protein first. I have an ingrained habit of eating in worst to best order, which obviously doesn’t work very well on MJ if I’m too full to eat the best bit 😄

I am feeling positive anyway. I have done an actual meal plan this week and have a Morrisons click and collect booked for tomorrow. Which is great progress seeing as I’ve spent the past few weeks just buying ‘bits’ every few days and just eating whatever (ie not prioritising protein and eating way too much carbs and sugar and drinking black coffee instead of water). Hopefully I’ll start to feel the benefits soon!

myladyjane · 21/07/2025 20:32

@discovI eat like that a bit too much. Not having anything in, picking, not eating. This week we are operation Freezer empty so I’ve gone through and done a meal plan to use the bits up and suddenly I have a nutritionally balanced week. The only issue I have is I can’t be arsed to eat everything I have planned. It’s nice enough food but I’m just a bit bored of eating. That’s where we always go wrong with meal
planning in this house.

we have discovered a metric tonne of ice cream. Big chest freezer, lots of bags of peas for them to get hidden under. Both dd and her bestie are having boy problems so bestie is coming round to watch rom coms and have a tub each in time honoured teen girl fashion. It’s more help than I was expecting tbh.

discov · 21/07/2025 20:59

@myladyjaneyes that’s exactly how I feel. In the past I got into the habit of buying ready cooked salmon, mackerel and bags of salad so I could just chuck stuff together then at least I was having something healthy when I couldn’t be arsed. So that’s my plan for this week too.

Well done to dd for being so helpful and eating the ice cream 😄

DGonMJ · 21/07/2025 21:39

Well done on operation Freezer Empty@myladyjane we’ve finally ordered a new frost free fridge freezer. Cannot wait to empty all the old crap out of the current freezer (20 years old)!

In fact I don’t know what’s wrong with me and spending. After being unable to buy anything for the past 6-7 months I am now unstoppable. Bought some teva sandals after seeing a recommendation on MN. Just ordered some new Vivobarefoot hiking boots, ahead of our holiday, after the old ones got a hole in them Easter last year. Bought some new eyeshadow in the SpaceNK sale, after scraping the dust out of my current palettes for the last few months.
The M&S underwear and shorts splurge.
And all the Whistles purchases over the last 4 weeks. Hitting target weight has unleashed a shopaholic 😳

Glad you’re feeling positive on the increased dose! Onwards and downwards.

Jins · 21/07/2025 22:02

Ooh I love my Tevas @DGonMJ. I’m always glad when summer comes around and I can dig them out again.

I need someone to finish the mango sorbet in my freezer that I seem to have formed a mild addiction to. I mean better than ice cream doesn’t cut it nowadays does it?

MissPobjoysPonies · 21/07/2025 22:11

Making sure I’ve found you all

BreezyPeer · 22/07/2025 07:35

Morning losers! Xxx

PenelopePerseveres · 22/07/2025 07:48

Morning all. I hate freezer emptying season 😂. In fact I’ve turned my big freezer in the garage off and rely on my built in one these days.

I’ve joined a new Pilates studio this week and bought a three class a week membership. Looking forward to that tonight. I’d been going to a different place before I went on holiday but the capacity was small and I couldn’t get onto the classes I wanted to so fingers crossed this is different.

Well done @discov , that’s the only way I seem to manage with my loss of interest in food shopping.

MJalltheway · 22/07/2025 08:10

Morning losers! Oh now you've all made me think I should empty out my freezer too 😩 I hate doing that job!

Weighed this morning and all measures are back to normal so the increase after holiday must just have been a blip. And, I'm down into the 70s now! My final goal is 70kg so that suddenly feels very very close.

Do you do reformer Pilates @PenelopePerseveres ? My DD really wants to try that but individual classes are so expensive.

@Jins I keep seeing recipes for mango chia pudding made with frozen mango, I need to try that one day. Surely just as good as mango sorbet?!

Jins · 22/07/2025 08:40

I fear that mango chia pudding would tip me into ‘too much fibre’ in just one bowl but it does sound amazing. I’ve had some wicked cravings for fruit while on MJ and as it’s off limits yet ice cream is ok I’ve played the ignorant card and gone with sorbet. About 100 calories per serving sounds ok but I count carbs and 30g is not great.

The DSs fill the outside freezer with free stuff they pick up at work so it’s always exciting to go through it. I pulled 4 packs of casserole lamb out yesterday so my slow cooker will be in action today. I spotted a big joint of beef in there as well. It’s one of the perks of having the two of them in the food industry.

Loads of suppression today which should help with my blip in weight. I’d love to get to goal this month but it’s looking a bit elusive

MJalltheway · 22/07/2025 09:03

How much do you have left to get to goal @jins?

2025istheyeari · 22/07/2025 09:34

I really fancy reformer Pilates too but can’t find anything nearby. Now I’ve finished work I need to seriously up my fitness game, but we have a mini dachshund and while we were on holiday she had an emergency overnight vets stay and still isn’t right, she’s very clingy, not allowed on walks, so at the moment I’m sitting with her on my knee, exercise taking a back seat! Was supposed to have a big interview tomorrow but feeling rubbish so have had to ask if we can rearrange, not ideal but I don’t actually think I could make it into London!!

in better news I weighed this morning and seem to have lost 3 pounds since pre holiday weight!! I got on and off the scales 4 times to make sure. I’m astounded! All that walking seems to have worked its magic!! If it’s right, my stats are:

sw 16 stone 4
cw 11stone 5 (24.2 bmi)
gw ? Was originally 11 10 which is 25 but now thinking 10 10, bmi of 23?

I was due a weight verification call with Oushk on Friday but because of the height faff I’ve asked if we can just roll it into my maintenance call on 19/8, I have one 10mg pen left which I’ll start next weekend and that should see me through to the call. Hoping I will be at or very close to my revised gw then although I’m away in Portugal for a week but that will be eating lots of fish and hopefully swimming lots!

have a good day losers!

discov · 22/07/2025 09:56

@2025istheyeari sorry you’re not feeling well! I’ve woken up with a terrible sore throat and have been headachey the past 2 days too. Well done on your loss though, that is great.

We have a reformer place opening in our town soon but I think it’s well out of my budget! I am tempted to go back to hot yoga though as I used to love it and is a bit more friendly to my bank account 😄 I know of three reformer studios opening within a 30 minute drive of me very recently so I think they are starting to pop up all over the place now. And I’m in Bradford too so not exactly a fancy cosmopolitan place! Hopefully something opens up near you soon too.

Jins · 22/07/2025 11:09

On Friday it was 1.2lbs @MJalltheway and today it’s 2.4lbs. It’s been the same for a few weeks really but the general direction is downwards.

It’s just stupid really. I’ve had 9st as goal since I started and I can’t get past it. It actually makes no practical difference at all whether I stay here or hit goal but I feel if I see 9st just briefly I’ll be happy doing what I’m doing

edit: I’m a former mini dax owner @2025istheyeari so I totally understand why you’re stuck. We lost him in 2021 rather unexpectedly and I suddenly seemed to have twice as much time. Lovely loyal dogs but ours was really hard work.

PenelopePerseveres · 22/07/2025 13:38

Sorry you are not feeling well with a poorly dog @2025istheyeari and @discov too.

I’ve joined a regular Pilates studio. I do do reformer but that’s the place with fewer places and I struggle to find something that fits with my work schedule. I can drive 10 miles to a big reformer studio but by the time I have factored in traffic and parking it turns a 45 minute class into 2.5 hours which I can’t really justify.

Then there’s the cost as you have pointed out. £20 a go for a reformer class vs the equivalent of £7.50 a class for a monthly membership if I go 3 x a week.

I used to have a reformer at home but I sold it when I was ill. I’m hoping to move house this year and will see what I’ve got room for once I’ve moved, I may get another one, unless I move to a local town which has a great reformer studio. I’m inclined to go out for classes tbh, I enjoy the social side of being in a class.

myladyjane · 22/07/2025 15:23

I hope poorly people and pups feel better soon.

@MJalltheway looks ok at you in the 7s.

interesting re reformer Pilates. My mum is a Pilates fan (normal) and we have a reformer place opened up 5 min drive from me so I did try to enquire but didn’t get a response. I am more of a yoga girl and one of my ‘back to school’ resolutions is to try and find some sort of class, either Pilates or yoga to join. I need to expand my social horizons a bit I think so want to find a friendly non cliquey class I can get to despite work. Not easy.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 22/07/2025 16:20

I have tried numerous times, but yoga and pilates are just not my thing. Especially the part in yoga where you're supposed to relax - I don't do that kind of stuff 😂

2025istheyeari · 22/07/2025 20:16

Thanks @discov, @Jins, @myladyjane and @PenelopePerseveres . Hope you feel better too @discov, seems to be lots going around.

@Jins sorry to hear about your mini, they’re part of the family aren’t they, but yes def high maintenance!

On the reformers, Aldi had a special buy machine in a couple of months ago but it sold out super quickly. We live in a small village and even getting a place at a normal Pilates class is tough but hopefully something will come up!

PenelopePerseveres · 22/07/2025 21:13

I read somewhere that the Aldi reformers had been returned en-masse @2025istheyeari so worth looking into why if you are thinking of taking the plunge. I don't remember the details.

I actually drive to another local town for Pilates but it is a traffic free route and takes me about 20 mins each way. I don't mind the drive, helps to clear my head.

The classes in the place where I live are literally everywhere, there must be six or seven different providers, instructors hire halls here and there and the council run gym offers classes too. Very few are after 6:30pm or at the weekends though.

By going to a dedicated studio the class times seem to be endless and there are actually spaces on the classes. This week I've been tonight and booked on for Friday first thing and Sunday at 10am, next week I expect I'll choose different days/times.

BreezyPeer · 22/07/2025 22:49

@2025istheyeari @PenelopePerseveres
My (small) town has at least two different pilates/yoga instructors often working from the same hall at different times 🤣
I've picked the younger, swearyier one- we get along well! She also does online strength classes 3 times a week which I enjoy ( but need to pick up again 😅)
Interesting to hear the picture in different places!
Had yet another person I haven't seen in a while comment on my weight loss today. Feels so much more real somehow 😂 I don't know why when I am literally living in a smaller body.

MJalltheway · 22/07/2025 23:35

@mince3point14159265 just got back from Billie and she was absolutely brilliant! Well worth a 5 year wait 🤣 Finneas came out too so youngest DD was very happy 😊
