MJ side effects support

I am on MJ WK2. I have no real side effects last week (just some tiredness) but this week I was throwing up last night, sulphur burps, and diarrhea this morning. I have only had a cracker today as yet (and sips of water). Any tips to alleviate the symptoms and prevent them coming back? Do the side effects settle down, or can I expect them to keep returning? Any personal experiences/tips/etc would be welcomed.

It sounds like you're doing all the right things. Side effects usually do settle down. I haven't had any for many months now, including when I went from 7.5mg to 10mg.

You could also think about if there's any specific foods that seem to trigger it, not even fatty/sugary/processed carbs, but just something that's specific to you. I noticed that I had digestive discomfort if I ate a certain vegetarian mince that I used to eat regularly, but now seems to disagree with me.

Good to know that the side effects do settle. I am still on 2.5mg so a long way to go.

I've been similar to you, no side effects significantly with W1 but jabbed on Sunday and woke this morning with an upset tummy.

Has yours settled down now? How long did it last?

Omg so YES. Pepto Bismol is THE treatment for those horrific sulphur burps it completely stops them the only thing that will. In fact you can’t surely be on MJ without a large bottle of that in your bathroom cabinet.

Mounjaro stays in your system so your second week of jabbing 2.5mg meant you still had a bit of last weeks in your system hence the side effects this week and not last. I had exactly the same problem my second week of jabbing 5mg. My advice would be to stay hydrated and use electrolytes, eat tiny amounts of bland food and ride it out. Your body does get used to it in the end. Ive been on Mounjaro for 16 months now and I’m still only on 6-7mg a week and loosing weight. My body can’t cope with jumping up the doses too quickly.

Thank you! That makes total sense, I'd read it but clearly not thought about it until this morning 😂 .

Second injection of a new dose is always the worst for side effect. Throw all the medication at it to get it under control, inmodium, rehydration sachet and antiacids.

Hi OP, to warn you, I had severe vomiting and diarrhoea for over 2 weeks. I didn't take the medication in the second week of having side effects-but the symptoms carried on. This was wk3 on 2.5mg.

I have taken a long break as I couldn't put up with those side effects and work. I'm hoping to start again at the end of this week as have the summer holidays to hopefully 'get used' to the medication and side effects to dwindle.

From what I have read, what you eat is very important. So the days leading up to injection, eat lightly and clean. That's the advice I've been given anyway.

I'm excited to start again, but very nervous. It was so bad I couldn't leave the house. But I really want this to work as I've got significant weight to shift!

Good luck

You might be super sensitive to it, so don't expect to go up the dose strengths! I stayed on 2.5mg for my whole journey and lost 5st. As others have said, keep up with the fluids and avoid overeating/fatty foods. For the first month or so I ate very plain food think fish and veg. Focus on nutrients and protein. I used some high protein shakes in the early weeks which were brilliant.

I was ok after that night... Had my 3rd jab yesterday and ok till now... One key change that I realised I hadn't done that day is to drink drink drink... Really upped my water intake and if I feel the slightest bit of sulphur burp I drink 2 glasses of water or so
