Has anyone restarted Mounjaro after stopping at target?

Just that really.

Got to target in February, stopped MJ in April and have maintained with diet. I’ve started a lot of new exercises and whilst the scales fluctuate a kg in either direction, my hunger is insane, I get food anxiety, my blood sugar is all over the place and my joint pain (which disappeared in MJ) is back so bad I can barely move with strong pain killers. I feel really fat again and can see visible far around my stomach that I did t have a couple of months ago.

I have spoken to my prescriber today and they are happy to offer a 2.5mg maintenance dose. I think I am going to go for it.

Has anyone else done this?

Thanks in advance

Not in the way that you have. Firstly I’m in my 20s and healthy, and used to be slim, so generally speaking I can maintain it on my own. I didn’t feel Mounjaro made any other health issues better, because I didn’t have any other health issues. If anything, I felt worse on MJ because I was constantly thirsty and my heart rate was higher.

I was regularly taking MJ between August and mid January, then stopped as my BMI was around 22. However I ordered extra pens when I was taking it regularly, so at that point I had 5 unopened pens in the fridge.

So what I have been doing in 2025 is a loose/unofficial maintenance. I take MJ sometimes when I want to. I don’t take it regularly, so if the pen has been opened for longer than 30 days I bin it even if I haven’t finished it. I have gone like 2 weeks to 2 months between injections. Whenever I take it after a break, my body tolerates it well (as if there has been no break).

Anyway I have 1 unopened pen left, and will hopefully never be eligible for MJ again, so this will come to an end soon.

There is an ongoing maintenance thread, There maybe some on there that are in the same position.

Yes I order every so often, I put on a stone take it off put it on, etc etc. I found the last time my eating was insatiable. Put on weight fast. I lose it fast too tho. Maintainence dose is good, idea above of keeping couple of pens I like, may do this so save hassle of reordering and order process. I have done to conclusion that I will use mj for life. The benefits for me really outweigh the cons. Lost 4 stone and for me it was life changing. I won’t go back to that.

My scales this morning are the highest they’ve been post stopping at 60.85kg. I am pre menstrual and swollen with swelling though. I’ve been maintaining at 59.5kg.

im managing the eating well but it’s the constant good noise back and random blood sugar crashes that I dislike. My partner said to sleep on it but I’ve made up my mind. Going to order a couple of pens and go from there.

Thank you for your replies ☺️

I stopped 3 weeks ago and whilst I have been able to eat healthily, and don’t find myself getting that hungry, the food noise is back with a vengeance. I’m a bit surprised, I thought that I would feel hungrier but not have the desire to snack/eat crap but it has turned out the other way.

not sure whether to go back on a low dose or try to ride it out.

I lasted a fair few weeks managing fine. Thought I’d cracked it until the last couple of weeks. I don’t think I’m eating more but the weight is creeping back on already. I’m exercising so much, not really snacking but my stomach is big and over hanging again. Will finish my consultation tomorrow with pictures. I definitely want it back at a low dose.
