Is Wegovy a bit crap compared to MJ?

My sister and I both started WLJ 10 days ago. She chose MJ, I went for Wegovy (because it was cheaper!).

She’s lost 5lbs and her appetite. I’ve had NO change at all! I still think about food alllllll day but probably can’t eat quite as much.

Should I swap to MJ? I have 2 stone to lose and can’t really afford to spend months paying £200. I’d like to get it done asap.

MJ does have higher success rates according to the stats, according to my nurse cousin.

I really don’t know the difference between the two or how Wegovy is supposed to work. I would stick it out this month as you already have it but probably switch next month to MJ. It’s worked like a dream for me, incredibly minimal side effects and the weight really has just fallen off me with ease. I know people
say it’s not easy but I’ve found losing weight incredibly on MJ.

Mounjaro isn't £200 a month, I've just paid £135 for my next 10mg pen. Have a look at https://monj.co.uk for a price comparison list.

According to the research trials people lost more weight on average on Mounjaro (22% of starting weight) than on Wegovy (14% of starting weight). So you'd likely lose weight on either, but probably more on Mounjaro.

Because she lost more weight, it doesn’t mean the other option is crap. First few weeks are a bit hit and miss.
Bodies adjust differently to different drugs. My scale has not moved for 3wks on MJ (which some might consider crap, especially knowing the price of the injection) however I can see visual differences already, I’m much more active, I have appetite suppression and no side effects.
Good luck!

Losing weight asap and coming off these meds probably will result in you gaining all the weight back. Now you have started on W I would stick with it, you need a break if you are moving to MJ so might as well just stick.

Thanks everyone! I think the fact that MJ has two different types of GLP might be better. My stomach has definitely shrunk on Wegovy but I still hear food noise. It’s not quite the deafening siren it was but it’s still quite loud…

thanks for the link to the price comparison site. I’ll definitely look at that.

thanks again.

I’ve used both and MJ was much much better for me. I’m quite a slow loser anyway but on Wegovy it was very slow. I switched to MJ and the weight started falling off. The food noise was gone and suppression better to on the MJ.

If you look at something like SheMed it’s £99 first month and then £159 no matter what dose you have after that. Don’t be paying £200 plus. Good luck.
