Has anyone switched between different pharmacies to get cheaper pens?

Hi all. I've just signed up for my first month of Mounjaro with Numan. I used the discount code that gives you £100 off the first month. I've been approved for it and got the dispatch email yesterday afternoon. I already know that I'll be changing to another supplier for the second month, assuming that the first month goes well and I find the side effects manageable. After the first month discount, the price with Numan shoots up to £209. This is more than I'm willing to pay, and more than most people on MN are seemingly paying for their pens.

I am wondering, has anyone switched between multiple different suppliers in pursuit of cheaper prices? I noticed monj.co.uk has over 50 pharmacies listed, but I haven't heard of most of them. Do you just purchase your pens wherever is cheapest? I'm worried about the old adage of "you get what you pay for" and thus concerned that problems are more likely to occur with cheaper providers. Are there any providers on the list who you have had a bad experience with and wouldn't recommend?

I’ve used MedExpress, pharmacy2U and online pharmacy- no issues with any.

ButtSurgery · 13/07/2025 09:02

Yes, just about every month.

www.monj.co.uk for price comparisons, all legit pharmacies.

Be careful with Numan though, they are a subscription service and will just send you the next pen if you don't cancel your membership.

Yes I change almost every month. Some suppliers will price match so you can stick with them - IQ Doctor are one of them. But I’ve ordered from four suppliers in six months and will always look to pay the least I can. Service is largely the same (because I just want them to post me the item, I’m not interested in a wrap around care package).

be careful with Numan - unsure if you’ve clocked that you’ve signed up for them to send you the next pen every month. Some are surprised when they get an email in a few weeks confirming they’re taking payment and sending a pen. The price for the second pen is less attractive than the promotion for pen one.

Fatmumslim01 · 13/07/2025 09:12

Yes Ive used 3 different pharmacies in 4 months. On the monj site next to the prices for each pharmacy there is a click link to show trust pilot reviews and also gphc registration details and inspections so you can read more about each pharmacy.

Personally I've used Asda, chemist4u and medexpress. Next month I'll probably be using we prescribe

SevernWonders · 13/07/2025 11:36

Yes I have swapped round from Zava, IQ and Oushk to get better prices - no issues.

Bit more tricky now my BMI is below 25 and I am heading for maintenance so will probably stay with the same one.

SecretSquirrel703 · 13/07/2025 12:15

Yes, not the absolute cheapest each time as they had low trustpilot scores so I avoided those. Make sure you use any discount code for 1st order, also worth checking with current provider for any discount they'll give for a repeat order or price match if available.

I've used Chemist4U (not currently listed on Monj, still showing as GPhC registered so not sure why?) with no issue & Zava, was bit of a delay at that time as were very busy but still received in time, would have used again if we're cheaper. Just ordered with WePrescribe & that's still processing.

If nothing much changes on prices/reviews, i'll go with MedicineMarketplace next as good prices going forward, even if not discounted.

MrsMiagi · 13/07/2025 13:01

As far as I am aware it's the same supplier for all, Eli Lilly, so no need to pay any more than necessary for the same thing. I have just ordered 12.5mg and paid just under £145 by using a new customer discount, then will reorder the same pen with the provider I use usually who will price match. I don't need the additional support so try and get as cheaper price as possible and I always like to have a spare in the fridge

Flyhighlittlepigeon · 13/07/2025 13:14

I’m with Numan but if I swap won’t the new supplier put me back on the lowest dose? I’ve worked my way up to highest dose

SilenceInside · 13/07/2025 13:16

@Flyhighlittlepigeon no, you just say on the consultation form that you’re already taking Mounjaro and what dose, they’ll ask for evidence such as a photo of your last prescription label from the medication box. I just changed pharmacy whilst on 10mg with no issues.

Not if you took your last dose within the last 2 weeks, they will need copy of your last prescription/box

Justformounjaro · 13/07/2025 13:24

@JuststartedWLI (and @Flyhighlittlepigeon ) keep the box with the prescription you’re on and you will be able to send a photograph to show you’ve been on medication already. I’ve swapped every time and only been asked to prove that I had been taking Mounjaro once but I’m still above a bmi of 30. I imagine rules will get tighter as time goes by. Be prepared for a different set of methods to prove you are who you say you are and your current weight with each different supplier.

amymel2016 · 13/07/2025 14:49

I did exactly the same as you OP, done my first month with Numan but just moved to AYP, had a consultation with their pharmacist on Friday and just explained I was moving due to cost. No issue at all.

Redlightbulb · 13/07/2025 18:19

I haven’t gone for the cheapest each month as there can only be £10 or less difference between them which for me isn’t worth the hassle. But I have now used 4 different providers in 11 months.
MedExpress, Curate, IQ Dr & now Medicine Market Place. I hope to stick with MMP for a while now as they are the cheapest for a 15mg pen by quite some margin & their CS doesn’t look to be too bad.

Mezzoprezzo · 13/07/2025 18:33

I'm with voy at the moment but plan to switch next month. I've liked the convenience of a subscription model but hadn't even realised how ridiculously expensive they were compared to other suppliers.

Scarlettpixie · 13/07/2025 18:35

I used IQ Dr for a couple of months but then they refused to supply me after changing their policy on people with no gallbladder! I then did a month with Curate and have been with Oushk ever since after they were recommended to me. They are at the cheaper end but not necessarily the cheapest. Their customer service is good and I like their more personal approach to prescribing and maintenance. They have been quicker than many to ask people to book a weight verification call and I like that they are trying to prescribe safely. They will also prescribe meds for side effects if needed.

PoisonIvy89 · 13/07/2025 19:17

I've used WePrescribe and Chemist4u and would recommend both. It's easy to switch between providers and chase the lowest price available each month

@PoisonIvy89 did you know that we prescribe and chemist 4u both price match. For chemist 4u if you buy they then refund if you email them with a lower price

PoisonIvy89 · 13/07/2025 19:53

@Fatmumslim01 I did not, thank you! WePrescribe have just started doing refer a friend discounts too

(If anyone wants a code for £40 off pm me! 😜)

Also can I ask @PoisonIvy89 does we prescribe delivery need signing for or will they leave it in a "safe place". Also did you need to have a video consultation or will pictures do? Im hoping to order with them next month but would rather not do a video as dc will be around

PoisonIvy89 · 13/07/2025 21:09

@Fatmumslim01
No video, photo of the scales with a piece of paper beside it with your name and the date, and a side view full body photo.
They use royal mail next day delivery, they knock and ask me to sign but leave it in the safe place if I'm not home

(edit forgot to @ )

I was quite happy with IQ doctor (was with them for 5 pens) but they wouldn’t price match Medicine Market Place for the 12.5 & 15.
I tried getting them to price match twice.
1st time they wouldn’t but I still ordered with them. 2nd time I told them if they didn’t that I would leave as I couldn’t justify paying £25 more (not that they really care) & they still wouldn’t do it so I left true to my word and am now now a happy bunny with MMP.
I am considering Ousk for maintenance but that is 4 stone away still.

I was going to offer you a Numan code OP but I've seen it is actually "for their first order" so it wouldn't work. They offer £100 off!

TheBrickCritic · 19/03/2026 20:23

I have used ME and Bolt who I have noticed do not have any customer discounts currently. When you order the pharmacys have a referral scheme to refer a friend and both of you then get a discount. I have a referral code for bolt.

If you look on monj you can see available discounts and customer reviews. I check there.
