Bloody Royal Mail!!!

Ordered MJ on Tuesday, approved and dispatched Wednesday. There was somebody at home all day yesterday (Thursday) plus a noisy dog who barks the house down if the doorbell rings or someone knocks. Had an email yesterday to say postman had attempted delivery. I immediately followed the link in the email and arranged for me to collect it from my local post office today as there was no-one home. Just before 1pm I had an email to say that the postman had tried to deliver again. No card was left either time. Now the change of delivery doesn't work, I can't get to speak to anyone at Royal Mail as only an 0345 number and it's all recorded, downloaded the app to see if that would be better but that doesn't fucking work. Why is this the one time the postman doesn't leave parcels in my safe place???

I've emailed Cloud but won't get a reply now until Monday at the earliest. 30 degrees here today and yesterday and the postman's van must have been as hot as a blast furnace.

Anyone else having trouble with delivery from Royal Mail right now?

I had similar but mine I could click to redirect the redelivery so I asked for it to be redelivered to the post office and then it said that it would be not the next day but the day after, so two days after it was supposed to be delivered. Then I didn’t get a text two days later so had to shuttle between the post office and the sorting office. It eventually turned up the next day, three days after the delivery date, at the sorting office where it should not have been.

This was in twenty degree weather not thirty and it was still cold but I’ve switched to Asda now.

Go down to your local sorting office now and catch your parcel before it goes back in the van. That’s what I did as I was panicking. I drove down at about 6am and the posties were all there and helped me

Royal Mail are generally great (I use them as a high volume business).

Your pen will be sent out Special Delivery which cannot be left in a safe place, it has to be signed for. They also will try and automatically redeliver the next day. Those are the terms the business you ordered from have chosen.

My tip for future is never to order this drug during a heatwave. I am careful to watch the temperature and only order when the weather cools.

I had a good one last time. Ordered when on holiday so that it would arrive when I return. Said would not be delivered until Saturday.

Got a notification from Royal Mail saying they were going to deliver it on Wednesday (while we are away). Fuck. Made a complicated arrangement with cat sitter and having it redelivered to a neighbour.

Next day I get a notification to say it had been redelivered - to my porch. Fuck knows who signed for it. Cat sitter put it in the fridge for me. It would have been great if RM could have just done that to start with to save me jumping through hoops. And I actually got it that was the main thing.

Sod's law though that I was hoist by their very efficiency to start with.

No delivery today and didn't see the postman to ask him. Will go down to my local post office when I get a chance later (working today) and see if it's there. When I click on track your parcel in the email it's showing as pending. What a shambles Royal Mail is 😡

If it's not at the PO, I'd also try the local delivery office if it's not far and you have time. Just explain it's medication and you'd appreciate their help finding the parcel. They are usually really helpful on those counters.

Mine is open one hour a day from 8am until 9am and not on Wednesdays or the weekend.

Even if not open you can still go down and catch the posties as they are returning with their vans. Be nice and they are likely to help you. Sorting office not post office

Southwest12 · 12/07/2025 18:11

The postman tried to deliver mine on Wednesday 2 hours earlier than the estimated time in the email and didnt bother ringing the bell (ring doorbell so can be sure they didn't). I legged it down to the delivery office before they closed at 10 and said it's medication that needs to be kept cold, I need it today. They arranged for the postie to bring it back. Was actually really impressed with that.

Mounjarocaro · 12/07/2025 21:48

@Southwest12 I'm not convinced the postman tried my door on Thursday. The dog would have gone nuts.

When my DC were little, young enough to need help with coats etc. I was getting them ready to go out one Saturday morning a few feet from the front door. The post man put a tried to deliver card through the door. He didn't knock or ring the doorbell. Had to run after him. He told me he'd knocked and rung the bell. Like hell, he just wanted an early finish that Saturday!

I was thinking about this today (as I had my own delivery scheduled), and I was thinking perhaps I shouldn’t have ordered it this week. But then I decided that the chemists wouldn’t use Royal Mail or send the drugs out in heatwaves without guaranteed delivery (ie, when I order ice creams for my cafe they come in a cool box package with “MUST BE DELIVERED TODAY” all over it). if there was the slightest chance of someone getting ill from the drug being too warm. Their insurance companies just wouldn’t let them.
