They recommend skyr as one of the best on the nhs prediabetic program.

Oh that’s good to know! I think it’s high protein too, so good all round. Feels like quite the treat too!

Gingercar · 08/08/2025 15:02

They also recommend the Aldi Brooklea Greek yogurt. Which I love, but I don’t do low fat, I have the regular one.

I’m always have full fat Greek yogurt. Years ago I read it was better. I could do with the calories! I think it sort of counts as goodish fat? I did a few years with no sugar, and that’s when I started only having full fat stuff.

I’ve tried some Skyr yogurt before and found it too sharp, but might try again as my taste buds have changed.

Me too. I discovered that when I did no sugar too. (I am again now). I read somewhere that the sugars and sweeteners in low fat can trigger your brain to still want sugar.
Interestingly the dietician that runs the prediabetic course I’m doing frequently says that most dieticians nowadays suggest full fat- but obviously not the diabetic course, although she believes that will change.

MissMogs · 08/08/2025 16:42

I’m reading more and more bad things about sweeteners. Not great when most of the products diets like WW push you to are based around them!

RJmama · 08/08/2025 17:33

I’ve just tried the MyProtein clear protein in cola flavour: think it’s a Chupa Chups partnership. It’s not bad! Others mentioned raspberry lemonade, which I also think is nice. I have a raspberry lemon one to try as well.

SomethingAboutYou · 08/08/2025 18:10

@FoxRedPuppy is right @Gingercar I'm tiny! I'm just under 5foot 1 so my healthy range weight starts at something mad like 58kg, like bottom end of 9 stone! I saw an influencer on instagram looking lovely and svelt at the same weight as me, she's on maintenance now, but she's tall! I look like a chubby little round ball at this weight so a fair bit to go 🫣😂

FoxRedPuppy · 08/08/2025 18:59

NSV I went to have my blood pressure checked today. I’ve been on blood pressure medication since my first heart attack 4 years ago. But I’ve been feeling light headed when I stand up.

It’s gone right down and now have a ln appointment on Monday to discuss and hopefully come off the medication!

I used to do WW for decades but moved away from it for that reason (and that I find just eating unprocessed and no sugar much nicer and more effective for me). Plus I find low sugar products give me incredible stomach cramps. So I now always choose the full fat, natural, option.

FoxRedPuppy · 08/08/2025 20:46

Slimming world for me. If I never eat another mullerlight yoghurt again it will be too soon!

I've not posted for a while so just been catching up, glad to hear of everyone's progress and support for those having tough days, such a great group :)

I was manic with end of school stuff (it was my son's last term of primary school and seemed like a hundred leavers this, that and the other to attend) along with last push of work before holiday.

My weight had been a bit static around weeks 5 to 7, but managed to hit the magic stone just before I went away with a total loss of 16.5lbs over 8 weeks, so was pleased with that.

Also my neighbour commented that I had lost weight, first person that noticed, so a boost before I went away.

i took my pen with me, bought a medication cooler bottle from Amazon, which worked fine. I took it in hand luggage, I did get stopped at security but said it was medication and they just waved me through. I had the card prescription box but they didn't want to see it. Did normal dose after a week and golden dose just before I came back.

Had a great holiday, made sensible food choices but didn't calorie count. Made an effort to stick to my 10k steps a day and joined in with pool volleyball, aqua aerobics etc when I could.

However, I did have plenty of cocktails, so was a bit worried about getting on the scales.

I am in shock that I have not put on any weight! Actually lost 0.1 of a pound! Unbelievable, normally when I go 2 weeks all inclusive I put on 5 to 7lbs. This medication is amazing!

So happy and looking forward to a 'normal' week.

Have a great day everyone.
Emma

SW - 17st 3.4lbs
CW -16st 0.8lbs

Xmasfairy86 · 09/08/2025 07:51

W10 D1
Official weigh day (will jab before bed later) and in total down about 7.5kg

SW 106.5
CW 98.6

currently on 5mg and going ok. I feel like losses have slowed but it’s still coming off, just! Gym is going well so I am aware muscle is forming and all that jazz 😂

reading other posts I can resonate with the enhanced period emotions! I’m generally a bit OTT when it comes to those anyway but they are definitely heightened recently!

MissMogs · 09/08/2025 07:56

Hooray the scales budged and I’ve hit the 10kg loss mark!
bonus dose of 5mg has definitely affected me more. I took the equivalent of 6.6mg and the day after was nauseous and more tired and could easily have skipped lunch but made myself eat which I think helped the energy and nausea. I’m pleased I stepped up instead of going straight to 7.5!

healthjourney · 09/08/2025 08:19

@FoxRedPuppy I hope you appointment goes well on Monday, that is a fantastic NSV 👏
Well done on the great losses and NSVs this week everyone
1lb loss for me this week taking me to 21.5lbs in 9 weeks.
I treated myself to an outfit on vinted this week that won't fit me for a while yet but ive had my eye on it for ages and it was a bargain. It's an Allsaints dress and jumper coord in a size medium which I think is a 10-12 so should fit me when I get to my target in around 2 stone. It's gorgeous 😍 and for the first time ever I'm actually feeling confident that I will get to target and be able to wear it.

LongGinShortTonic · 09/08/2025 08:29

It’s great to see how everyone is doing.

My MJ journey has come to an end. I just can’t cope with the side effects any more. I’m within reach of my goal so I’m hoping I can do it without.

I have lost 1 stone 7lbs, which I’m delighted with. There is much I will carry forward in terms of how much I actually need to eat and what my body wants me to eat.

In case this helps anyone else, I last jabbed over two and a half weeks ago and I was fully expecting the food noise to come rushing back. But no! I’m still managing as I was before, I feel like I’ve been reset. I eat fairly healthily and work out too, so it was emotional eating and regulation and portion sizes that were my issue. I’ve also been having hypnotherapy during my time on MJ.

So, to anyone wondering what happens when you come off it - so far, not much! I’ve not regained, but my tummy issues continue. I’m so pleased I did it though.

Good luck, June jabbers! Onwards and downwards.

waitingforlifeonmars · 09/08/2025 09:40

Here’s me getting grumpy I haven’t lost much compared to others. I just weighed myself and I’ve lost a stone(and exactly 1 stone!)! It’s taken 10 weeks. Still no NSV though, still wearing bra extender and not gone down a dress size yet or even got to the point I can pull jeans down without undoing them! No one has commented/noticed. Heyho!

FoxRedPuppy · 09/08/2025 09:43

@LongGinShortTonic good luck with it, sorry for you the side effects have been so awful. Do keep us updated though!

After all my worrying about losing fast, I’ve definitely slowed this week. Which is good. It is amusing that in the week I had a panic about losing fast I’ve lost 0.4kg 😂

SW 88kg
CW 76.4kg
GW 65-67kg

Ive lost 11.6lg or 1st 11.5lbs.

That’s brill! The only people who have noticed are people who know I’m doing it. My mum and DP. No one else has commented.

Those NSV will come soon!

It’ll depend on your starting point too. I’ve lost 10kg but started at 104.4 and I’m only 157cm so pretty big so I think it’ll take a lot for anyone to notice! I haven’t dropped a size yet, and although my clothes don’t feel as uncomfortably tight as they did before, I can’t pull jeans down and bra is still the same. I’m sure it’ll happen for us both in time! I’m focusing on Christmas and new winter clothes…

Xmasfairy86 · 09/08/2025 10:02

It varies day to day as to whether I can see the loss yet. I have a fave pair of denim shorts that have always been big in the crotch area but the waist fit fab. Now they are ridiculous in the crotch AND the waist is too big. Which pains me as I loved them!

can I shrink them…?! 😂😂😂

ChiaraMontague · 09/08/2025 10:59

Officially 10kg down today!
I’ve sorted through my clothes and have three big postage bags ready to send to Oxfam. I was also able to dust off a bunch of pre-lockdown clothes that I can fit into again.

HappyWineDay · 09/08/2025 11:43

Couldn't agree more!

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 09/08/2025 13:00

Full fat milk and yoghurt here too. And butter.

So sorry you had such a rough time. But great to hear that about the food noise. Fingers crossed that it keeps coming off for you. It will be lovely to not have the side effects, I bet. I probably would do the same in your shoes.
