@DownhillAllTheWay not gaining on holiday is a positive! I bet in a weeks time you lose as well. I think staying on low doses as long as you can, gives you more chance to move up in the future when it will get harder the nearer you get to goal.

MissMogs · 07/08/2025 07:24

@DownhillAllTheWayyoull probably find that it comes off in the next few days. I hadn’t lost much straight after holiday but the next few days did.

well I went for it and used a syringe to extract the golden dose! Amazed at how much liquid was in there - filled the 1ml syringe! Tapped for air and primed to bring it down to 0.8 and used that. So a jump from 5 but not quite 7.5! Wish me luck!

Gettingfitorbust · 07/08/2025 07:34

Are you eating anything different while you are on holiday?
I don’t usually have a problem, but noticed it when I ate tofu the other day, which obviously is a product of soy beans.

Well done @MissMogs on your golden dose extraction!

Weigh in day for me and the scales are toying with me - I was 10 stone 13 two days ago and excited to have broken through the stone barrier but this morning the numbers went back and forth and then settled on 11 stone 0, gah! But per the lb on my scales I’m 1.5 lb down from last week so I’m happy with that.

W11 D1
SW 12 stone 2
CW 11 stone
GW 10 stone 2

I’ve gone up to a 5mg pen but went for 45 clicks instead of a full dose as I am travelling tomorrow and staying at MILs overnight.

Oh, just checked my conversions and last week I was 70.4kg and today I am 69.5kg so I have broken a barrier, just kg instead of stone!! 😂

SewerOrLess · 07/08/2025 09:10

Puffalicious peppermint capsules and pepto bismol are recommended for the sulphur burps. I've not had any since starting with peppermint oil caps from Amazon, and I've gone from Rennies to PB if I have heartburn, not that that's often.

CreepingCrone · 07/08/2025 09:32

W9 D1
SW 16st 1lb
CW 14st 8lb
Initial GW 14st

Still on 5mg, and pretty suppressed most of the time.
I had to jab early as I'm away. I usually.jab in a Thursdaybedtime, but had to jab Wed at 5pm - and I had a really shit nights sleep and a headache - I'm shattered!!!
I have IBS and usually have to limit fruit intake and certain veggies. One thing I'm really enjoying at the moment is eating a huge amount of fruit without negative consequences!! It's such a huge treat not to worry about my IBS 😁🍇🍈🍉🥭🍎🍑🍑🍓🫐🥝

MsRinky · 07/08/2025 09:33

Today is my 10-week point, I have lost 10% of my MJ start weight at the rate of 0.9kg or 2.03lbs a week. So happy. Have one more week before I head off on my holiday camper van road trip taking in three consecutive weekends of music festivals, which will be challenging, so basically hoping to maintain between now and September...

No, nothing different at all. Both holidays were UK & self catering & I'm home now & still so windy.

Brilliant! Thank you so much. I'm going to order right now. I'm a lover of peppermint tea & that does help a bit, so the capsules make sense. 👏

im currently on 7.5 but thinking of stopping. 7.5 has been a good level for me suppression wise but this whole journey has not been what I thought. Last week after losing 2.5lb this week only half a pound so far (weigh day is Saturday ) and I could defo lose half a pound with out spending this much I’ve not done anything different really trying to eat 3 times a day move more (spinal Injury limits ) I’m good with will power. Used to smoke decides one day to stop never lit up again I do find things like that easy I know it’s a slow process but it’s so inconsistent I’m not sure it’s right for me. Just ordered another round so have about 3 weeks to decide.

I think any weight loss is inconsistent. And as said slow is best and weight loss always slows and plateaus for a bit as your body adjust.

WLI help suppress cravings, and interior the hormones so you feel fuller. They aren’t magic. Are you eating most of calories from protein, hitting fibre targets etc?

make sure you recalculate your calories for new weight.

I’ve never been a big eater really but I’d grab a packet of crisps then have dinner then maybe a packet of crisps after but now making the effort to have something like bowl of chicken salad for lunch then dinner my portion size is a lot smaller and now listen to tummy and stop when full where as before it was like ooo it’s soo good just one more bite. I’m not a craver just a boredom eater and now if I go to fridge out of boredom grab a couple of cucumber slices instead of a couple of biscuits. Having on average 1-1200 calories 90-120 protein struggling with water as never been a massive drinker but managing 1.5l ish a day for me that’s massive and so much more than ever before. I’m good with slow and steady but feel if I ate like this without mj it would be the same

flameprincess · 07/08/2025 13:33

I'm a boredom eater too rather than an appetite based eater (though I do get ravenous around my time of the month, MJ or not MJ)
I've even found this week on 5mg I've wanted to snack when bored at work, no appetite at all but I guess its the need to occupy myself. Im doing a bunch of elearning which isn't helping me fight the urge to snack!

Well it would as the thing that causes the weight loss is the calories deficit. Mounjaro just makes it easier.

I don’t snack at all anymore. It has wiped out any desire for that. I can even sit and watch DP eat crisps and chocolate and not want some!

I used to boredom snack, but now don’t. I think as with all disordered eating it needs to be addressed before you come off MJ otherwise it will go back to how it was.

I’ve also previously stopped smoking and drugs cold turkey, but never been able to maintain weight loss. I’m really good at dieting to start with, then it gets hard and falls apart

Mounjaro doesn't make you lose weight, it helps you to eat less. So when you say "feel if I ate like this without mj it would be the same" you are absolutely correct. Same number of calories with or without mj will result in the same weight loss (or gain).
So if you aren't regularly losing weight then there must be something in your diet that needs adjusting. Maybe you're having too many calories, are you counting them accurately? Are you trying to avoid the carbs - bread, rice potatoes, pasta?
If you're spending the money on the WLIs, then it really is worth spending the time to really focus on exactly the calories you're eating and the type of calories.
How much have you lost in total, over how long? And don't forget, you're not up to what is considered the full theraputic dose yet.
You really have to give the mj a chance. It can only help you, it can't do the work for you. If you're going to give it three weeks, then how about giving it a big push?

magnoliaday · 07/08/2025 14:16

I’m aware it doesn’t make you lose weight I just feel that with how my habits have changed the weight loss would be the same. I’ve lost a stone in 10 weeks. I done eat bread ect anyway too heavy. I know I don’t move as much as some but after I broke my back even 10 mins walk causes swelling. And I walk what I can ever day and complete my physio exercises. Last nights dinner was a salmon fillet and salad.

magnoliaday · 07/08/2025 14:27

in About 3 weeks I’ll have to decide if I carry on like I’m not dissing it and totally believe it’s mind set also I’m just not sure it’s for me but appreciate everyone is different and everyone will lose gain and progress differently and think everyone has been doing amazing in this group it’s one of the most supportive I’ve seen so well done all for that it’s a big help to all who see it

SewerOrLess · 07/08/2025 14:41

I'm really confused - I've dropped 5lb in 24 hours. Even my scales queried whether it was me! I didn't think I was that constipated, but after 3 weeks of gaining and losing the same pound I feel like it was progress, at least for today.

That’s great weight loss! I know that at the moment I couldn’t do it on willpower alone.

I have contacted my supplier today and asked if they do discount codes for loyalty customers . They replied very quickly and said no they do not. So I’ve been searching prices . I’ve seen you can buy bundles I’m currently paying with postage £153 for my 2.5mg pen. This new supplier I’ve found online would be a 2.5mg pen and a 5mg pen for £233 with free delivery . So if I was to half the 5mg pen and use the 2.5mg as usual , I would be getting 15 weeks (including the golden dose which I could split into 2 syringes if I wanted to) but 15 weeks for £233 . I’m gobsmacked . I’d be paying over £450 with my current supplier. I’m apprehensive but it seems silly not to . 🤔. Anyone doing similar ?

That’s normal- and why we really have to ride the plateaus out, because if you do it right and stick at it the weight loss will catch up at some point. 👏

flameprincess · 07/08/2025 17:12

To those saying you could just eat less without the Mounjaro, you are right that weight loss ultimately comes down to a calorie deficit, and tracking accurately is important. But I do want to push back on the idea that Mounjaro 'just' helps you eat less.

Mounjaro does also improve insulin sensitivity and reduces inflammation, and impacts how your body processes and stores energy. For lots of us with insulin resistance or metabolic dysfunction, that’s a big deal and makes all the difference. Eating the same calories without Mounjaro may not result in the same outcomes for everyone and it really does depend on your own reasons for being overweight.

Just wanted to acknowledge that Mounjaro changes more than just appetite! It's not a magic fix I agree, and even I get frustrated at the slow losses, but lets not say that Mounjaro is purely for appetite suppression because its soooo much more than that.

Tinybirdie · 07/08/2025 17:31

Gah. No loss last week and 0.5lbs this week. Think I have hit my plateau! Its quite disheartening even though I try to give myself a shake and remind myself loss is never a continuous downward trajectory!

Week 10, 2 of which on 5mg.
Weight loss now at 20.5lbs
At least 2 stone to go!

Sorry you are right. I actually did calorie counting diet for 6 weeks a few months before starting MJ, and I lost 0lbs. Did all the protein, low carb.

is the plan for you to stay on a maintenance dose @flameprincess ?

Yeah I think ultimately I will stay on a low dose for life. I have PCOS, also the jab has completely eradicated the headaches I was having near daily which I'm convinced now were blood sugar related (my mum has type 2 diabetes, I had gestational diabetes so I was totally on the cusp of it myself).

The health benefits are worth it for me, but I do still curse the heavens when my weight stagnates for a week, after all, we are paying a lot for it!
