The thing you have to remember is that the injection is supposed to be “subcutaneous” which means into the fat layer under the skin, not into the muscle below. So if you pinch your belly and inject into the fat, then that’s ok. But you don’t have to go a long way in. I would inject where there’s a good fat layer. For example, there’s not much fat on my thighs, so I don’t inject there.
My belly however… 😂

I’ve never done my thigh for that reason. I’m not saying they are slim, but I think being a runner means they are fairly muscular. Always belly (and once drunkenly in my arm!)

W9D1 and I have lost 1st and 6lb. I am very happy with that. Interestingly 6lb of that has been in the last 2 weeks as I moved to 5mg seems to have had an impact. I have been eating very healthily not processed foods and for me the biggest change is a massive reduction in wine! However I am about to go on holiday so that will be interesting. Good luck everyone I really enjoy reading everything. I have started taking Biotin to hopefully prevent excess hair shedding. Not had any yet but trying to be prepared also taking collagen. I am 58!

I have such thick hair I have an undercut and a special treatment done every few months. I’d love some hair loss!

I still chuckle at your arm story

flameprincess · 04/08/2025 15:51

I've been taking biotin and collagen from the start, and I've still experienced hair loss even though I'm not losing more than 1.5lb-2.0lb a week. Have added an iron supplement. Thankfully my hair is really thick so it's not noticeable yet but I am miffed it started coming out within the first few weeks.

Finally had the email from IQ doc to say the pen is on the way!
how are people finding 7.5? I think I’ll still use golden dose from the 5, but will see if there’s enough liquid to step up a bit. If 0.6ml is 5mg, then 0.9ml should be 7.5mg right? So anything in between is a step up!

7.5 has been all good for me feel better actually. First week was tired with no loss but that always happens to me when I move up after that I’ve felt so much better and lost 2.5lb biggest weekly loss ( I’m normally 1-2) I’ve ordered another 7.5 for the next round also

finalpunt · 04/08/2025 20:01

After horrendous SE last week when going up to 5mg, decided to drop to 3.75mg this week.
Had much better week again so far, still struggled to eat for first couple of days but was able to pick at high protein snacks.
W7 D2 and 18lbs down so far. 3lbs more and it will be the lightest I've been on the scales in 3 years and im finding getting up and downstairs much easier on my knees

Gettingfitorbust · 04/08/2025 21:28

Week 7 day 1 and so far I have lost 11lbs.
I’m glad people have said small steady weight loss is OK, as otherwise I think I might have been discouraged. I am feeling lighter, and can see that my clothes are looser, so all good.

Librariesrule · 05/08/2025 06:41

W7 D1 another 1lb down
This makes a total of 1stone, I'm very happy. All my clothes are fitting better.
Onwards and downwards we go have a good day everyone 😀

MissMogs · 05/08/2025 07:41

Hooray the scales are going in the right direction again! I drank a LOT of water yesterday which I think must help.
SW 104.4kg
CW 95.25kg
GW 65kg but mini goals of every 5kg.

Checked what my weight was in stones because generally I avoid it down to too many bad weight watchers memories, but excited to see I’m back in the 14s…just! It did make me laugh!

I measure in KG for a similiar reason, the number doesn't mean as much to me so doesn't scare me as much haha

I would recommend palmers cocoa butter lip balm for dry lips. I swear by it. Vaseline won't work, it's acts as a barrier and keeps the dryness in if that makes sense, it's not actually moisturising

I cannot thank you enough @Emas82 !

I've been a Vaseline for dry lips girl all my life. The lip balm is a game changer. I've been using it daily since you recommended it. My lips are so soft now.

Thank you!

You're so welcome! I'm really fussy with lip balm, can't stand sticky stuff. I also can't stand not having anything on my lips so I have lip balm in every pocket and on every side in my house! The palmers is also 3 for 3 in Tesco atm so I have stocked up!
I also really rate the L'Occitaine Petit Remedy but it's a bit spenny, and also I can't now see it on the website so maybe they've stopped making it!

Xmasfairy86 · 05/08/2025 13:58

@Emas82 oh my god - I used to be addicted to the L’Occitane Petite remedy balm. The one in a pot. Come to think of it, I haven’t seen it around for ages. Sad times.

my current go to has been a random pear thing from home bargains. Works wonders for all 3 of my children and myself. Will grab some of the palmers later as the pear thing is no longer available 🙄

FoxRedPuppy · 05/08/2025 14:01

W8 D2 of nausea from 5mg jab on Sunday night, but manageable. As I’m chronically constipated most of the time due to other medication I love the morning after the jab as it’s good clear out 😂

I also weigh in kg because of previous diet associations!

SW 88kg
CW 76.4kg
GW 65-70kg

so overall I’ve lost 11.6kg which is 1 stone 11lbs!

My boobs have definitely shrunk this month. They are like two empty beanbags 😂.

I started on 7.5mg yesterday and I’m exhausted but also think we’ve brought germs home from holiday.

W9 D2
SW 190lb
CW 170 (.9!) lbs
GW 150lb

Pretty much half way including a 3 week holiday. Really pleased.

Focusispower · 05/08/2025 20:43

@FoxRedPuppy that is one heck of a loss! I’m a week and a bit behind you and I’ll be surprised if I make it past a stone.

I am almost 7 weeks in and I’m pretty sure that I’ve gained whilst on holiday over the last 10 days. Won’t weigh in until Sunday when we get home so won’t know for sure but I haven’t really followed my usual diet. Not been hugely excessive so it’s hard to call, but there’s been the odd treat, glass of wine and much more carbs than I have at home. I’ve decided that I’ll order a 5mg pen but will eke it out at 5 x 3.75mg doses and hope that gives me a decent push for the next month.

Did my last 2.5mg jab today. Will aim to be good for the rest of the holiday!

Probably helps that I haven’t had a holiday in this time, like most people. I’m trying to be careful and pushing myself to eat 1400 calories a day, but I usually only manage 1200.

Im convinced that a big part of it is me significantly cutting down on alcohol. I’d got into the habit (with DP) of drinking a bottle of wine on 1-2 week nights and then at least 2 nights at a weekend. Even now when I do drink at a weekend, I’m drinking much less. I definitely get to a point where I don’t want any more to drink.

Im not proud of my drinking, I have had a couple of very stressful years which have seen it creep up. So glad that has changed.

Haven’t checked in for a while. Tomorrow will be the start of week 7 and have lost 9.5kg. I’ve been on 5mg this week but the suppression is really high so might reduce it tomorrow.
Is it best to do less clicks or use the needles I have for the golden dose?

Chellooo · 06/08/2025 08:29

Week 10 Day 1 jab day and I'm.down 20lbs - delighted !

I've decided I'm going to do one more pen at 5mg then come off them as I feel like I'm near enough to where I want to be, and if I'm honest the side effects are getting to me.

Has anyone else felt it really changing their moods? I'm feeling soo soo low and flat at the minute for no reason, and some of the thoughts are quite dark - not in that I want to harm myself, more in a I want to just up in the middle of the night and disappear somewhere on my own so I don't have to deal with or see anyone...

I'm normally a very upbeat person, so the only thing I can think of would be the jabs so I'll be interested to see how I feel when I come off!

I'm aiming for another 10lbs so fingers crossed 🤞

SomethingAboutYou · 06/08/2025 08:35

@SnackcidentProne I've got a 5mg pen and have been doing 45 clicks for a 3.75mg dose. I only see people do the golden dose when a pen has run out of clicks.

@Chellooo oh no, that doesn't sound ideal for you. Lucky you're close to your goal. Hope it passes soon

healthjourney · 06/08/2025 09:12

@Chellooo I'm sorry you aren't feeling great at the moment and I hope it passes soon ❤️ There is definitely something strange and a little disconcerting if you used to get a lot of joy from food and drink and that is taken away. I've been thinking a lot about what used to bring me joy in the past before I was obese and overly focused on food and drink and trying to bring some more of thise things into my days.

FoxRedPuppy · 06/08/2025 09:58

I don’t think it’s effected my mood, but I have seen people writing about how it has theirs.

I couldn’t sleep last night (bloody perimenopause) and one of the things going round in my head was worried about how quickly I’ve lost weight. So I’m going to make a conscious effort to track every day and push myself to 1400 calories.

I really want to maintain this loss and the faster you lose the harder it is to maintain because you don’t have to time to reset your set point weight.

OP posts:
farfallarocks · 06/08/2025 11:56

interesting what is a set point weight!
I’ve also lost very quickly, 11kg in 6 weeks (!)

Booklover2021 · 06/08/2025 12:25

Feeling a bit deflated today, no weight loss in 2 weeks. Yesterday I upped the jab dose to 3.75 but have stalled at 19lbs.

Hoping I'll see more suppression again with a bigger dose.
