I also did a little wardrobe clear out this weekend.

I’ve got a pile of things that are now way too big to go to the charity shop, a smaller pile of things that will do for another few weeks/kilos, and a few things I’d put away to wear when I lost weight which now fit 😁

I’ve got a smaller pile of things that are too big but I want to see if they can be salvaged with alterations. My MIL is really good at dressmaking so I hope she can let me know if it’s worth trying to save them. I don’t want to spend too much on new clothes now because I’ve still got 20kg to go, but I also don’t want to be walking around in clothes that are way too big.

Sogfree · 03/08/2025 19:21

Just about to have my 4th course in a family meal.

It hurts!!!!

flameprincess · 03/08/2025 19:42

I've been enjoying the tiktok before and after and mounjaro tips but any time i see the ones that have "lost 4 stone in 4 months" etc I hide them immediately cuz they push me over the edge.

I'm at 18.3lbs down in 8 weeks which is fantastic but I do get grumpy when I see the super responders!

flameprincess · 03/08/2025 19:46

I've also got a bunch of winter clothes vacuum packed and stored as I keep them out of the way in Summer. Im half tempted to just be brave enough to bag them up and donate as a signal to my brain that I wont fit in them again... but also I have a couple of velvet dresses I love in there I'm wondering if I could get adjusted. Never had anything but school trousers for the kids adjusted at a tailors but considering it for the clothes I love when I'm slimmer. What are everyone else's plans for old clothes?

Do you have to poke the longer needles in further, or only as far as the little screw on ones go in?

I pushed all the way in- i have a nice thick fat layer for it to go into. 😂😂😂

RatherTardy · 03/08/2025 20:01

So, I'm a week into a 2 week holiday.

Noooo idea how (badly) I'm doing, but things are feeling tighter.
Will deffo get back on track once I'm home.
I don't feel like I'm massively overeating, but the holiday booze is slipping down a treat!

One nice thing is that I'm DEFINITELY not one of the biggest on the beach. Being part of this community made me worry that EVERYONE is on WLIs, and they're very definitely not!

4 stone in 4 months is dangerous. It’s a recipe for gallstones, gallbladder issues in general. As well as putting it all straight back on, loss of muscle and wobbly skin.

You are doing it the best way.

I’ve been baking a birthday cake and making chocolate ganache for my 13 yr old. I’m shattered and haven’t got anything proper food like in house. Kids are with their dad u til tomorrow, so ended up having a pot noodle for tea!

I’m never sure that I actually believe that people lose four stones in four months. And if they do - they can’t have retrained their eating habits, and must surely be the most likely to put weight back on again.

Exactly! I'm aiming for a sustainable diet where I'm always looking at not just the calories of what I'm eating but the protein content and balancing it all with exercise as well. It was impossible for me without a WLI because I have fuck all impulse control. It's given me the space to do that.

Catladyof7 · 03/08/2025 21:32

I agree, thats impossible as far as i am concerned , think they are lying .
I am just on week 7 today and i have just lost my first stone.
1000 calories a day and only 1-2lb a week .
I dont think to lose that much is possible unless they havent eaten anything at all in 4 months .
I am only 5ft 1 and not a small frame , checking on my calories and the most i can eat to lose weight is 1200 .
They must be living on fresh air or will end up very ill

waitingforlifeonmars · 03/08/2025 21:46

I have a neighbour who has lost a stone a month for at least 4 months on MJ. He had a lot to lose. He was thrilled after the first month when his bathroom scales actually showed him his weight instead of an error message. I think the massive weight loses are as someone previously said- people who didn’t eat healthily before now eating less , healthier and cutting out alcohol, certainly is what’s doing it for my neighbour, he jokes he now only has 1 pie instead of 2 for his dinner!

waitingforlifeonmars · 03/08/2025 21:51

Remember that your calorie intake can be a lot higher if you are heavier. You can have a maintenance calorie intake of 3000cal if you are 6ft and 26stone! https://tdeecalculator.net/

FoxRedPuppy · 03/08/2025 21:51

I lost a lot to start with which was probably down to sharp decrease in alcohol!

Men tend to lose weight more easily to start with- they store it differently to women.

Ok! I was responding to the post above which was discussing some people losing quickly. I was just theorising that might also contribute to my fast loss in first 2 weeks.

@ChiaraMontague ”I don’t want to spend too much on new clothes now because I’ve still got 20kg to go, but I also don’t want to be walking around in clothes that are way too big.”
what a great dilemma to have though! I’m the same. I look like Charlie Chaplin with the gathers when I tighten my jeans belt but am reluctant to buy new ones when I’m only half way to target!

RJmama · 04/08/2025 09:11

W8 D1 and I’ve lost 2.5lbs! So close to the 1 stone loss now. I’m pleased after last week’s gain. I think Aunt Flo is due very soon as well so maybe I’ll get a whoosh after that.

Have the 5mg pen on order.

It is definitely a nice problem to have!
I’m thinking that I’ll have to have a very minimal capsule wardrobe that I can replace every couple of sizes - jeans, a couple of t-shirts, smart trousers for work and a couple of blouses or shirts. I think Vinted is going to become my new best friend!

The t-shirts I usually wear to gym classes were looking really loose on my waist before the summer, I’m excited to see how they fit towards the end of August and maybe treat myself to a couple of new ones 😁

It is worth seeing how much it would cost to get the velvet dresses adjusted (and if it’s possible to alter them in the way that would still look as good).
If I’ve got something really special I will try to alter it but other than that I think it will be Vinted or charity shops. My office does an annual clothes drive for a charity that provides interview outfits to women looking to get back into work, so that’s my plan for any work clothes that no longer fit.

W9D1 and I have lost 1st and 6lb. I am very happy with that. Interestingly 6lb of that has been in the last 2 weeks as I moved to 5mg seems to have had an impact. I have been eating very healthily not processed foods and for me the biggest change is a massive reduction in wine! However I am about to go on holiday so that will be interesting. Good luck everyone I really enjoy reading everything. I have started taking Biotin to hopefully prevent excess hair shedding. Not had any yet but trying to be prepared also taking collagen. I am 58!

MissMogs · 03/08/2025 18:29

The thing you have to remember is that the injection is supposed to be “subcutaneous” which means into the fat layer under the skin, not into the muscle below. So if you pinch your belly and inject into the fat, then that’s ok. But you don’t have to go a long way in. I would inject where there’s a good fat layer. For example, there’s not much fat on my thighs, so I don’t inject there.
My belly however… 😂

HappyWineDay · 04/08/2025 10:57

If there are people who have a daily maintenance calories requirement of say 3,000 and they cut down to 1,500, that’s a daily 1,500 deficit.
That’s 10,500 calories a week, equivalent to 3lb. Do that for a month and you’re not far off a stone. So it’s feasible some people could do that, it would seem.

Ohhhh that's interesting. I've gone up to the 5mg pen but jibbed out of the full dose as I was scared of the potential side effects so went for 3.75mg. First week's loss was 0.8lbs so wasn't the fresh whoosh I was hoping for when moving up!!

SunandMoor · 04/08/2025 12:13

@SomethingAboutYou i nearly chickened out too because of stories i read on here but I have had no issues.

MissMogs · 04/08/2025 12:50

Finally had the email from IQ doc to say the pen is on the way!
how are people finding 7.5? I think I’ll still use golden dose from the 5, but will see if there’s enough liquid to step up a bit. If 0.6ml is 5mg, then 0.9ml should be 7.5mg right? So anything in between is a step up!
