Great news on your NSV @RJmama ! 🥂

The needles supplied with the pen should work just fine. My supplier doesn't give me spares, so I didn't know anyone did.

WK9D1 - Did 2nd dose of 3.75mg before going away on holiday for a week last week, didn't have any side effects like with the first at that dose, but I got back from holiday yesterday and have put on 2kg.

Bit gutted but not shocked. Was doing between 17k-20k steps a day which I had hoped would at least keep me at 'even stevens' upon return, but admittedly I did drink a few beers while away and I guess it just shows how much alcohol makes me pile weight on. 2kg though... I could cry.

Needless to say it gave me the kick up the arse I needed to jump up to 5mg this week without fear, I just want to get back on track now.

@flameprincess I think holiday weight should come off as quickly as you put on as some will be water weight etc from drinking. I put on a pound on my holiday, had lost it within a couple of days by my next weigh in and then dropped 2 more the following week after being back on no snacking and back off (most) alcohol. It’s reversible!

My NSV today is being back in jeans I’d been wearing for years until about 4 months ago when I had to go up a jeans size. That was my catalyst for starting to think about how much weight I’d put on in the last couple of years and then my friend said I could consider MJ… which took me a while to think about. Now I wish I’d seen her earlier to recommend!

Feeling frustrated and disheartened and totally alone on this. Im on W7D2 and lost 1.4kg. I have had no real SE nor do I feel the mounjaro is doing anything. Still feel as hungry as ever and the food noise is strong. As a result I haven't managed to stick to eating healthily or less. Has anyone else found they are coming to the end of the 5mg stage and it's not working?
I know I need to get my head in gear and make sure im eating healthy but the whole point was for this to help me want to do it and it hasn't. Now I dont know if I should continue onto 7.5mg or give up? Anyone felt like this?

I have been lurking on this thread but haven’t posted as I am in the same boat @CaptivePeanut, in fact I have not lost a single pound. I took my last 5mg dose a couple of days ago and I have a 7.5mg pen which I will be starting next week.
I have not had any side effects at all and no suppression or feeling full. I may as well have been injecting water. I have been drinking 2l of water everyday and eating protein. It is disheartening but I obviously have a high tolerance.

I originally started several months ago but the same thing - no loss so I stopped. I am going to try the 7.5 but if it’s still the same, I will give up.

Fingers crossed for us both

Have you been calorie counting? MJ shouldn’t prevent weight loss, if you are in calories deficit then you should be losing. Otherwise I’d get checked out by a GP if you are in a deficit.

First takeaway in 2 months, I only had a kid's burger and half a portion of fries though. Thought I'd be safe as it's jab day tomorrow but my poor stomach is complaining and it looks like I'll be on the loo the rest of the night.

Im the same. Stopped losing on 5mg. 2.5 did hardly anything.
I count my calories. I go to the gym . I drink loads of water. Put on 4llbs the other week.
It's so frustrating and disappointing.
Im seeing my GP soon to see if anything she can suggest

Gingercar · 01/08/2025 21:13

How many calories are you eating? Eating too few can mess with your metabolism too and stop progress.

Kangarude · 01/08/2025 21:44

No I am not calorie counting. I hoped to get some suppression to assist with that. The food noise hasn’t stopped at all

Bless you. That must be so disheartening. I have read on other threads that some people need the higher doses of 7.5mg and 10mg to really start to feel the suppression.

Kangarude · 01/08/2025 22:20

Thank you, yes it is very disheartening, but I haven’t given up hope that 7.5 will work 🤞🏽

magnoliaday · 02/08/2025 07:40

Was looking at maybe changing supplier to get a discount -filled in the details as you do they asked about side effects popped in the only one I’ve really had the fatigue as soon as I put it in big red shouty banner saying cannot continue due to side effect oh well looks like I’ll stick to Asda

That’s weird. I went from Asda to Chemist 4 U and then back to Asda no problem.

I’ll probably stick with Asda as I like being able to collect it and I’m lazy 😂

I started by calories counting and carefully looking at macros. Because I won’t be on MJ forever so I need to properly relearn better eating. I don’t really need to, and I don’t do it as strictly now. But I think you need to record what you eat a bit to start with.

Yeah happy to stick with Asda is convenient and never had an issue just though I’d try oh well 🤷‍♀️. Maybe they were just being over cautious as a new customer

MissMogs · 02/08/2025 07:58

First weigh in after holiday for me and 2kg off. I’d hoped for more as it was a proper test of willpower and I was so good and denied myself so much food and drink I normally enjoy on holiday, but that’s the game isn’t it. I am worried about maintaining though once I get to goal. I can’t see myself living like this forever.

FoxRedPuppy · 02/08/2025 08:03

2kg is loads! It’s 4.5lbs! I’m aiming for 0.6kg a week. And that’s when I’m at home and not on holiday. Well done!

OP posts:
FoxRedPuppy · 02/08/2025 08:03

I do think you need to think about not denying yourself things though. That’s diet culture thinking. Everything is fine in moderation, that should be what you are aiming for.

MissMogs · 02/08/2025 08:13

I have about 50kg to lose though, so a long long way to go! Someone mentioned about 1% a week was a good aim, which for my starting weight would be over 1kg a week.

healthjourney · 02/08/2025 08:31

Morning June jabbers. After maintaining last week my perseverance has paid off with 2lbs down this week. So I am now officially overweight and have lost 10% of my weight since starting mounjaro 🥳

I am sticking to 2.5mg (starting 3rd pen tonight) but have started to notice some lessening of the effects. I like being able to eat slightly larger portions, it's making it a bit easier to hit my nutrition targets and I don't mind having to use a little bit of willpower. I'll reasses in a couple of weeks and go up a dose next time if it continues to wear off.

I hope everyone has a good weekend with minimal side effects and good results 😊

I think the 1% works for lbs, but not kgs. A good weight loss is 1lb a week, regardless of how much you have to lose. Anything more risks muscle loss and isn’t sustainable.

2kg is still brilliant!

I agree that you need to keep a record of what you’re eating- ideally for a while. But I don’t do calorie counting, I actually think it can lead to focusing more on the number than the food. I do the balanced plate method, half your plate veg, 1/4 protein, just under 1/4 complex carbs, and a dash of healthy fat. I’m avoiding all processed foods and refined sugars. I’m eating pretty large amounts of food.
If you’re struggling with doses and what you eat it might be worth using something like Voy or Juniper for a month or two - they are more expensive but there are coaches and lots of help when you need it.

1% of 50kg is 0.5kg =1.102 lb

Hi All ,
wk 5 day 6
I had really good loss first couple of weeks but last 3 weeks it’s half a pound a pound then half a pound . I weighed yesterday and a pound off again which is good but as I’ve been struggling to eat it’s seems not much. When I am busy and I am trying to cram all my calories in at the end of the day it just doesn’t work. So yesterday I had all my calories I ate 3 meals and snacks and even a couple of glasses of wine which I don’t normally do . Weighed again this morning and that 1lb loss is now a 3lb loss. I felt so full I was sure I would have gained. Now I realise how mad our bodies are , so this weekend I am meal planning so I have meals to take to work , Days out food if needed, breakfast lunch and dinners. Now cooking some breakfast muffins great little protein breakfast and I have some for the weekend and to freeze, nice for a snack too. Im so good with water usually 3-4 litres a day . I forgot how important the food part is. I am now only 2lbs away from a new stone bracket . Very excited and gave away 6 black sacks of clothes that I’ve grown out of . No going back this time !! 😁

Yes! Well done! Losing 10% has been shown to make such a positive impact on overall health 🎉 I still have 3kg to go to get there but am very excited to be getting healthier!

I'm a bit unsure about my move up to the 5mg pen as I was on a roll on the 2.5mg when I switched (I wavered 2 jabs in when I needed to re-order and then started losing really well again!), let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks!

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 02/08/2025 10:50

W8D2 (had 9th jab)
SW 78kg
CW 67kg
GW whatever it takes to flatten the mum tum
Good news - I’m looking so much slimmer. Bad news - I have a massive pile from being constipated for first 5 weeks.
How long do piles last as feels horrible
