@Catladyof7 i haven’t had this experience. I am in week 8 and I still enjoy the taste of food I just don’t want to eat a lot of it. I think I have been quite lucky as I have not had any real SE except constipation which I am using ground flaxseeds in my yoghurt in the morning. Partway into my second week on 5mg. Hope it continues as I would miss enjoying food!

Chellooo · 30/07/2025 20:22

Week 9, and after a few annoying weeks of either zero loss or even gains 🫣 I've finally dropped! Was hovering around the 181lbs and it was driving me crazy, but after a weekend of eating what I wanted and relaxing a little, I stepped on the scale this morning to see a cheeky little 179! Delighted to be in this new bracket, next goal is 170!
Total weight loss since start of June is just under 18lbs 🥳

Its the only SE i have had.
I want to eat and i do , i just dont enjoy it , but i have to eat.
I am only having 1000 calories a day .
Saturday is my jab day .
I took 3.75 out of my 5 mg dose at first , had the full 5mg last week and then 2 more 5mg and the golden dose .

Tinybirdie · 30/07/2025 21:20

Weigh in day tomorrow! I have a sneaky suspicion I wont see any movement in the scales. But im looking forward to injection day. Going to stay on 3.75 despite the suppression waning. Trying to stay low dose for as long as possible

I get this when I've eaten a little more than usual too! I can't tell if I make an over effort to eat clean and light after a couple of days of eating more, and so it's my body responding to the super clean eating post enjoyment or if it needs to have a few more calories every now and again to not be in the fat storing mode and it feels safe to let go of some pounds because I'm not starving. I dunno, it's always a nice surprise!

Experiences with IQ doc? Just used them for the first time as it was about £60 cheaper than Pharmacy 2U who I started with. Had to upload pics which was not nice but I get why! Have opted for 7.5 but planning to count clicks to increase slowly. No real SE from 5 except slight constipation which sorts itself out within a day or 2. But I still feel hungry and it’s taking so much willpower to not eat what I want!

How much did you get the 7.5 for? I can only see it at £160 on their website. Are there codes?

Lola528 · 31/07/2025 02:40

W9D0 (jab day 😂)

SW 16st 4lbs
CW 15st 1lbs (but official weigh day is tomorrow)
GW tbd

Had my monthly catch up with the Pharmacist. Was sure she was going to make me go up to 5mg but to my surprise she didn’t! As I’m consistently losing around 2lbs per week (averaged out) she said no real need to increase unless that starts to level off. Am so glad as S/E of 5mg terrify me, even though I may get none 😂, I have “the fear”! So now sticking with 2.5 for the next 4 weeks.

So will see how these next 4 weeks go, my waist measurement didn’t change in last 4 weeks even a tiny bit so I’m a bit sad about that but I am, interestingly, now wearing a smaller sized jean - go figure!

Good Luck 🍀 on everyone’s endeavours this week ahead.

Onwards and downwards JJ’s!

There’s a code on monj which brings it down

Librariesrule · 31/07/2025 06:53

Just ordered pen 3, have decided to stick to 5mg as I struggle to eat enough.

ShesRunningOutTheDoor · 31/07/2025 07:02

magnesium citrate really does sort constipation. Regular for days and days now since starting it

BadgerFace · 31/07/2025 07:10

Weigh in day and I am 2 pounds down which I am really chuffed with! I only lost 2 pounds between 28 June and 24 July for various reasons including lots of work events/holiday/drinking (so I was okay with it as I also want to live my life as normallly as possible) but I’ve been back on no snacking and minimal drinking for a week and feel rewarded!

Plus I’ve broken the stone marker and 10 stone something feels achievable in the next few weeks which I haven’t been for 5+ years…

W10D1
SW 12 Stone 2
CW 11 Stone 1
GW 10 Stone 2

I also measured myself for the first time yesterday since week 1 and have lost 2 inches from my waist and hips and half an inch from my arms and calves. Lovely stuff.

I extracted the golden dose from my second 2.5mg pen this morning which was 0.7ml after priming so I think just under 3mg. Hopefully no side effects in anticipation of going up to 5mg next week.

LongGinShortTonic · 31/07/2025 07:18

Great to see how everyone is getting on. Unbelievably I’m 19lbs lighter than I was on 30 May!

I’m back from a brief sneaky holiday with DP and whilst I had some treats I made good choices and it’s the first time ever I’ve come back the same weight as I was before going.

however…my tummy issues continue. I jabbed last night with the 5mg golden dose but looking ahead at the next three weeks I’m going to take a break - away seeing family and on holiday with the kids and I just can’t do it with the constant runny tum out of nowhere. I reckon the half life means it’ll still be in my system for most of the time and then if - and it is a big if - I’ll get back on 2.5mg.

Part worried, part excited, part feeling like it’s a scientific experiment on behalf of us all to see what it’s like to come off it!

Crinklecat · 31/07/2025 08:24

For anyone experiencing the gains or plateau for no reason, stick with it. I weigh daily so can track the trends. I’ve lost 3lbs In the last 2 days. Doing nothing different to the previous days when I was having a small gain/ maintain? (The big gain 2 weeks ago I was at a festival eating, drinking and dancing for 12 hours in a heatwave)

Gettingfitorbust · 31/07/2025 08:49

Thanks for that Crinklecat. Interesting to see it as a graph.

Crinklecat · 31/07/2025 09:18

To add to that, if your fat % isn’t going down as quickly as you’d like but your weight is reducing then you’re losing more fat than you realise because it’s a similar % of a smaller number of that makes sense

Xmasfairy86 · 31/07/2025 09:32

I've gone back to weighing daily, as a random increase messes with my mind when weekly!

I am fully aware of my daily fluctuations but that doesn't stop me moaning if one week I'm under 100kg and the next I'm over it!!!!!

Tinybirdie · 31/07/2025 10:03

Good to read about the daily fluctuations as I have hit my first week with no loss. And despite saying I wouldnt be disappointed when that happpend, I am!! Its jab day and I was convinced id stay on 3.75 but now I am unsure

Crinklecat · 31/07/2025 10:17

if you look at my individual weeks, depending on weigh day, it would be a gain or a maintain. But weighing every day shows that these are just small fluctuations. I know it doesn’t work for everyone but I’d get disheartened only seeing weekly

overall 24 lbs in 6 weeks

SewerOrLess · 31/07/2025 10:43

11 days ago I was 13st10. Then I went up to 13.12 and gained and lost a lb every day until today I am finally 13st9. It's been hard work! I've really had to look at the bigger picture. Tomorrow of course I'll put the bloody thing back on but for now 🏆

Good luck I am sure with the right mindset you put anything on and may surprise yourself and lose!

But don’t take magnesium if you are on blood pressure medication as it interacts. I wish I could take it, but I’m on medication for my heart (I don’t have high blood pressure, it’s used off label for my heart)

Has anyone found differences in symptoms between jabbing the the thigh vs belly? I’ve been alternating thighs but as my golden dose needle is longer than the usual ones I went for belly this morning as that is flabbier…

I did my thighs for the first six weeks without SE at all, then changed to the belly. No difference whatsoever. I can feel it slightly more in my thigh.

BadgerFace · 31/07/2025 12:13

Thanks @Gingercar Ive been pretty symptomless on thigh injections so suddenly questioned if I’d done something stupid!

I'd never thought of that. Thank you!
