God im such a plank. I didnt realise you had to refrigerate unopened pens. So mine has been out of a fridge for 7 days. However, goggling seems to suggest it can be out of the fridge for 21 days and be fine.
For the first day since starting MJ on 30th May, I felt hungry today!

i don’t refrigerate opened pens. You don’t need to. Just keep them below 30 degrees.

W6 D1 = -2lb making a total of 13lbs. The scales show a number I haven't seen for about 3yrs.
Very happy today. We were out last Friday to celebrate a family members birthday at an all you can eat buffet restaurant, previously I would've had at least 6 plates but only had 2 and one of those was because I refuse to pay £23 for 1 small plate of food.
Really wish I'd started this journey sooner.

Hello. Joining this thread as started mid June. I am approaching week 7 and have stayed on 2.5mg as I am on holiday and didn’t want to risk in teased side effects.

I am intrigued by the idea of extracting another dose? Can I simply use a spare needle or do I need to do something more complicated?

MsRinky · 29/07/2025 08:51

Morning all, have not checked in for a while, life has been busy! Today marks the 2 month point for me and I am down 8.5kg, or just shy of 19lbs. Chuffed to bits. I will be taking my third 3.75 dose on Thursday and will be sticking with this until at least September - I am away quite a lot in August. Have had a few episodes of burps and a noisy stomach, but no nausea or bowel trouble. Am also wishing I'd started earlier!

Xmasfairy86 · 29/07/2025 10:48

I don't know if this is a side effect or just me, but my lips have been ridiculously dry this week - no amount of vaseline or lip balm is helping!

Pennina · 29/07/2025 12:10

Still plateaued at 15st 13 lb. Happy to have lost 10 lb but worried nothing in 2 weeks now.

That's excellent progress, congratulations! 2lb a week-ish as well, steady and sustainable, in my opinion 👍

The pen locks after the four doses. Apparently it used to be possible to force the pen past that point but my understanding is that they must have changed the design so that is no longer possible without breaking it. So the way to extract the fifth dose is by getting a syringe, typically used for diabetes injections, and extracting the dose through the red seal using the syringe. You then use the syringe to inject yourself.
It sounds harder that it is, and plenty of people on here have done it.

It’s absolutely normal. Your body is adjusting its metabolism as you’re a couple of months into a new eating regime. If you’re worried just check portion sizes or calories.

Gingercar · 29/07/2025 12:32

I’ve just finished week 10 and am 26lbs down - so nearly 2 stones!

Wow that is good! Any tips?

ChiaraMontague · 29/07/2025 16:41

8.7kg down so far.
My PT is on holiday for a few weeks so I’m setting a mini goal for myself to get to 10kg total weight loss in time for my next session on 15th Aug. That would be a third of the way to my end goal 💪💪💪

I used to hang out on the low carb threads, run by the amazing BIWI. (Under a different name, obvs).

Loooooads of people stalled on there, and as long as they kept at it were inevitably rewarded with a big whoosh almost overnight.
Hold your nerve!

Secondbreakfastclub · 29/07/2025 17:43

Hi. I posted once at the beginning but am posting again as I feel like things have stalled, and not just the weight loss.

I’m W9D1. Took 2.5 for 4 weeks. Appetite suppression, food noise gone, no side effects. I moved up to 5mg on week 5 and was bit worried as I was on holiday at the time but apart from a bit of constipation I had no side effects and continued to have appetite suppression. However in weeks 7 and 8 my appetite is back with a vengeance and the food noise has returned. I’m still making really healthy choices but I haven’t lost anything in the last 2 weeks. I feel like it’s stopped working for me.

I saw my endocrinologist before I went away (he prescribed it to me and I’m still under him following thyroidectomy last year) and he gave me a prescription for another 2 months of 5mg as at the time it was working well.

Has anyone else had this where your appetite has really come back and the loss has stalled? I feel hungry all the time now and keep thinking about food. I’m wondering whether to move up to 7.5.

Sorry for the essay!

farfallarocks · 29/07/2025 18:03

Some great loses on here!
Back from holiday and down another 2 kgs amazingly, stuck to fish but drank wine every day!
9kg down in total and suppression very high still on 3.75. constipation woes still continue!
have upped water and trying husk and magnesium. meep. small price to pay though.

Quick question does anybody else find it difficult to actually eat more than one meal a day?
I was in the office today and hoping to meet my son for lunch but he couldn't make it, so I popped out to get some lunch from the market near the office. Couldn't finish my katsu chicken & noodles and now still too full to even think about food.

healthjourney · 29/07/2025 19:22

@Librariesrule personally, I always eat 3 times a day but often those are really small portions. I find that if I don't split my food up across the day I can't get anything close to my protein and fibre targets so I'll eat 3 times even if I'm not really 'hungry' but this way I never get uncomfortably full.

Thornrose · 29/07/2025 19:36

@Secondbreakfastclub I felt exactly like this after 6 weeks on 2.5. Very suddenly lost all side effects, hungry, no weight loss and felt as though I hadn't jabbed.

I did 3.75 on Saturday and it's kicked in again. I struggled to finish dinner this evening and I've lost another 1.5 lbs.

I do 3 meals during the week but they're small.

Lunch is generally tuna or chicken with salad.

I can't face carbs, so protein plus veg for dinner. I had some new potatoes tonight as I felt a bit dizzy today. I really struggled and only ate a couple.

Thornrose · 29/07/2025 19:47

Today was interesting! Some colleagues were talking about people who use weight loss meds and wow, it wasn't good.

I couldn't believe the strength of feeling about other people's choices. 3 of them are overweight and apparently constantly dieting, using weight watchers etc. Yet, they were so judgemental.

They were also saying how awful people look in the face and how their hands age etc. I sat there and said nothing I'm afraid.

Bloozie · 29/07/2025 19:53

Does anyone else think the less they eat, the less they want to eat? Like, the suppression and food noise elimination is stronger if you really restrict your calories, but comes back if you've had a takeaway or whatever?

Because I think that's what I'm noticing. At a festival this weekend, ate and drank more than I should have, felt like my appetite was normal.

Back on track this week, haven't had time for lunch either day as just too busy to stop, and feel like I need never eat ever again. (Obvs will).

Thanks. But a good proportion of people on the May thread are around the same amount/time. Just keep plodding on…. Personally I’ve not had much suppression, which annoyed me at first, but now I quite like that I have to use willpower/make good decisions too. I’m only on 5mg and a bit nervous of moving up the doses in case I can’t eat! I don’t count any calories, I’ve just tried to eat good healthy food. Lots of veg, fibre and protein. I’m addicted to Greek yogurt and seeds!

No one needs to know.

SomethingAboutYou · 29/07/2025 20:13

I'm definitely hungrier in the morning after a large evening meal @Bloozie

@Thornrose that's disappointing about the bad talk. Sounds a bit like jealousy though, especially if they've used weight watchers and it's not worked as well. Everyone seems to think their way is the right way 🤦‍♀️

Edited

Sort of, but I’ve always thought that I am hungrier after eating loads of junk like takeaways.
