I have noticed if I don’t drink as much water I don’t lose any weight. The more water I drink, the more weight comes off, so really trying to drink min 1.5l of water each day. I am on W6 D2 and have lost 13lb in total since I started, and been on holiday for a week, where I only gained 0.5lb. I did go to 5mg and had 2nd dose yesterday. Other than mild nausea, not having any SE. Now wondering do I just stay on 5mg or go up to 7.5mg for next pen. Has anyone made the leap to 7.5mg yet?

Me start 7.5 today not had any real SE as yet and steady losing 1-2lb a week hit the 1 stone loss today surprised as got my period so wasn’t expecting to lose any but still managed 2 lb loss

First social event last night in a while, lots of comments on my weight loss and first time in forever I didn't feel self concious all night!

FoxRedPuppy · 20/07/2025 13:13

Have a NSV, I went out last night and wore a top I haven’t been able to wear for 4 years!

I finally stopped feeling sick yesterday and actually felt hungry without nausea.

it’s jab time tomorrow but I’m going back to 2.5mg.

I weighed a few days ago:

SW 88kg
CW 79.8kg
GW 70kg

I really didn't see where the weight loss had gone from untill I came away and put my bikini on and it was flapping about around my bum 😱 sooo that's where iv lost from my flat arse ! And around my rib cage area but not were I really needed it my belly area haha , I'm doing okay food wise salad and meat, fruit and I did have a small square of cake yesterday and today a light orange mousse but I'm not going to worry while away I will worry when I'm home . I'm in a much better head space now but dying in this heat but the plus side it's forcing me to drink more fluids !

Hi
I go on holiday on the 4th, my last dose is Tuesday and then golden dose the week after. Has anyone been away, stopped and then continued where they left off when back? I’m going to order my new pen for when I come back but unsure whether to stick with the 5mg or go back to the start with there being a 2-3 week gap in between

Hi - I was away week before last. I was supposed to do 2nd 5mg jab on the day we flew out but chose not to. Not because I wanted to stuff my face but because I was worried more 5mg in my system might cause side effects (haven’t had any so far really)
So anyway, here’s what I found

  1. I still made quite healthy choices eg. Breakfast was feta and olives and nice tomatoes oooh and nice bread
  2. the nice bread (and pasta) which are things I don’t eat on MJ did cause a bit of wind !!
  3. by day 7 the healthy choices were out of the window and I had a McDonald’s and big bag of Maltesers at the airport coming home. Maybe that was a last hurrah though before going back to MJ

SO…… despite the healthy choices I put on nearly a stone (portions were huge though and I ate more than I wanted to be kind to the restaurants) 🤪 BUT by day 6 of being at home it has nearly come off again so it wasn’t ’real’ weight gain. I did the 5mg jab as soon as I was home and nothing exciting to report - it was just the same as the week before holiday - no extra side effects

Not sure if this info is useful - but for me I would skip a week again when I go on holiday. It seems to still be in my system and easy to get back into the good habits when I’m back.

W5D1. Stayed at 2.5mg because it is still doing good things for me.

NSV and also a bit annoying - my favourite bra is now too big. I’ll get a bit more wear out it before it’s ridiculous, but…

Anyone else on HRT? The nurse has increased my progesterone to 3 x caps in an effort to mitigate against the recent finding that Mounjaro interferes with its absorption. She said the guidelines say she should increase it, but don’t give guidance as to what TO, so she just whacked another pill on my prescription.

My period was due but hasn’t arrived. No chance I’m pregnant so assuming it’s the extra progesterone.

Just wondered what everyone else is doing. We tried patches but they didn’t agree with me - wouldn’t stick, gave me sores. I’m on the waiting list for a coil.

I’m on HRT, but I already had a mirena coil so don’t need any extra progesterone. I started on gel oestrogen, but just moved to patches.

Mainly cos we go camping/campervanning a lot and I’m going on a trek in Southern Africa in September and don’t want to be facing with gel in the desert tents!

I love my mirena coil. Before the MJ it was the best thing I’ve ever done for my body!

I find the gel really faffy so was hoping the patches would be a silver bullet for everything. They were not. Hope they’re more co-operative for you. Your adventures sound fun…

And tell me more about the joy of the coil. I’ve never had one and feels weird starting at 46, but I’m loving your positive endorsement.

FoxRedPuppy · 20/07/2025 16:38

I had it out in 3 years ago when I was 41. Main reason was my periods started to get really heavy and also all over the place (two in one month). It wasn’t the most pleasant experience having it fitted, but I barely have periods anymore. Sometimes I get a small amount of spotting. But no PMT.

I love not having periods, and having my contraception sorted. I’ve never had any issues with it. I check the strings every no and then. I will definitely be getting another one (you have to have it changed every 5 years when on HRT).

The gel was too faffy. I kept forgetting then. Having to undress in morning. I don’t even use moisturiser so I found it hard to get used to waiting for it to absorb.

The gel takes AGES to dry on me. I don't think i'm absorbent. I'm a duck.

Thanks for reassuring words about coil. And I'm glad you're feeling less sicky at the mo.

I can second a vote for a mirena coil! I've had one for about 7/8 years (I've had it changed once, horrible) but I haven't had a period in that time. It's awesome. I'm 42 and not quite peri yet, but my sister is 9 years older and on HRT, and she also loves her coil!

Focusispower · 20/07/2025 18:30

@Bloozie i also had a bra NSV - I was going through a bag of summer clothes and I found my old bras - some lovely Calvin Klein ones and a couple of M&S from their Rosie range and they fit!! They have all been packed away since 2017 and I found out I was pregnant with DD. I’m suprised that I hadn’t binned them tbh but I’m very grateful as I have essentially been rotating two flesh coloured t-shirt bras that were practical and boring!.

No HRT here but I’m 45 and think I’ve had a few symptoms of peri so no doubt will be be edging closer. I have found that those symptoms (apart from insomnia) have improved since taking MJ though.

BadgerFace · 20/07/2025 19:14

I love all these NSV stories! I have two t-shirts I’ve kept since about 2015 and never been quite thin enough for, so interested to see if I can get there…

I also reviewed my order from last night and have seen I ordered my two new T-shirts in different sizes so my subconscious is clearly hedging my bets!!

Little update for the 5mg club

I jabbed my second 5mg last wed and this week there was nausea and for the past 2 days I just feel off. This could be down to being constipated and I took a laxative and since then I've just felt off. Managed to go to the bathroom and the tummy pain has gone but still feeling nauseous.
Got a note from the Dr to order 5mg again or go up to 7.5mg .... I'm not really losing weight since I got to 5mg so not sure what to do.
Anyone gone up to 7.5mg yet?

Also I should add that I'm still not getting suppression just eating less because of nausea.

SunandMoor · 20/07/2025 21:33

I have taken the plunge and jabbed 5mg tonight I have been on 2.5mg for 6 weeks with no SE. I will let you know how I get on!

Crinklecat · 20/07/2025 21:52

@SunandMoor snap! Good luck to us!

Gingercar · 20/07/2025 22:00

Fingers crossed you’ll be fine. It didn’t affect me at all.

ChiaraMontague · 21/07/2025 06:51

NSV for me today too. Tried on a lovely pair of trousers that were too small 6 weeks ago and they do up! Not quite comfortable enough to wear yet but I think another 1-2 weeks should do it 😊

SewerOrLess · 21/07/2025 08:20

I've just ordered second 5mg pen. Obviously I then spent last night desperate for snacks. Not hungry just bored and it was quite difficult, particularly as the kids had left an open packet of mini rolls on the side. It was only the idea of side effects that stopped me, and also I'm 2lbs away from losing two stones which feels like a massive milestone.

While I'm still losing at this rate, and not having SE (but did have in first week of 5mg) I'm not prepared to attempt 7.5mg.

I think the snacking last night was because I was watching telly but casting it from my phone in a way that meant I couldn't use my phone to play games or browse so I was literally twiddling my thumbs. I'm going to see the walking pad up next time I use that app so I'll stroll instead.

SunandMoor · 21/07/2025 08:50

Update on the 5mg, I took it last night about 8pm and today I am fine however I have found that my favourite morning coffee tastes horrible! I do have a dry mouth but no other SE yet!

Nerdippy · 21/07/2025 08:54

I took my second 5mg dose on Saturday and am struggling with feelings of nausea and not wanting my dinner. When I do eat, I feel that the nausea subsides a bit, but I'm really not fancying anything much at the moment.

Last night I started to eat some chicken, sweetcorn and pasta and only managed half before feeling really full. This is totally different to when I was on the 2.5mg with hardly any reduction in appetite and no feelings of nausea.

At this rate I'll be reducing to 3.75mg, certainly cannot consider 7.5mg at the moment.
