Experiences with pens which arrive not as cold as expected

I usually order my Mounjaro on Sunday and it is delivered on Thursday. This week it was unexpectedly delivered a day earlier and I wasn’t home. By the time I got it the ice pack was fully melted and slightly cooler than a defrosted one but not much. The supplier and Royal Mail had both sent me emails confirming the Weds delivery but I hadn’t checked emails as was busy. So technically it’s my fault I didn’t get it fully chilled.

I have been on Mounjaro almost 18 months now and think I had a not fully cold on arrival pen last summer. I still used it and am pretty sure it still worked. Do you have experiences to share re effectiveness?

No personal experience but it sounds like it would be fine.
I would only worry if the pen had been warm & you was not planning on using it for a while. From what you said your one was still coolish.
For example with temps being high the next few days say it was meant to be delivered this Friday but you missed delivery & you ended up getting in on Monday. You opened it up. Ice packs were fully melted & it was noticeably warm.
Then I would be concerned.

I’ve had similar twice now from my pharmacist (their packaging is rubbish) so I’m going to switch. I can only speak to my own experience, and it didn’t have a negative impact but not something I want to risk on an ongoing basis!

I asked the customer service team and they sent me a bit of a word salad reply.

I don't know if this helps but my supplier sent me this email with my last order.

"Your order is on the way. If appropriate, your medication will arrive in a wool-insulated parcel. This contains a gel pack which may not be frozen on arrival, this is normal. Rest assured the parcel will stay within temperature for up to 72 hours in transit."

I received one on a 24 hour delivery. The ice packs were defrosted but cool to the touch and the pen felt like it was at room temperature. I put it straight in the fridge as I assumed that it can only have been at (possibly) room temperature for a matter of hours, and that online check tool suggested it was fine. I started using it about a month later and it was absolutely fine.

On the other hand I had a few 10mg pens from a pharmacy that's been criticised for its inconsistent cold storage, and although they arrived cold they appeared to have no effectiveness at all. My weight loss stalled for the three months I was using them. I do wonder now if they'd not been stored correctly before being sent out. So many people have seemed to have had 10mg pens that haven't worked for them I was wondering about a bad batch, but now I wonder if maybe a delivered batch was not properly stored or something. Could just be coincidence I suppose.

Thanks for that. It was in a wool parcel and was less than 48 hours from leaving the supplier to being in my fridge. I will use it and report back how I find it.

I had one a while back that was not fridge temperature but equally not in any way warm. I just used it and it was fine.
