Mounjaro/Wegovy with > 5 stone/30kg to lose - thread 9!

1000 replies

MooBaggage · 08/07/2025 08:50

New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

Ooooo thanks!

i’ve now thoroughly wound myself up reading that thread mentioned. I try to avoid them too because I know they drain all energy but good golly!

people really truly do not do their research before ordering. On what planet do they continually expect to lose literally stones over night??

InfoSecInTheCity · 09/07/2025 16:32

I think they all watched the Dr Who episode with the cute little Adipose fat aliens that pop out of people in the middle of the night and scamper off chuckling and cooing. (If I were to mention that I have a stress toy version of one of those cute little aliens would that make me a very very geeky person or just a very geeky person).

Emas82 · 09/07/2025 16:44

To be fair to that poster, she admits she's absolutely clueless! Spending all that money and not actually knowing how it works is pretty worrying!

SilenceInside · 09/07/2025 16:50

I always feel a a little guilty when I read threads like those, because I did lose lots of weight really quickly at the beginning. But I was 22st with a BMI of 50, and I think it’s a very different situation to someone starting with a BMI in the low 30s.

Darlinghag · 09/07/2025 16:55

@SilenceInside sure - its definitely more than common, especially if up until the point of starting MJ, a person wasn’t in a deficit etc. but plenty don’t too!

and this person has lost decent numbers - so really they aren’t far off into your category!

I just really hate the idea that this kind of mindset enforces the negative stereotypes of the jabs, its already challenging enough!

FlourPowa · 09/07/2025 18:08

Hi! I have been on and off these threads but always have a read at the end of the day and find you all so inspiring!

i have weighed myself this morning and I am 2lbs off a 4 stone loss which is absolutely mind blowing. Started at the end of Jan, starting weight 18stone 4lbs, currently 14stone 6lbs. i am aiming for 10 stone so half way there now

I feel absolutely NO different in myself but I didn’t really notice when I was putting the weight on 🤷‍♀️. Although I went a wedding on Saturday I wore an outfit I’d NEVER have been able to wear before. And I’ve had a couple of NSV, I’ve put off going abroad because when I went in January, I was thissss close to needing an extender which there is absolutely no problem in but it was a bit of f wake up call and started off my mounjaro journey. But I went on a flight last week and was absolutely fine doing up the seat belt and I’m even considering taking my DS to Thorpe park in the holidays but I’m still worried I won’t fit (I’m 5 foot so really show the weight)

My only problem is STILL vomiting the day after a jab, I had to ring in sick for work yesterday. I’m a nurse and can’t be running off to vomit 5 x a day, i contacted my previous provider but they didn’t get back to me but I have moved now so will contact them.

Sorry that was really long but I just feel so excited that I’m finally getting there

RobinEllacotStrike · 09/07/2025 22:09

That’s amazing @FlourPowa!

great work.

alltablenochairs · 09/07/2025 22:49

With the talk about wedding outfits I thought I'd update on my wedding outfit saga. No, I haven't just got married (been married 18 years!), but the long timers here will remember that last Christmas I brought a very, very expensive silk dress on Ebay in a size 16. At the time I was around a size 24 and determined that the Killer Dress was going to fit me.

It didn't. I've still got a a bit of a way to go. So enter New Killer dress. Which I didn't end up wearing either. On the end I went for a dress I had packed for an entirely different reason with some white linen trousers. As the wedding was in Cornwall and I live approx 700 miles away it was absolutely scorchingly boiling hot but a good day.

When the Killer Dress does fit me I'll take a photo and stick it on here!

Nice one and epic work with the not needing an extender either. Hopefully you find a solution to the MJ vomiting because it doesn't sound that great.

You could split your dose, @FlourPowa, so that you never get such a high peak of the medication in your body. Eg: I'm on 2.5mg every 3 or 4 days, so I never inject 5mg, but across a week I get (approx) that dose.

This website allows you to see the blood levels for any dose schedule:

https://glp1plotter.com/

Your provider won't be able to advise you on this as it isn't the official protocol, but many tacitly accept that this works for or is necessary for some people.

MooBaggage · 09/07/2025 23:50

@alltablenochairs I've got a killer dress too - was hoping to wear it at my son's graduation on July 23rd, but I also won't be quite small enough! I have a standby dress though, which fits me right now, so all is good.

The killer dress's next target is an October weekend in Barcelona - but let's see - it might well end up being a Christmas killer dress 😁

MooBaggage · 09/07/2025 23:51

Yes I was wondering about a split dose too @FlourPowa . I haven't tried this myself but it might be worth giving it a go?

@InfoSecInTheCity The "then what?" question - completely mindblowing!! How to live life for the rest of your life as a slim, fit and healthy person - and like you've said before, people who you meet from now on will never have known the previous you - it's such a headfuck - in a good way.

The only thing I know is that you have to promise to please keep checking in with us, because you have given us the amazing weight chart and now blooming air fry potato skin crisps that I have bookmarked to try - there must be more so don't go anywhere...! 😍

Hi all 🙋‍♀️ Fell off the last thread, I'm in Scotland so our schools have already been off for a few weeks, so been busy juggling DS, work, life etc...

All good though. I weigh every few weeks and was another 5lb down when jumped on the gym scales last week. Just 2lbs off 3 stone which is my target for going to Cyprus on 30th July. Hopefully make that and maybe even a little more

Bit more difficult to get to the gym due to school holidays but so far managed to maintain the 3 times per week commitment I made to myself. Also some treats creeping in so need to keep an eye on that!

Was struggling on 5mg, felt permanently hungover and exhausted so dropped back to 3.75 and trying to exert some will power

Have caught up with this and previous thread will do my best to keep up!

Another 3 or 4 stone to go which although daunting seems achievable long term. Thanks for all the continued inspiration

Onwards and downwards 💪 ✨️ 🙏 ❤️

Carolwithane · 10/07/2025 06:45

Also while on 5mg felt really low and flat

Tbh I'm not sure if it's MJ related or peri menopause. Has anyone experienced low mood?

Anyway can't have that especially during school holidays, which are tough enough 😂 Seems to have gone now back on 3.75mg 🤞

Thanks for this. It's the same info the premium version of Shotsy gives, but now I know I don't have to continue past my free trial 👏👏👏

Yes! I have struggled with low mood really badly. I went from 3.75mg to 5mg and became Eeyore, Tigger left the building. I dropped back down to 3.75mg and have slowly increased from there by two clicks when needed and the low mood has got better over time, (I have been on my for a year in Aug.)
Even now I have no emotions, no highs, no lows, its like the joy has gone from my life, even the weight loss is just a matter of fact thing, its really weird.
I am also peri but this isnt peri, thats a whole other kettle of fish!🙄

@MabelSpan and @Carolwithane - I don't know much about this but there's a poster on this board called Histoscientist who posted a few times about her low mood on Mounjaro, which she is addressing with an l-tyrosine supplement. You might like to search her name and have a look at her posts. Obviously we're all strangers on the internet so I can't vouch for her but she sounds knowledgeable and it might be a good starting point for you to look into for yourselves.

RobinEllacotStrike · 10/07/2025 10:21

Just back from an outdoor summer exercise class I've been in for a few years now - haven't seen many in this small group since last summer.

English people - "oh my Robin you are looking Very Well"
Eastern European person "Oh My God you've lost so much weight!!"

Did make me laugh!

alltablenochairs · 10/07/2025 10:54

Super crap tip alert incoming.

I'm inundated with those woolly sheets you get with the MJ. It's been used as mulch on the garden, weed suppressing fabric, gone in the compost bin, given to the cats to shred......
Ive started chopping it into strips and leaving it on my bird feeder. I'm fairly close to some woodland so I get a fair few birds in the garden. They seem to love pulling strands off it.

I get this from cat food delivery too.
I also put some out for the birds, I put it in my compost bin, and its excellent to use to line the cats litter tray - its super deoderising and stops any smells. Very effective.

Last summer I tried felting the wool to make a cat coccoon but it did not work out. Was fun to try though.

It's interesting re: low mood. I'm on sertraline and have gone through a v bad few years, with separation/divorce/new start - all very stressful etc. So I feel like I've got a permanent low mood, which is very unlike 'old' me - I'm absolutely fine during the day - I have a busy job, lovely family and friends and dp - but I really struggle at night to banish the horrible thoughts. At least I'm not self-medicating with food/alcohol any more, but I wonder if MJ isn't helping me to get myself out of feeling like this. Will do some research!
