New thread for anyone with more than 5 stone/30kg to lose. All welcome, whichever part of the journey you're on.

We have kiwis, hammocks, weight loss charts, an unhealthy obsession with Vinted and enough water to sink several ships 😊

No discount codes please - there's a separate thread for those.

That is freaking amazing progress, @CanIGoHomeNowPlease!

(I feel like ordering the exact same ones to see if the magic will work for me... That's how this works, isn't it? 🤔)

I really love these jeans - they are the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn. I have actually lounged in them. Before I would have taken my jeans off the moment I walked in the door.

I've a long leg so they are reasonably cropped on me but work with trainers or Birkenstocks.

I've been keeping an eye out on vinted for a pair but they haven't filtered through yet.

Emas82 · 24/07/2025 12:20

I was lured in by a Facebook ad to Halara jeans and omg sooooo comfy and loads of different styles. I bought one pair from Halara and then another 2 from vinted as there seems to be a lot of people selling them bnwt. I can recommend!

Reginaphalangeeeee · 24/07/2025 15:27

@Emas82are they true to size? I have no idea what actual size I am. Ordered a few M&S and next 18’s as have one pair of trousers from each shop that seem to fit. Long time since I was an 18 and when I put my current weight and measurements into Chat GPT it said I was size 22-24. Well that's what I was wearing 4 stone ago. 🤷‍♀️

I also worry with stretch/baggy stuff it make me look bigger, do you think the wide leg trousers are flattering?

I would say they are generous. I get a large (but petite length cos I'm short) and I think large is either 16-18 or 18-20 in their sizes. I would usually wear an 18 from say, Matalan, somewhere like that.
They are incredibly stretchy but give more support than leggings. I have wide legs ones, boot cut and flared, I think the flares would be really flattering if I had got them in a petite but I bought normal length and can really only wear them on dry days!
I'm not much of a fashionista but I wouldn't wear them if they looked truly awful (I don't wear leggings out of the house because of the lumps and bumps, if that helps for perspective)

QueenOfHiraeth · 24/07/2025 19:56

@Reginaphalangeeeee OMG I'm so glad it's not just me who is bemused by jeans sizes! I checked my measurements on the M&S sizing chart and it said size 20 from top to toe but am sure I'm nowhere near that - I've bought some size 14 tops recently. I'm scared to even trust sizing charts now!
I have the M&S Sienna straight jeans but had to get a size 18 which seems much larger than others on here are fitting into (I'm 5'6 tall and about 12 stone) although they are starting to feel a bit loose

InfoSecInTheCity · 24/07/2025 20:01

Those size calculators are crap @QueenOfHiraeth I’m comfortably in size 12 now, can do up size 10 M&S jeans but they’re snugger than I’d like.

my measurements according to the M&S sizing chart say I’m a size 14 or 16.

NewbieMJ · 24/07/2025 20:49

Agree re sizing. I have just sent a stack of size 18's back to M & Co, as all too big, yet I am 13 stone 11 and only 5 foot 4/5. Bonkers.

My belly seems to be out of kilter with the rest of my body and I think clothes might well slip off when it finally goes😂

I am/was wearing size 18, some small 20's but all of a sudden they are too big! I was a 22-24 when I embarked on MJ, now 5 stone down. It seems to now be having a bigger impact on my clothes size. I am kind of wary to buy too much, as I am not wanting it all too big too soon - saying that, I have made a small fortune on e-bay and Vinted!

MooBaggage · 24/07/2025 21:45

I'm both perplexed and frustrated, because my current size 18 skinny fit jeans from Yours are very comfortable/almost too big on the bum now, but lovely and comfy, so I ordered another pair of Yours size 18 jeans - slightly different cut - actually less skinny and I much prefer them and really want to wear them - except they're too small 🙄 I can't even do them up - am guessing I've got half a stone to go before they'll be OK.

Just why...?! 🙄😁

Clothes sizing is wack. My size large harem pants from Roman actually fell off on my dog walk tonight. Luckily we were on a quiet stretch of canal😂. I weigh 92 kilos, how can I not be a large?

RonMJ · 25/07/2025 07:37

I’ve got two pairs of cords from M&S that are the same size, same style, same code on the labels. The only difference is one is blue and the other is black. One pair slips on and fits beautifully and the other has a good 2 inches gap and I can’t do them up. Argghhh!

OnwardsDownwards · 25/07/2025 07:47

I really want to try the Halara jeans, one of my friends has a pair and they look really good.

@NewbieMJ I have so much more belly than I used to! I’ve dropped from a 24/26 to a 20/22, but half the tops in my wardrobe in that size don’t work on me in my new shape. It’s a pain! I’m hoping it goes down a bit at some point…

Sizing is very weird, totally agree with everyone on that!

MooBaggage · 25/07/2025 08:12

Random weigh in and I've lost 2lbs - am in the 15 stones and have lost exactly 60lbs!! 😍

13.1.25 SW 20st 3lbs BMI 43
25.7.25 CW 15st 13lbs BMI 33.9

My weekly loss has increased slightly since moving up to 7.5mg 3 x weeks ago, but with no side effects at all, so I keep doubting it's working as I'm not even getting the nausea/headaches I used to get in the first couple of days after jabbing.

So as it's payday today, I'll be ordering another 7.5mg pen - really chuffed with how it's going at the moment.

Onwards and downwards for us all 💪

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/07/2025 10:53

NSV I am retiring my size 16 jeans today - we have now moved on from being able to make them wearable with a belt. Oh & I also need more holes in my belts.

they are the dark denim Tu barrell leg jeans everyone on S&B was raving about and I've really loved wearing them. I did buy the same jeans in a size 14 a while ago but they were too tight in the waist and I RETURNED THEM <sigh>

I have a large storage bag where I am retiring clothing I really like and may sell. Other clothes go to charity shop.

MooBaggage · 25/07/2025 11:05

@RobinEllacotStrike I am making myself keep clothes that I get from Vinted that are a bit too small - which is a total headfuck as in the past, they would just keep being too small or get even smaller...!

It's so strange to think I will be in these in 2 - 3 months' time...

I've changed my clothes size on Vinted from 22s and 20s to 20s and 18s. No chance of 16s just yet, but I'm hopeful for 16s in bottoms by the end of August 😊

Bloody marvellous @MooBaggage and @RobinEllacotStrike Well done!

It's most odd @OnwardsDownwards - I am suddenly (much more noticeably) shrinking everywhere, and my belly now seems to be out of proportion to the rest of me. From the front, I have a lovely hour glass shape, then I turn side on...yikes!

Bunged a size 16 black jeggings in the Tesco trolley last night, as all mine are far too big and I love a pair of jeggings for pottering about. They bloody fit! My God, I can hardly take it in.

The kitchen roll effect is certainly kicking off now, like you noted too @RobinEllacotStrike in one of your recent posts. My aim was to get to a nice size 14 which seems within reach now.

Another pound off today, which is brilliant after my never ending plateau. Anyone feeling despondent about slow loss, please know that it really does work - just keep trusting the process. Don't lose heart. My plodding on has got me through. We can do this💪

Well done.

you’ve also prompted me to change my clothes size settings. Changed them from 22 and 24 to 18 and 20.

not in an 18 yet, but I bought some 18 jeans as my size 20 jeans are quite loose now.

gimmemounjaro · 25/07/2025 13:33

Brilliant to see all the NSVs, everyone is doing so well 💪

It’s so hard to keep up, cognitively, when you start whizzing down the clothing sizes. I still find it hard to get my head around it.

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/07/2025 13:48

If there are any Manners London fans on this thread they are having a 48 hour garage sale if you want to treat yourself.

I've picked up a couple of jumpsuits, some body suits and some swimwear on sale. In a smaller size. I love her clothes and I'm a big fan of being able to go braless, especially as its a lovely treat if you are large in the bust. Her clothes are made from a super thick, stretchy & supportive jersey. Most styles are fitted around the bust and are designed so you be braless. Last week I went dancing in my yellow Manners dress and it was really supportive even when dancing.

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/07/2025 13:52

I'm imagining this winters WFH look might be jumpsuits, large cosy jumpers, thick socks & boots.

gimmemounjaro · 25/07/2025 15:56

RobinEllacotStrike · 25/07/2025 13:50

sorry here is a link if you want a look at Manners London https://www.mannersldn.com/

Ooh that’s lovely stuff. I am on a strict regime at the moment of no more clothes until finished losing weight unfortunately. But please keep posting news of sales like these - I love the zip jumpsuit and puff pants and the dresses 😍

MooBaggage · 25/07/2025 15:58

Yep I'm not buying new clothes for another year - am obviously spending all my money on Vinted though.... And today I treated myself to a multipack of size 18 knickers from Tesco - I'd got a multipack from Asda a few weeks ago, but was still using my old size 24s, but really really can't keep wearing them as I can now tuck my boobs in them....😀

I have a men’s snoodie thing I got from Sainsbury’s. It’s the really thick teddy bear fleece, size men’s xxl so massive on me now but it is designed to be oversized so was always pretty massive and it comes to mid calf. It’s one of my prized possessions, I can pull my arms and legs into it and it’s like a sleeping bag with arms and the ability to walk around. I lived in it over the winter and wore it for every non-video work call. Did have to relent and remove it when video calling though because it looks less than professional 😂

52soon · 25/07/2025 17:59

Ordered myself some size 20 dresses from Roman and they fit, I was in size 24 in March so very pleased with that, I think I might have got away with an 18 in one of them, scales looks like I’ve Stayed the same this week but I’ve gone up to 7.5mg this week so hopefully get a loss next week.
