Dosing 3.75mg from a 5mg pen

due to side effects on the 5mg, I’m trying 3.75mg instead which is much better.

does anyone know if the pen only delivers four doses via the click method regardless of how how many clicks you do? I’ve obviously only been doing 45 clicks so wasn’t sure if I could continue to use the pen directly or if I need to use a seperate syringe now I’ve done four doses? Thanks

It's the number of clicks not the number of times you've used it. Normally it's 4 x 60 clicks, or 240 clicks. You can do 5 doses at 45 clicks (5 x45 is 225) without needing to use separate syringes.

I've been doing the same, 45 clicks on a 10mg pen gives me 7.5ml. I've been doing this for 6 months as the pens are so expensive so it lasts a bit longer and I know I'm not meant to but it works for me 😁

Can someone do the maths for me for a 7.5mg pen? I tried going up but it’s too high a dose so would prefer to drop back down to 5 and don’t want to waste the rest, one jab done already. I’m scrambling my brain trying to work out what dose would be in the remaining clicks divided equally 😂

@PricklyLikeCactus what exactly do you want to work out? Did you mean what if you divided the remaining clicks in the pen equally?

So that would be 240 - 60 for the full dose you've already done, giving you 180 clicks remaining. 180 divided by 4 would be 45 clicks, so you could do another 4 doses of 45 clicks which is 5.625mg per dose. Does that help?

Another way of calculating

60 clicks = 7.5 mg
60/7.5 = 8 clicks
So 8 clicks = 1 mg
(check 8x7.5=60)
5mg =5x8 clicks =40 clicks
