Is this becoming ridiculous or is it just happening to me?

Have been on MJ for a year, now maintenance. Never had any problems but for this order my prescriber is asking for more and more shots with “close fitting” clothes. We are on the fourth round now. I have had to buy a new top, too close fitting for my liking, just to wear it for 1 minute and take a picture!

I think they’ve all been inspected recently by the general pharmaceuticals council. I believe most have been given enforcement notices. Maybe this is why.

No, it's not ridiculous and it's not just you.

I don’t think it’s ridiculous. It’s quite a basic/low standard to get a medication that you want to get.

You say it takes a minute. So a minute every four weeks.

Couldn’t you have used an elastic band to make something you already own tighter?

Mencia · 04/07/2025 10:07

i think maybe there is a misunderstanding here

i am not complaining about having to take pictures, i am fully on board with this

i am complaining about the prescriber requesting more and more close-fitting garments, to the point it feels odd, as if they want a picture in scuba diving gear

sweatty Betty leggings and t shirt, they are close-fitting, what else do they want?

it is the fourth round of pictures!

It needs to be as close to naked as possible really, that close. If I wore just a normal t shirt you wouldn’t be able to tell if I was a size 8 or a size 12, if I wear my yoga material vest you can see my size clearly.

tweetypi · 04/07/2025 10:08

If it helps, one of them said I had to pull my top up so they got to see my actual belly 😩 I didn’t enjoy that one! I just wear a vest and pants normally.

Mencia · 04/07/2025 10:09

So they will be asking for a fifth round of shots

What's to stop you just pinning clothes you already have to make them fit tight and show your body shape? Something like a vest pinned tight behind you with your leggings - they'd be able to see your full silhouette without you having to strip to your undies or buy something new.

I won’t do that
that is too intrusive

I just take my top off and send a photo of me in my bra and sports leggings. If they want to see my gut, they can look at it!!

Never been declined 😂

BodenCardiganNot · 04/07/2025 10:12

Why? They need to make sure that they are prescribing safely.

RussianDoll76 · 04/07/2025 10:12

I did vest top and leggings and used a claw clip at the back to pull it in. I understand they may need to monitor this as my friend got her jabs by putting a cushion up her top . They must see a lot of that 😂. I can’t wait for the day I need a cushion 😂😂!!

Mencia · 04/07/2025 10:12

Nothing
this is what i did last night for the fourth round of pictures
on top of buying a t-shirt two sizes smaller than i would usually buy
but i am expecting another request as it appears the prescriber is enjoying this game

OP posts:
morbidcuriosity · 04/07/2025 10:13

I tucked a t shirt in and pulled it far at the back, then breath out.
It did make me laugh to myself the last pic I took how I am now trying to make myself look fatter in pics , where I used to hide behind people and hide my body.

F2F I would not have any problem
over the internet and not knowing who is going to see it, big no

Possibly time to accept you won’t be continuing to get your medication then.

Fine with it
Just be clear with customers then
(they have not been clear with me; in fact they told me I could be on maintenance for as long as I wanted and now they say this is not possible. To be honest with you, feel scammed, as I would have switched providers if I would have known).

That's not happening!

I will wear light coloured leggings and tight light coloured vest top, but other parts of my body are not getting bared in a photo. I would not use a pharmacy that insisted on that as it is not required even with the new guidelines.

I went for a recent Dr appointment and they asked if they could take a photo of a part of my body to send with the referral and they were very careful about showing me how, for my protection, it was only that part that had been captured in the photograph, it was not able to be identified as me, and where the image would be used/stored/sent.

I would perhaps consent to a video with a pharmacist if it becomes necessary (not recorded and no screenshots). We have no idea how secure these pharmacies IT systems are.

Avengersassembly · 04/07/2025 10:22

I took a picture in my bra and pants, couldn’t be bothered with faffing around to find clothes they would accept.

I think you’re associating this company with a simple online retailer. They are not. They have strict regulations and guidelines on who will access these images and they will be professionals who see all sorts of bodies in order to prescribe a controlled substance.

BrunchBarBandit · 04/07/2025 10:28

I just send pics of me in bra and knickers. Side view as I look slim from the front as I am tall but from the side it’s clear I am overweight (no longer obese - yay!) from my belly and my bum.

Justformounjaro · 04/07/2025 10:29

I don’t think it’s unreasonable that they ask for pictures that give a true reflection of your body size. I’ve been asked to do a video and stand on scales. I swap suppliers and had to show my bare stomach this time. I decided that since I’ve been wearing a bikini round the house and garden because of the heat, I’d just submit pictures wearing one and be done with it.

I’m still very clearly overweight and never had a problem with photos being accepted, perhaps you are close to ideal weight and it’s more difficult to tell so they need more photos.

I have read of people saying they have bought from their local pharmacy - is that an option you could look into?

HansHolbein · 04/07/2025 10:31

Also send pictures of myself in bra and knickers.

Bunny2607 · 04/07/2025 10:31

Can you take a photo in a swimming costume?

CatsorDogsrule · 04/07/2025 10:36

Like a pp, I've used hair bulldog-type clips at my rear to pull looser clothes in more tightly for a photo. A vest top/ tight t-shirt and leggings should be acceptable. I'd draw the line at showing my bare stomach though, not even my DH has to see that terrible sight!
