Wasn't there a thread by MN partnering with Med Express?

It wasn't well-received by posters but I can't find it now.

I'm getting ads for Med Express promoting a "MN" discount code.

Yes there was, My first comment has been hidden for some reason

Mounjour · 04/07/2025 10:47

This is odd!

The threads in the Sponsored Threads and Q&As are still there. I think MN have deleted the thread they posted here in the WLI topic a few days ago, as the replies were universally critical of MedExpress... I replied to that thread, and can't find it or a deletion message on my Threads I'm On list.

Advert for Med express at the top of this page as I’m reading now.
I wouldn’t use them. They are a pain in the arse.

VelociraptorsVelociRapping · 04/07/2025 11:17

I've just checked as I posted on it so the direct link is in my history even though the thread has disappear from 'threads I'm on'. It was here and it's been taken down: https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight-loss-injections/5365349-if-you-are-with-medexpress-and-want-to-share-your-views-on-your-weight-loss-journey

The site is still absolutely papered in adverts for MedExpress. It's pretty appalling that MN are trying to circumvent the strict laws banning the advertising of prescription-only medicines.

WeAllHaveWings · 04/07/2025 11:49

Surprised that MN chooses to partner with a supplier where the outcome of their most recent GPhC inspection just 11 weeks ago was -

The risks associated with providing pharmacy services are identified and managed - Not Met
Pharmacy services are managed and delivered safely and effectively - Not Met

Feels a bit like they sold their soul!

I know… I don’t think I said anything wrong either. Still hidden too. I only said that nearly every ad I see now is from MN for ME 🤷‍♀️

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 04/07/2025 15:25

I spotted it had disappeared a couple of days ago. I did look at the actual sponsored thread and got about 6 comments in before I hit a ‘Medexpress is brilliant and I’m now an affiliate’ post. FFS MN, really not a good choice!

WeAllHaveWings · 04/07/2025 16:36

Just read on a whatsapp group Levity (another trading name of med express) is closing down and redirecting customers to MedExpress

They are a PITA, been with them all along & re-ordered on 30th, my pen still isn't dispatched & now II have unexpectantly been offered a few days away from home, from v. early Sun morning. So my pen will be sent probably while I'm away now. If you ring they state at least an hour on phone queue wait. And my email had a stock response. So that's me changing supplier after 6 months.

WeAllHaveWings · 05/07/2025 14:50

Jeez the advertising for them on this board is getting a bit much.

Huge ads top/left/right and then I had at least 3 (AD) threads for them on the page at the same time.

Do they not realise many mumnetters don't like things that are that so in their face and it turns posters rights off? 🙈

witte · 05/07/2025 19:40

Corresponded with them stopping people sharing referral codes for them on here too.

LavnderBlue · 08/07/2025 21:34

Is it hypocritical for MN to publish a puff piece on MedEx and have their adverts vomit all over the place as you doom scroll when they ban the posting of discount codes for MedEx by ordinary users on the promo code boards?

Or legit business decision given that MN exists to make a profit as a commercial venture rather than an altruistic social value creator?

witte · 08/07/2025 21:55

I think the fact the MN discount is £35 when every man and his dog has one for £40 is rather telling

Mounjour · 08/07/2025 22:05

I hadn’t realised that the promotion included a MN discount. That’s odd given the recent hoo-ha from MedExpress about people sharing their codes on forums!

I found it hilarious that the confected MN article actually included stats and actual quotes of postings from ordinary users that they subsequently deleted then banned 🤣

Did they actually ban people?! What for?
