What’s your plan for coming of Mounjaro

I’m still in the first month of MJ and losing weight steadily. I’ve been thinking about when I come off it though and how I’m going to manage it. The stories of people keeping the weight off seem pretty few and far between unfortunately (would love to hear some success stories though!) I know through my own history of dieting that I’ve never been able to stick to as few calories as I’m having now for more than a month or so. So currently my plan is to get down to as low a bmi as they’ll still prescribe to me (around 19 - 9 st for me) and try my best to keep up good habits when I come off it but expect to put on a stone or two, getting me up to a bmi of 21 or 22 (hopefully over a long time!) which is where I’d rather be weight-wise anyway. What’s your plan?

I’ve been on Mounjaro for a year now, and I’m not sure that I have a plan yet! I have another 3 stone ish to lose before getting to my original target, so maintenance is a few months away yet.

I have completely changed my whole lifestyle compared to before I started. I exercise regularly now, I walk everywhere and I eat completely differently. The challenge will be to keep that up when I’m at goal and if/when I stop taking Mounjaro. I think that I would like to try to get to the point where I can stop taking it, and see if I can keep the weight down on my own.

At least I know that I can restart if necessary and it won’t be when my BMI is super high. I have high BP so I would be prescribed at a BMI of 27 if need be.

I know I can’t ever eat like I was eating before again. This long time eating so much smaller amounts of food has shown me just how excessive it was, even though I knew it logically. Plus, I’m not miserable about my weight! I like what my body can do now and the massive improvements in my health. I have future fitness goals I want to achieve, so hopefully that will help too.

I don’t plan to come off it at all. The switch in my brain is immense and I want to keep it.

You don’t have to come off it, you can just take a maintenance dose.

I definitely don’t plan to stop taking it. It would be like stopping anti depressants because you no longer feel depressed.

I won't come off it I don't think. I don't ever want to feel the way I used to feel about food before Mounjaro.

I’m at goal and starting to work my way down the doses.

I am not coming off!

I shall settle on a dose that lets me eat enough to maintain.

I am a year into Mounjaro with probably another 1-2 stone to go which I am now taking slowly 1lb/week. Still only on 3.75mg and hoping not to increase dose.

lots of thoughts on maintenance, one is to try to gradually increase calories over a few weeks, then try dropping to 2.5mg for 3-4 weeks and see how it goes. Then maybe either stick there, or perhaps try 1.25mg. Other thoughts are to stay on something, as low as possible for at least 6 - 12 months before trying to come off, hoping body gets used to my new weight. I might also try skipping a week or two at the end of each pen if provider allows it. But will take it all in steady steps and assess as I go.

I have lost three and a half stone and hit my goal weight three months ago (4lbs under today).

I am still using MJ - 5mg. I hope to stay on for as long as they will let me. I am a yo-yo dieter and have been at this weight before many times but it slides back up.
