Anxious about Mounjaro side effects

I took Ozempic to good effect albeit at low dose and lost several stone. I had a break and was laid up after surgery and have gained again. I want to continue my weight loss journey and am considering Mounjaro but there are so many threads about bad side effects, - nausea, stomach pain etc. I had no side effects on Ozempic.
Is Mounjaro worse for side effects? Maybe I should go back on the Ozempic

I have had no side effects at all, I was on my 2nd 10mg dose when I became unwell (unrelated to MJ) and was hospitalised for the best part of 3 months, I have started again on 2.5mg and again absolutely no side effects

The amount of people posting on here with bad side effects shouldn’t in my opinion put you off, people may comment in existing threads when they are well and suffer no side effects but rarely start threads so it appears that there is a far higher percent of problems than there actually is

you could give it a go and see how you get on, you can stop at any time but hopefully you won’t need to

@Djdoksvc you could go back to using Wegovy if it suited you and you lost weight on it.

Mounjaro actually has fewer side effects than Wegovy, according to the clinical trials. The difference that you see in the number of threads started about Mounjaro side effects compared to Wegovy is because Mounjaro is significantly more popular. There are just a lot more people taking Mounjaro and posting about it than there are taking Wegovy.

If it helps I know 5 people on mounjaro with a range doses and none of us have had any side effects.

Djdoksvc · 30/06/2025 22:41

Ok thank you.
Why is Mounjaro more popular than Ozempic/ wegovy, is it that you can lose more on it?

Yes, the average weight loss on Mounjaro is around 21% of starting weight, whereas Wegovy it’s around 16%.

I have had very bad side effects on mounjaro.

In one way , I suppose that is how it works.
I am so sick, that I haven't been able to eat.
