Weight loss and waist inches

Is anyone charting inch loss alongside weight loss? I’m just wondering how many kg I need to lose before I see any noticeable reduction in waist or hip size?

I measured my waist at the start but haven't tracked the measurements since.
I do remember that by the time I had lost 30kg in weight I had also lost 30cm from my waist.

The weight change was a steady decrease whereas my waist would stay the same size for weeks at a time and then suddenly shrink 3 or 4cm overnight.

It has been pretty much exactly 1cm off waist per kilo lost for me too. But again not a straight line. Sometimes I lose weight but not waist circumference, and vice versa, and then they suddenly catch up.

I have lost 11cm off my waist and dropped 18kgs or 2st 12lbs so far. Waist to height ratio is a good indicator for health too, the waist should be half or less in cm compared to height to be normal. I'm currently 160cm hight and have a waist of 82cm and I'm bmi 25.3

Lift weights to see the most difference.

Lost 2 inches off my waist and 2 stone in weight, so 1 inch per stone so far.

I never had a large waist measurement even at my highest weight, so this is going from 32" to 30". My smallest waist measurement, at BMI 19 many years ago, was 28". I just don't seem to have weight there - it's all lower down on my legs and hips.

Thanks everyone, good to see the range. I guess I just wait and see. I already lift weights and do core exercises so I have decent tone in there somewhere, it’s just currently somewhat buried!

I've lost 26lbs, 1 inch off my waist and 2 inches off my hips. I thought it would have been more than that by now (been 5 months) but I guess slow and steady is better in the long run. 😒

I measured myself at the start, and roughly every couple of months since.
These are the accumulated waist lost measurements as I lost weight:
13lb -5cm
26lb -7cm
40lb -14cm
52lb - 18cm

There doesn't seem to be any formula to my own cm/lb lost.
But it does seem to fit with the rather amusing paper towel theory.....
