Mounjaro did not help me

I was wondering if there are other people who tried Mounjaro, but lost no weight? Have used according to instructions since Janua2025, lost 4 kilograms in total and I am completely disappointed! I am on 12.5mg, should buy 15mg, but really not sure if I shouldn’t just give up? Have had no side effects, only decreased appetite after the 10mg dose. Why is it? Eating healthy, minimal snacks, low carb, but not a lot of exercise (can not because of a health issue), walking for half an hour a day.
Is there anyone who’s been in the same boat? Thanks

Are you calorie tracking? Eating healthy doesn't say anything about volume or snacks etc. To lose fat you have to eat less than you burn. Calculate your calorie intake on an app like myfitnesspal or tdee calculator online.
It's good to do low carb but are you also drinking plenty of water too. I've lost around 1lb a week since october, so it's slow but I was also prediabetic and really needed 10mg and above to resolve my unstable blood sugars. I've lost this by eating less than my deficit of 1200 calories a day. Are you also taking vitamins in case you have a deficiency?

What does a typical day of food look like for you?

jmh740 · 26/06/2025 20:30

I've been on it since December and lost 6lbs

Use Nutracheck absolutely religiously. I lost weight with this both off and on MJ, it was just easier on MJ. It will work.

I used an earlier one - Saxenda/liraglutide (daily injection) and over 12 weeks only lost 9lbs (which came back pretty fast).

I was advised that I was a low responder and that it was not worth me continuing.

I was also having increasing side effects/ skin reactions so that didn't help.

There are always outliers.

I did notice when I was on it certain things seemed less successful. Wine for one. I could certainly drink less and not feel
the need for more. However I could actually still push through even though I absolutely could have left it.

Is there anything in particular you over eat?

InfoSecInTheCity · 26/06/2025 20:49

What and how much are you actually eating?

I’ve never had full suppression like some people describe. I could eat as much as I want and just keep going and I’ve never had any side effects (except feeling the cold) or feelings of sickness. What it does do though is stop me thinking about food all the time, and stop me feeling actively hungry all the time. So I get to the end of my portion and think ‘Ok food is done, that’s that then’ rather than ‘hmm there’s still some left in the pan I’ll have that. And I’ve got those crisps in the cupboard and that chocolate I’ll have them too’. I could eat them but I no longer really want to and if I don’t have the calories to then I accept that and go about my day.

I track all my food and drinks to make sure I tell myself to stop when it’s time to and to make sure I am staying in a deficit.

It sounds like your calorie deficit is not low enough. I am struggling with the exercise bit too, but tracking everything I eat and drink is helping. Age plays a role too, its going to take me longer than a 20 year old I think
