Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

Afternoon all. Back to normal today but very strong suppression so making sure I eat small amounts.

Had a minor victory last night. Had my eye on a Hush jumpsuit I would never have entertained wearing pre mounjaro. Arrived yesterday and it looks fab on. Can't wait to wear it!

Next jab on Friday. Just need to decide whether to risk 3mg or err on the side of caution with 2.5mg.

notgonnafail · 08/07/2025 16:33

Me too, @DidILeaveTheGasOn Got a lot to lose and it is happening very slowly!

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 08/07/2025 11:38

Morning all. Sorry to those feeling disheartened this week.

I have hit quite a milestone today, have lost 2 stone exactly since the beginning of May. So pleased. A few more lbs to go, but I will go back to a 2.5mg pen next time. 2 more shots in this one and perhaps a golden dose if I can manage it this time (failed on the last pen!)

Can I ask which app this is please?

Aww I'm so chuffed to see folks near to goal but I'm gonna miss ya! I'll end up on this thread on my own having a wee gibber to myself.

Can I stay for maintenance? ❤️

Foreveronaplane · 08/07/2025 16:53

@BerfyTigot @DidILeaveTheGasOn @Gingercar I’m going to be here too! In for the long haul. 😜

Me too - w5d5 and I'm only 10.8lbs down!

Apprenante · 08/07/2025 17:12

@DidILeaveTheGasOn I'll be here gibbering with you. 3 reasons - I still have about 3 stone to lose; I'm currently gaining and losing the same blxxdy pound despite my best efforts; I enjoy the conversations on this thread.

This is unwanted interfering advice but I'll give it anyway. Dealing with people - especially friends and partners - can be incredibly difficult and draining. My daughter has accessed talking therapy through the NHS and it has truly changed her life. You can self refer and round here you don't have to wait very long. Think about it. Non-mumsnetty hugs.

Booklover2021 · 08/07/2025 17:31

I'm thinking of going up to 3mg but not sure how I'd do that with a 2.5 pen. Med express have been really efficient with me so my 5mg pen is already in the fridge!

A big well done to everyone on their losses. I'm hoping for my stone award at SW tomorrow 🙏

SutekhsEars · 08/07/2025 17:53

I'll be here forever too.
Suppression is really tailing off for me - I was flipping starving this afternoon. I'm making healthy choices, but I'm starting to feel more hunger now. To be fair, I'm not even taking 2.5mg - I'm on about 1.6mg per week, split into two doses. I'm going to stick with my current dose this week as I have a few things on, then probably start slimpod next week and see how I do. If I'm still hungry, I'll increase my dose a bit.

72 clicks? 60 /2.5 x 3...?

You won't as I'll still be here.

Only 16lbs loss so far and last week a measly 0.2lb.

Have stuck with the 5mg for the second 5mg pen as going on holiday at the end of the month and didn't want to move up to 7.5mg before. This might be a mistake.

Today (jab day) I am really hungry and using will power to get through to dinner time later.

Am not snacking and eating sensibly, but the wine does creep in at the weekends. Suppression definitely not as strong. Really hoping for at least 1lb off at the end of the week.

Mentally I've told myself I need to stick with the 5mg through July and into mid August when I'm on holiday. That will be x 3 pens of 5mg. Then move straight up to 7.5mg on return. I can't cope with the thought of being on holiday for three weeks and feeling rough if I move up a dose.

BluNavy · 08/07/2025 18:21

I'll be here for ages! I have a lot to loose.
I've lost 17.2kg so it's working. Last week I lost 0.4 which was frustrating and this week 2.3. Only thing I did differently was add some different vitamins so not sure if that has helped!

ElsieJay · 08/07/2025 18:24

Another gibberer here for the gang !
Thinking of rejoining WW when I restart, they look to have some good offers and think it’ll help me to eat healthily and also provide some real-life support .
We can and will succeed ! 💪

Kbr22 · 08/07/2025 18:34

Well @Gingercar I will be with you! I am a plodder, Jab 9 on Friday and have lost 5kg since my start date! I’m going to try 7.5, just been and had a long chat with my Chemist.

Blood pressure better so that is a win!

He was shocked that I was only eating 1250cals a day and noting everything on MF Pal. My daughter has been saying this since the start, but obvs I knew best! He wants me to aim for 1500 but not fill in my diary everyday. Eat healthily and stop when full, who knew there was such a concept! @SutekhsEars
I am doing Thinking Slim, and after 8 weeks listening to the Slimpods every night, I had a lightbulb moment, last night and had already decided that I had to get a grip and trust myself to know what and when to eat. I don’t think I could maintain, (whenever that maybe) without this.

I have always given up “diets at the 3month mark” and as the Chemist said it is just not sustainable.
I find this support from everyone invaluable so instead of sitting working out what I can eat and be within 1250cals I am going to engage with everyone on here instead.
I am truly happy for everyone who is losing you are all amazing, but for the others we can do this, even when life gets in the way, this is for us.

dc82 · 08/07/2025 18:35

Just checking in and catching up. (waves madly at everyone)

Ive seen a couple of you mention Slimpod - I’d never heard of it before. Is it good? Does it help?

TreesOfGreen99 · 08/07/2025 18:44

Hi, I will also be here for the long haul. Gaining and losing the same 1lb for the last week! I’m expecting to be on MJ for about a year - assuming I ever manage to lose this blasted 1lb 😂

PandaIsMySpritAnimal · 08/07/2025 18:48

For everyone losing/gaining the same pound, I had this for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks it finally moved and lost about 5lbs in 10 days. Felt so annoying when it kept going up/down/up/down, so hang in there.

I'm now 3lbs away from 2 stones lost - I've got about 6st to lose in total so will be here for a while 😅

I’ll be around for a long time too. I may be 1.5stone down but I have another 3.5 to go to get to top end of a healthy BMI.

I have a work conference for two days this week. Usually there is plenty of wine/beer but I feel quite confident that I will be able to keep that to a minimum and I’ll be able to make sensible choices food wise. I will miss my usual Greek yogurt and fruit compote breakfast but hopefully they will have something similar. I’m also looking forward to a swim in the lovely pool. It’ll be a day sitting around so I’ll need it to make up for my lack of steps. Now I talk about it I’m tempted to try out the gym too. I better go pack my gym stuff.

ConfusedMiddleAger83 · 08/07/2025 19:02

I did slimpod last year. While I engaged with it, it worked really well. I lost about 1.5 stone in 12 weeks and really got exercising. Then I was derailed by Covid and couldn’t get my mojo back with it and ended up putting 2.5 stone back on so mentally it’s consigned to the pile of failed weight loss methods for me unfortunately. Looking back at my track record I always run out of steam about 12 weeks in and then regain.

What I did really struggle with was that the focus was very much on stop eating when you are full and recognising your full signal. I never reached a point when I felt this mystical signal and think that may well be down to the insulin resistance etc and why I overeat.

Anyway, I know lots of people have had great success with it and I found many of the materials interesting and helpful, especially about understanding the hormones around eating, and wish good luck to those giving it a try.

dc82 · 08/07/2025 19:28

Thanks @ConfusedMiddleAger83 and @Kbr22 - I’ll take a look at slimpod. I think they’ve a free trial so I’ll maybe give that a shot. One of my biggest worries is how I’d ever maintain once actually ever at TW so I’m keen to try anything that might help some how.

Mounjour · 08/07/2025 19:56

@HKG I have to ask - did you mean to quote me on the last page or Gassy?

Congratulations @FlorenceNightshade, @BerfyTigot and @AccidentalPrawnYouFool on your losses today! (Prawny - you're so close to your goal - how does it feel?). Apologies to anyone else reporting a loss on the scales today - I really struggle to keep up with the discussion at times and I have to limit my screen time too.

I hope I can stick around with the gibbering remainers!

Caught up with my lovely auntie tonight and we were discussing weight loss. She is very pleased I'm not on those dangerous tablets and proving that it can still be done the old fashioned way. 🤐

Seahorsesplendour · 08/07/2025 20:56

@DidILeaveTheGasOn & @BerfyTigot & @Gingercar and everyone everyone else in the gibberer gang… I’ll be here for a looong time to come too!!!!

@ConfusedMiddleAger83 i had much the same experience with slimpod worked really well but I struggled to have time to keep on top of the reading then I missed a few nights as was away and forgot my headband then just didn’t start again and regained. Like with everything it’s the carrying on that counts!! I do know people it’s been life changing for so those considering it don’t be put off! Maybe the combination of MJ plus slimpod is a good match!!

@Mounjour well done for keeping a straight face during that conversation!!! Hope you took it with a pinch of salt!!

hope everyone having a good evening!

I was assignment writing today snd unthinkingly fell into pre MJ habit of overeating to keep myself sat down working ! So had protein smoothie for tea & in bed now for a much needed early night!

A few late nights in a row have increased my sweet cravings!! Hoping the increase on Friday helps!

onwards & downwards ….

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 08/07/2025 20:57

@Mounjourthank you! I thought it would take longer than this, I think I’ve been lucky. I’m relieved that my BP is at normal levels and that my knee doesn’t hurt anymore. I’m happy to be (nearly) at target but also very nervous to titrate down and stop the jabs and worried about my own willpower without. Worried I’ll hit the crisps and that my wine cravings will come back with a vengeance.
