Hoping the lovely bunch of May starters thread 3 finds this new thread. Can't believe we are on 4 in the space of couple of weeks.

Thread 3 is now full so can't post the link for the new one there.

Went for a long walk this afternoon. Long but careful, given the knee situation.
Still ended up with chafing on my thighs and it's sore. I don't know how to treat or prevent this. Help?

I always wear cotton shorts under my dress. Works fine and don't get too hot either.

Evening all!! Just had bit of a catch up on the messages!

I retesting thoughts @DidILeaveTheGasOn

lots of people feeling down on themselves today so sending hugs & positive vibes!

ive met up with old friends today who are really lovely & have supported me a lot over the years! I braved telling them & they were fascinated by it all and duper supportive

we discussed how loosing weight is like climbing a mountain and if you stand at the bottom and look at how far you have to climb it feels insurmountable but if you set out & get to first base you can then enjoy a bit of a view snd think oh look I climbed a fair bit already and then at each check point the view changes so it’s easy to forget how far you’ve come as perspective shifts snd often you can’t even see the top but just have to have faith you will get there!!!

we’ve got this guys!!!

Gingercar · 06/07/2025 20:22

That’s a nice analogy.

MoggiMay · 06/07/2025 22:56

Checking in!

SW 6th May 2025 18st 11lb
CW 6th June 2025 16st 10.2 lb
GW 12 st 7lb (but actually maybe less!!)

going so well - 7.5mg, no side effects

SutekhsEars · 07/07/2025 07:14

I had a biscuit yesterday for the first time since starting Mounjaro (DC wanted to do some baking) and it tasted overly sweet, like eating sugar. But of course I then wanted another one! I managed to stop after an extra half biscuit, but I think it shows that I'm not ready yet to stop injections. If I hadn't been on mounjaro I would have scoffed the lot.

ElsieJay · 07/07/2025 07:17

@Seahorsesplendour - very helpful, thank you . Great that you’ve got such supportive and understanding friends in real life as well as all of us here.
Really looking forward to getting home and back on the wagon - not to mention being in control of menus!
It’s just the two of us this week , so easier on that front, big birthday meal on Saturday for DGS at DD’s - DSiL will be barbecuing, and there will be lots of interesting sides and salads .
No problem having a sliver of birthday cake, I’ve made DGS a lemon drizzle (currently in freezer) but find the shop - bought ones far too sweet for my English taste buds, thankfully !
👋 to all who remember me - hope you will let me remain on the May starter thread , although technically I will be a July restarter 🤞🤞.
Onwards, downwards and soon to be homewards ! 🇨🇾 🇬🇧

Well after two week away on hols I finally got back on the scales ( and the wagon) and I’ve gained a 1lb in weight. I’m not too unhappy about that as I did have a few glasses of wine and we ate out a lot. Onwards and downwards losers 😊

AccidentalPrawnYouFool · 07/07/2025 09:13

Morning losers! I have had a little NSV this week, which is welcome given my measly half lb loss! My BP has been borderline for some time now. I took my BP last night and it was completely normal. I’m very pleased about this, every time I go for my pill check they make me do a diary for a week.

Stars12 · 07/07/2025 09:14

I’m currently on 3.75, have been for 3 weeks. Due to jab again on Thursday but can’t decide whether to stay on this or go up to 5mg. I’m still losing weight but there’s definitely a bit of food noise and I ate 2 chocolate bars yesterday! Funnily enough though, they hit the spot and I didn’t need or want anything after ; unlike pre-mounjaro when I wouldve just ploughed through the cupboards. I imagine this is how ‘normal’ people behave- have a treat and move on…?! I feel like using willpower is better for the long term as I can’t stay in this forever but is this a slippery slope back to old habits..?! Thoughts….?

This is my worry; I am fine while I'm on MJ but my scarcity mindset of eating everything up until it's gone is so strongly embedded. It's almost like all rational thought/executive functioning goes out the window as the compulsion to eat overrides everything else. I'm not sure how to address this to achieve meaningful change while supported by the jabs, but that's what I need to do.

So interesting to read that as I feel the same - I've had the odd chocolate bar (especially during my period) ... just eaten one and that's been enough. It's been such a different and nice feeling!

SussexLass87 · 07/07/2025 09:23

Hey losers 🫶

I have been SO ill - had absolutely awful D&V since 11pm Saturday night. The Ball I've been using as an interim goal with my weightloss got completely interrupted and I had to spend most of the night in DH's accommodation bathroom.

Haven't kept anything down since Saturday evening (incidentally I was so proud of myself - usually find the food quite stressful at these things and I'd kept to some grilled chicken and veggie rice with just water)

Thinking of spreading the MJ dose across the week rather than taking the full 5mg on a Friday and see if that's the cause.

Sods law is that I'll have put weight on this week isn't it?! 🤣🤣

Gingercar · 07/07/2025 09:37

Oh that’s such a shame @SussexLass87! I hope you had good night prior to 11pm.

If it helps, I am on my second dose of 50 clicks from a 5mg pen (so just under 4.2) through fear of SE. The suppression has been great with nothing awful to report.

HereIGoOnceMore · 07/07/2025 10:22

Oh SussexLass what a shame. Hope you are feeling better today.

tostaky · 07/07/2025 10:26

@SussexLass87im spreading my injection half a dose every 4 days and the SE are so much more manageable!

SunandMoor · 07/07/2025 11:17

@SussexLass87 it is possible that your D&V is not MJ related. Rather than split the dose I would just wait until you feel well again before you take it. But I have no medical knowledge! I think spreading over a week won’t really tell you anything.

keeponplodding7 · 07/07/2025 12:44

Morning! I’m due my next 2.5g today but might stall as I have this very strange ache - very intermittent in my very lower right abdomen. I’m not sure what it is but I do remember feeling like I pulled something on Friday at the gym so maybe it’s that…..but weird that it just randomly hurts even when not moving. I do think taking mj makes me a little paranoid about every stomach ache though…..

Sallycinnamum · 07/07/2025 13:33

Feeling much better today and managed to eat something thank god. Still very slightly nauseous but it's copable.

My last 5mg pen arrived this morning but I'm definitely going to be counting the clicks and not dosing up to 5mg.

I don't think I can face another weekend feeling poorly. I feel a wuss but with a moderately stressful job my weekends are the only time I get to relax and I was so off this weekend I've got nothing done.

@SussexLass87 you have my sympathies. Hope you feel better soon.

Can you have a quick chat with a clinician at your supplier? I think we’re always a little paranoid but sometimes a call might put your mind at rest..

@SussexLass87 and @Sallycinnamum You poor things! @SussexLass87 That seems so unfair!

Woodywig · 07/07/2025 17:21

Hi all,

hope everyone is well.

quick update from me as haven’t posted in a while.

around three weeks ago I was very ill with SE / bug and lost x2 kg in a week (that’s a huge loss for me) I put 1kg on the following week ( not unexpected as I started eating again) but since then I’ve lost nothing…so a bit disappointing. I’m on second 5mg pen and taking the full dose.

I am sticking to my calories (around 1400
per day) and weight training x2 a week as I have done for 3 years - so hopefully the scale will start to move downwards again. 🤞🏼

NSV - was at a work event & colleague took a full length photo of me. I’ve still got a lot to
lose - but I actually didn’t hate the photo for once!

no friends or colleagues have mentioned the weight loss - and I can’t see it in the mirror - but in the photo I deffo looked slimmer!

good luck all - onwards & downwards xx

Mounjour · 07/07/2025 17:49

Flowers to those with side effects and welcome back to the holiday-returners!

Having gone up to 3mg I'm still feel a bit queasy and getting some slight suppression. I'm getting some diet fatigue but pushing through because I want it to be over now. I'm currently aiming for September and then hoping to stop or wean off.
