Microdosing

Has anyone micro dosed, instead of starting on 2.5 mg? Has anyone gone to 1.25 mg or less? Also how do I go about 15 clicks? I don’t know how to do it and I think it’s best for me so I don’t have severe side effects and also I’m a bit nervous to have an allergic reaction as they have been in the past to certain medications.

Side effects are unusual op. Plus if you do get any, they usually settle really quickly. I think you should take it as prescribed rather than doing this.

and perhaps seek help for your anxiety.

The pens literally make a clicking sound as you turn them. A full dose is 60 clicks.

If you want to take a half dose you turn the pen for 30 clicks.

15 clicks would be a quarter dose.

You can calculate the amount of medicine in 1 click by doing the pen strength divided by 60
e.g. 5/60
Then estimate/multiply with a calculater to find the amount of clicks for your desired dose.

I've been doing 20 clicks twice a week @ 2.5mg. I'm trying to have a more stable level of medication, rather than the extreme peaks & troughs of the prescribed dose. I was waking every 2 hours for about 3 nights each week when I did 60 clicks once a week. The suppression isn't as good, but I'm okay with that.

Do I click it twice to prime the pen and then do 15 clicks? I’m sensitive to medication and I have seen others trying the micro dose method in which it is apparently helping them avoid side effects.

You click twice, press it down to check the needle isn’t blocked, and by then you’re back at the start. Then you click it however many times for the dose you want.

I would say though that the manufacturer, through clinical tests, suggests 2.5mg is the mild dose. Millions of us have taken it without side effects and hundred of thousands of us have felt little to no impact on 2.5. When the instruction from the manufacturer is to throw the pen away 30 days after first use, by halving the dose you risk not feeling any effect (good or bad), and throwing it away having used half of it. It seems an over-reaction when you’ve no idea if 2.5 is problematic for you (it probably isn’t).

Why would you assume you would have severe side effects? You might get a bit of nausea / constipation / diarrhoea at worst. I’d just take it as has been clinically prescribed rather than fk about with the dosing / clicks.

I did one dose of 1.25 (30 clicks) for the same reasons as you. My body has a habit of overreacting to new meds.
It did bugger all. No side effects. But no suppression either.

So the following week I went up to 2.5. All good bar some constipation and have lost almost 20lbs in the past 9 weeks.
Still on 2.5mg and no issues. Will move up when needed.
