Mounjaro without a photo?

Cameraphobic · 14/06/2025 19:36

Long story short, I took the step to order Mounjaro through MedExpress as I have a few stone to lose. I got all the way to the end of the order, where it asked me for a full length photo of myself in fitted light colour clothing. Besides the fact I don’t own any fitted light colour clothes, this has sent me into a complete panic.

This may seem completely ludicrous to some of you, but I’m cameraphobic: I have a genuine phobia. The prospect of being photographed has sent me into a panicked spiral, and I’m going to cancel my order I think, as I cannot deal with being photographed 😖

Which leads me to my question - is anyone ordering Mounjaro from a reputable chemist that does not ask for a picture?

All pharmacies want a photo and from 1st july stricter regulations will extend to videos. Maybe try a local chemist to visit in person and apply for it that way?

Burnserns · 14/06/2025 19:39

You can buy it in person from your independent local chemist. Most will sell it and the pharmacist can see you and assess, No photo needed.

Online providers all require a photo or video now.

MJalltheway · 14/06/2025 19:39

All reputable online pharmacies will ask for a recent photo in fitted clothing.

SilenceInside · 14/06/2025 19:47

@Histoscientist where did you see anything about new rules from 1st July about video being required?

RebeccaRedhat · 14/06/2025 19:48

I've just done a video call this week when I've switched supplier.
Oushk I didn't have to, but it does say come July 1st you'll have to do the video/weight verification before they'll prescribe.

Yeh Oushk but I've read it on many forums and on support groups.

I had photo phobia for years it was horrendous. Sympathies OP 💐

YouWillFindMeInTheGarden · 14/06/2025 19:51

We are all on cctv wherever we go so not sure how op feels about standing in a pharmacy being filmed

Bilbette · 14/06/2025 19:51

I think your only chance is a local chemist in person.

any online chemist should be at the very least be asking for a photo that can be verified, and will soon require video verification

as it should be

LaurieFairyCake · 14/06/2025 20:00

I’m with boots, never been asked for a photo or a call

SilenceInside · 14/06/2025 20:15

@LaurieFairyCake when you fill out the boots online form you need to do a photo before you can complete the application.

Supima · 14/06/2025 20:24

Surely you do a selfie?

LaurieFairyCake · 14/06/2025 20:26

Nope, maybe that’s for brand new customers only. Been with them a year, they’ve never asked.

SilenceInside · 14/06/2025 20:27

Yes, that’s what I’m saying, for the OP as a new customer she would have to do a photo.

Cameraphobic · 14/06/2025 20:43

Right, ok, thanks for the replies. I have to go to the chemist’s on Monday anyway, so I’ll see whether they sell it. I might’ve been stupid not to consider this before I ordered, but I do wish MedExpress had made it clear before taking my money. It’s just tacked on at the end like a ‘oh, by the way, just send us a photo of yourself in all your obese glory, and a photo of your passport or drivers license too while you’re at it’ (I have neither). 🙄

I am aware that we live in a country where we’re constantly on CCTV, it’s something I try very hard not to think about. The cameraphobia is part of a severe anxiety disorder which includes episodes of agoraphobia, so in those periods at least, I’m not on camera. I’m not sure what I’m going to do, but it’s clear I’m a moron 🤷‍♀️

You’re not stupid, as you say it wasn’t made clear to you what would be needed before payment was taken. Hopefully you can find an independent pharmacy that sells WLI who can see you in person, and then you’ll be sorted. Good luck with it on Monday.

AnnTillyMint · 14/06/2025 21:50

SheMed didn’t ask for a pic, did a live feed of stepping on the scales instead so just my feet! Did look at passport though, not sure what other ID would be valid if not passport or driving license

A quick search has shown Boots, Lloyds, Well and Rowlands sell it and offer in store consultations. Good luck!

Flanger · 14/06/2025 22:16

How can they determine you’ve not just lied about your weight to get the jab? Just take the photo and then delete it. Or tell them you absolutely cannot take a photo because you are too fat and ask for your money back and stay fat?

SilenceInside · 14/06/2025 22:19

@Flanger or she can go to a physical pharmacy and have an in person consultation. As already established on this thread.

I’m new to this, I’ve been thinking about it with respect to my own circumstances: I have a BMI of 34. It’s a last resort for me. I didn’t consider that someone with a healthy BMI would want to spend money to take a drug with potentially unpleasant side effects. I sure as hell wouldn’t. But, lesson learned.

I think I will cancel my online order, and go to a local pharmacy. That way they can see I’m obese and do their checks, and I don’t have to be photographed.

Thanks to those of you who’ve replied.

I just changed provider for the first time yesterday and I had to do the photo FOUR TIMES because I automatically sucked my tummy in….three times! 😂

I also wore a full disguise. Wig, DD’s glasses. That was for my own amusement though.

I used SheMed. No photo needed, other than of my feet as I stood on the scales. Am happy with them.
