Hi everyone. I'm still reading this thread and cheering on everyone's victories.

Thought that I would just pop on and say that as of this morning I have lost 6 stone exactly. Still more to go but if someone had told me last August that this would happen I wouldn't have believed them!

Weepixie · 11/07/2025 11:29

There’s no one size fits all 🤣

FurForksSake · 11/07/2025 13:12

Oushk weight verification done, she got me to stand by a door and then step on scales and looked at ID. all very easy. Apart from showing the top of the door, without being able to see what they can see that was really hard!

poppym12 · 11/07/2025 14:48

I need clothing opinions again please. Going into Bath tomorrow for birthday meal etc and I'm trying to find something I won't melt in. Most summery stuff is in my old bigger sizes but I've got a couple of things I think might be ok. Please be honest as to whether the bigger clothes are making me still look huge (I'm not small by any means, just a size 12/14).
Option 1: & option 2:

Have a great time and happy Birthday 💐😘

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/07/2025 14:58

No tape measures needed!

FurForksSake · 11/07/2025 15:00

I agree with the skirt.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/07/2025 15:01

Yep I said yesterday no tape measure so not sure why they ask for one

maybe if the door top and head don’t match their height they know if lying and really 5/7 but say 5/5 to get bmi 30

Just had my call, he was lovely. Passport first, stepped on the scales, and i had hooked the tape measure under and over the door for height and that was it done. He asked if I had any questions and away we went xxx
Ps i liked the option skirt @poppym12 i just thought the first outfit looked cooler for some reason and the skirt looked heavier xxx

NippyNinjaCrab · 11/07/2025 16:04

Ps @Azuresky68 I love your style, you always look fabulous xx

poppym12 · 11/07/2025 16:11

Thank you. I'm happier in trousers but I feel like making a bit more effort. I'll probably go with the skirt, I was just concerned that it made me still look as big as when I bought it last year. I think it's a 20.

NippyNinjaCrab · 11/07/2025 16:14

Can you adjust it to fit, are the trousers your proper size? I'm normally in trousers and on holiday wearing a dress was so nice so I've said i will try to make.an effort.
I saw so many lovely outfits today heading into town. Jumpsuits and dresses all patterned or flowers and one lady had trousers and a lightweight jacket on with blue and white flower design.i wanted to stop and ask where it was from but it was too busy. Xx

poppym12 · 11/07/2025 16:38

I can't adjust the skirt @NippyNinjaCrab but the top few inches are shirred so although it's a bit low on my waist, the elastic is stopping it from falling down.

The trousers are a 14 I think. They're a bit loose but feel comfortable.

Weepixie · 11/07/2025 17:08

Poppy you could very easily run a length of elastic through the shirring to tighten it up yourself.

The trousers look very stiff and uncomfortable. You could do way better than them style wise.

owlyboo · 11/07/2025 17:10

I really like the trousers they look fab

FurForksSake · 11/07/2025 17:30

It’s so hot here! How are others fairing in the heat? I wish we had air con.

it makes me think of last summer in Greece. I was so hot and uncomfortable and my feet swelled so badly. I’m glad I’m not in that body this year.

dinner feels completely ridiculous today, I might have some cereal later but I’m not cooking. The children can have couscous or toast 😂

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/07/2025 17:47

It’s lovely. I love the sun. Sunbathed today but also have a spa so went in that / was heaven

also have ceiling fans and they help

@Weepixie thanks for taking the time for such a detailed and thoughtful post. I will answer after the weekend as it's full on at my house this weekend

I much prefer the trousers...they are a very fashionable shape this year so bang on trend. Sorry but the skirt.doesnt show of your lovely new shape. But I am biased because I am short and skirts like that don't do anything for me. Its an adjustment going from buying cover up clothes to smart figure flattering clothes without wearing skin tight stuff. Personally think leggings should be banned!

Aww thanks. I love clothes but don't buy too many and never designer stuff. Its so much easier to buy nice clothes when you are slim. Were you the person mentioning hoodies? Uniqlo, H&M and Primark are my favourite shops for hoodies. I spend more on shoes as I only like leather shoes faux leather.

Mum0ntherun · 12/07/2025 02:26

Hello Ladies,

I've been MIA for a few months, as I've found the world a bit overwhelming and my weight loss has stalled - I suspect for many, many, MANY reasons. But I could really do with your advice, please, as my weight loss is crawling.

So, up until Christmas, I did very well and lost about 3 stone, but at that point, I moved from 5 up to 7.5 and then 10, (am about to move to 12.5) and my weight loss just dropped off a cliff and all I've lost this year is 1 stone 8lbs, and I've another 1 stone 8lbs to lose to reach my goal. My dress sizes have gone from 20 to 14-ish! My calories are around 1400 each day, but my exercise is minimal - when I'm depressed, I tend to hibernate and don't leave home much.

Honestly, my mental health is through the floor - I was made redundant 18 months ago and despite having applied for hundreds & I mean hundreds of jobs nothing has materialised (I'm not comfort eating BTW just shrinking away from the world). I suspect this lack of exercise is a major contributor but not all of it surely as I've been low for a while as you can imagine.

I've had a quick look through this thread and I am so impressed with your losses here, so well done all. I know I'm slowly losing, but 3.5 pounds a month isn't great, and I feel like a failure again. Any advice would be really welcome, as I was doing so well, and I really don't want to give up and put the weight back on. I do feel so much better about myself physically, but this is such a hard (and expensive) slog at the moment.

Thanks in advance, XX
