Has ANYONE had pretty bad side effects in W1 but then they’ve improved for week 2?

I started last week, felt pretty awful with nausea, headache, exhaustion until day 6&7 (when I just had lingering symptoms).

Was meant to jab last night but had a work trip today and didn’t want to end up feeling dodgy on a long train ride.

Ive just done dose 2 but already the thought of feeling like I did last week - or worse!! - is filling me with dread. Appetite suppression was almost immediate but not on any way pleasant as it was because I was nauseous and had NO desire to eat (I did though, and drank lots of water).

Havw read a fair few posts with people saying it’s the same or worse for them in week 2.

What are people’s experiences please?

I’m going to complete the first pen but if symptoms are anything like last week, it’ll also be my last.

Yes, I was very nauseous in week 1 but much less so in week 2 and I’m now on week 3 and have no nausea at all

I started on 2,5. My GP appointment where I took my first dose was on the Saturday. On the Sunday I had a mildly upset stomach. On the Monday I had such bad diarrhoea that I shat myself in a work meeting. Thank God it was online.

I was petrified about the next dose. It was much better. I still had an upset stomach for a couple of days afterwards but it was controllable.

I've now been taking MJ since February, I'm on 7.5mg and it's fine. I occasionally feel slightly nauseous but it's usually because I've overeaten.

My diabetes nurse told me that she has about 80 patients in MJ and only one has had to stop taking it due to the side effects.

I'd see how you go with the next couple of jabs. If you really can't cope with the side effects there's an oral version, not sure what it's called and it's not MJ but it works in the same way. My GP offered it to me as an alternative to MJ.

Thank you so much @AnnaQuayInTheUkand @polkadotpixiefor your replies, I really appreciate it.

It’s been the exact same feeling as morning sickness and I felt really unwell for the entire time during both pregnancies, so the thought of having that feeling again other than short term is difficult.

i also had such strong appetite suppression in the first week that it freaked me out. Could barely face any food at all. The thought of ever having any joy from food again made me sad - food is genuinely a joy (when eaten in moderation and as a balance of course - not in the portions/way/types of food I was eating!). I also got paranoid it would never wear off and I would be stuck never wanting to eat ever again!

So far so good today, tonight should be telling as it was 24 hours to 4 days post jab I felt the worst last week.

thanks again
