Stopping cold turkey from 15mg 🙁

I’ve been on Mounjaro for 13 months. Been on 15mg for the last 10 weeks or so.

about 4 weeks ago I started getting pain near my belly button, at first it felt like a poking pain, it came and went occasionally and I didn’t think much of it.

the last week or so it’s much more of an issue, I’m feeling it several times a day and it’s turned into a sort of burning pain.

so I went to the GP yesterday and he doesn’t know what is wrong, he’s sending me for a scan and I’ve had my bloods done today. He’s advised stopping Mounjaro as we don’t know what the pain is and he’s not sure if it’s related.

stopping cold turkey from 15mg!!!!

im very worried, I was going to start working down the doses after next week anyway and coming off it slowly, I wasn’t planning on stopping from the top dose.

I'm a stone away from target, I’ve lost 6 stone altogether.

Did you Jag at stomach? X

ItsStillWork · 10/06/2025 19:38

Some of the time it was in the leg, but as my legs got very slim it started to hurt so I moved to the bottom side of my stomach, which is no where near the pain

I think you need to listen to your doctor or take a second opinion

I’am listening to him, I’m just very worried about the hunger effects from stopping dead on the top dose

I stopped cold turkey from 10mg about a month ago. It was literally making me fall asleep in the toilets at work and tbh I don't need to lose more. I think it stays in your system for quite some time - I still can't eat more than one meal a day. But no longer sleeping all the time and nothing along the lines of withdrawals. Hope you get your health issues sorted!

You've had 13 months of eating less and have done really well too lose so much. It might not be as bad as you think. Or you might not be off it for that long.

One of my best friends has recently stopped after losing 3 stone and has only gained 1-2lbs back in 6 months (which could just be normal weight fluctuations). She has changed her habits significantly though and works out 5 days a week. That’s just an example but I think shows there is hope of you have made lifestyle changes!
