Hi All ♥️🫶🏽

I just took my first .25mg wegovy injection this afternoon.
Wondered if anyone else has started recently and want to buddy up for some support 🥰

SW currently 99.5kg. I'm 5'4. I have insulin Resistant pcos. Haven't had a natural period in like 3 years. Been a lifelong struggle to manage pcos. I'm 37 and have been ttc for ages. Currently do not qualify for ivf due to bmi. Been on and off keto for ages. Due to my insulin issues- I only lose weight if I eat 800/900 calories a day and it's been a struggle to maintain that for a prolonged period of time.

Wish me luck!

Hi! I started on Friday, I’m 5 foot 6 and weigh about 15 stone. (Not sure how accurate my scales are). I was a bit worried about having side effects and didn’t eat much on sat but I havnt been feeling anything at all and still have all the food noise! Feel like I’m not off to a good start and it’s not going to work for me?! I did try MJ in feb and was fine week 1 and 2, the food noise was gone, I wasn’t hungry at all but on the 3rd jag I was so ill I just felt like I couldn’t go on with it so I’m really hoping wegovy will work for me! How are you feeling so far?

SocialButterfly101 · 09/06/2025 21:36

@poppinpink what made you feel so unwell on MJ? Its really hard because everyone's body is so different. I chose wegovy because I had a close friend who took it and lost around 4 stone. She didn't have pcos though. I have really bad insulin resistance though. My friend said the first few jabs is a low dose and it slowly builds in your body. Again everyone's body is different- it's hard not to compare your journey to someone else's but it really is comparing apples and oranges!
Stick with it. I've read some people have lost nothing until they've got to the therapeutic dose of 1mg and above!
How are you feeling overall?
I'm okay currently. Took it at 2pm. Making a conscious effort to stay hydrated!

Hi @SocialButterfly101if you don’t mind me asking did you get prescribed this off the GP? I really want to try a weight loss injections but currently weighing out my options and I’m so scared of side affects as I suffer with health anxiety.

poppinpink · 10/06/2025 06:18

@SocialButterfly101with the mj I just felt so sick, pains in my body, couldn’t eat, I felt fluey. I had to take a few days off work as couldn’t get out of bed and it took me over a week to get over it. It could have been a bug but it started a few hours after the 3rd injection so quite a coincidence! My sister has been on it for about a year and has been absolutely fine and done so well with it. So far I don’t feel any different with the wegovy but I suppose it’s early days. How will the insulin resistance affect things for you?

SocialButterfly101 · 10/06/2025 06:51

@worriergirl no I purchased it myself through Asda. I did speak to my GP but going via the nhs tier 3 services is a long wait. Probably would be seen next year and there's no guarantee they'd even give it for weight loss. I'd been thinking about it alot and finally made the plunge last week. Everyone's body reacts differently and I wouldn't know how I reacted until I tried it. I too have health anxiety for sure so I'm just trying to keep positive! The biggest thing for me is managing the pcos. I haven't had a natural period in like 3yrs. I don't ovulate. Kinda hard to have a baby like that 😅 I did try metformin but I developed an intimate relationship with my toilet when I took that so never again!

@poppinpink that sounds awful! I can understand why you stopped but people often say the side effects do go away sometimes. I'd stick with this for awhile and go up in doses as reccomended if you're not losing anything

With me and the insulin resistance it's always been a challenge to shift weight. If someone were to look at me they'd think I eat a bunch of takeaways and don't exercise but it's completely the opposite. I fast until 12/1pm. Eat within an 8 hr window. Hardly any carbs- lots of protein and some fat. I try to eat 8k steps (i work at home so it's a challenge) and I don't eat takeaways etc but still for me i can't lose anything. So I'm sticking with the healthy eating and hoping wegovy balances the insulin so I can lose weight like a normal person!

Feeling abit nauseous this morning. Haven't woken up hungry and actually feel like there's food still in my tummy! I'll monitor the symptoms today. I'm going to eat smaller meals frequently and will scrap the fasting bit for now!

How are you feeling? Xx

Hi how did you get on with your first week then? I bought new scales today as mine wernt working properly but I don’t feel I’ve had a good week. I’ve had no appetite suppression and havnt felt any different. And then going on the scales was a shock as I seem to be heavier- how is that possible 😂 I will persevere for now and hopefully it works in the long term!
