Morning losers. Jab day today.

Wk26 • maintenance wk 6 • 4mg
SW 79.6kg • GW 62.4kg • CW 60.7kg

I’ve managed to gain back the loss I had on Friday and last Sunday’s weigh in. So this is officially my first gain since starting MJ and I’m (weirdly) quite pleased about it. I specifically indulged yesterday, had three good meals. Treated myself to some fresh OJ before the gym, and had some Booja Booja ice-cream after dinner 😋

I’m now on 4mg for a third week, I’m due my period this week, so if I lose by next weekend I’ll go down to 3.75. I’m titrating down a lot slower than I titrated up. But I think I mentioned last week, I’m hoping to stay on a low dose through my holiday in August to help keep my portions in check.

With the heat yesterday I’ve had a couple of inflammatory symptoms return. A spattering of dermatitis on my fingers, plus the top joint of RH middle finger felt stiff and painful. Perhaps I exacerbated with the sugary drinks/food? Something to keep an eye on as I hadn’t had any of those symptoms return during hot weather while I was on the 5mg. But like a lot of you mentioned it’s sooo much easier to tolerate the heat when not wearing a 3 stone layer of fat!

@HeidiNotSoHeavy my friend had surgery for a deviated septum and she had to stop exercising for a good few weeks while it healed.

@TicTac80 hope you feel good this week with the lower dose, following your maintenance journey with interest

@2025istheyeari sea swims followed by fish and chips sounds delightful

@Zempy hope your headache clears and you get on ok with the new dose. I also woke up with a headache and can’t tell if it’s PMS, the heat or sleeping with two fans pointed at my face!

Luckily I overshare and make inappropriate jokes also when sober :D

This is also me!

MJalltheway · 29/06/2025 09:24

@BreezyPeer my septoplasty was the first time I'd ever actually been in hospital at the age of 38! 😄 since then I've had another septoplasty, a growth removed from my leg and a prolapse repair!
Im the same as @HeidiNotSoHeavy , a terrible over-sharer and have hardly drunk since having children and being pregnant/breastfeeding/pregnant + breastfeeding for years. so no real change for me on the alcohol front. Sugar and sweets on the other hand, total transformation!

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 29/06/2025 10:26

yes scheduling things in is a pain - DHs job has little flexibility (due to stupid management, not nature of the job) so it's challening for him to do all the taxing of DC by himself. Need to find someone to take my gym classes. Plus of course there's always something scheduled in - holiday, big work event, wedding etc etc. Don't want to show up to any of them looking like I've been beaten up. Also a friend almost had to cancel her long aul holiday as the nose surgery didn't heal as expected, so have to factor that in.

On a different topic, picked up several Vinted items this morning, and with each and every one, my first reaction was 'Oh ..it's way too small, what a shame'
No, they all fitted perfectly, very happy. But when will my brain catch up?

BlueLimes · 29/06/2025 11:30

I managed a bottle of wine while out last night 😳 I am due to inject today though
Just been to the gym yo try and minimise any gain as also did some drink snacking while tipsily watching Glastonbury I got in.

BlueLimes · 29/06/2025 11:36

@Polkadotdash hope all goes well.
@Zempy most of the time people don’t pay much attention to what others are eating or drinking? Especially if first drink is alcohol I think.

have a great Sunday, some great losses, maintenance and inspiration on this thread.

discov · 29/06/2025 13:08

I am not feeling well at all today but think it’s because I didn’t eat enough yesterday. I had some hummus and pitta bread and crisps for lunch, then a protein pudding later on and was really busy in the evening ferrying dd about and forgot to eat any tea! I had a glass of wine and not much water.

Just took the dog on a very quick walk around the block as he refuses to go to the toilet unless he’s out and about and I genuinely thought I was going to pass out so had to have a sit down. I promised dd we could go out somewhere so I’m going to eat some decent food even though I don’t fancy anything and hopefully I’ll feel better from that.

But lesson learned here!! It’s not very often I don’t eat properly but I won’t be doing that again. I feel awful!

TicTac80 · 29/06/2025 13:37

Got the parcel of clothes I ordered yesterday - that was quicker than I thought. I’ll try them on later (when I’m not covered in sunscreen! Got a bbq lit and I’ll cook up a load of nice stuff for today and tomorrow.

thinking on weight maintenance, I’ve ordered some protein powder, so I’ll be having a scoop of that in the morning to boost protein intake and give me some more calories. It sounds nuts (and this really isn’t an “ooh look at me”/ stealth boast etc) but I really don’t want weight to drop anymore. If weight drops this week, I’ll reduce the dose down to 5mg, or skip a week.

meatyryvita · 29/06/2025 17:07

OMG how hot is it?!?! I’m in the south east and it’s disgustingly hot today. I have to say that at nearly 3.5 stone down, I’m handling it much better than previously.

I’ve had a lovely couple of NSVs this weekend. I haven’t seen my dad since the end of Jan when I started MJ and when he saw me, he did a literal double take! He was very complimentary.

I’m also firmly in size 14. I had considered my size 14 jeans victory earlier this week to potentially be a fluke but having popped to M&S and bought size 14 SHORTS that look really nice on, another pair of size 14 jeans that also look epic and a size 14 dress in the Hobbs sale, it’s no fluke. It’s weird and wonderful at the same time to look at the clothes and think ‘not a chance’ and to then slip them on. As a few of you have said, it takes a while for the head to catch up with the body.

I know that I will continue to shrink and they won’t fit but I get my kids to sell my old things on Vinted to try to encourage them to be entrepreneurial, so it’s a win win. I also have a couple of formal work things coming up and so I do need clothes that fit and look smart.

Have a great weekend losers and stay cool!

As it’s payday weekend I bought some new jeans in M&S. They are stretchy and therefore I fitted in a 14 (even though I only picked them up to see how far I am from that size). Maybe good for other Egg on Legs types like me? www.marksandspencer.com/high-waist-wide-leg-jeans/p/clp60723584?color=NEUTRAL#intid=pid_pg1pip48g2r7c2

Polkadotdash · 29/06/2025 18:45

And the heat it killing me. I’ve spent most of today snoozing having done too much yesterday trying to max out on my last weekend. Went to the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition and then did a bit of shopping, had a beer in the sun. Was lovely but I’m exhausted today. What I did notice though (and you may all be able to help out here) is that every 3rd or 4th woman in her twenties/thirties was wearing a waistcoat, hanky hem mini skirt and cowboy boots. It was like there was a glitch in the matrix as they all looked the same. I thought I was going mad. I have googled this today to see why and I can’t see any fashion references to this anywhere. Is this just a London thing? Also cowboy boots in 30 degree heat 😱

myladyjane · 29/06/2025 19:35

@Polkadotdash @meatyryvitalook at you, Mrs fancy size 14ers. Am impressed. I tried in a hoodie today in a 16 and it was a bit too baggy but that’s a hoodie so doesn’t count. If I put my measurements into a size chart I am a 14 waist, a 18 bust and a 20 hips still. In reality I think I’m probably a 16 now but given I was an 18/20 when I started and I’ve lost about 3 stone it’s not a big change in size.

i am struggling a bit - you would have thought by this stage I’d have a better handle on stuff wouldn’t you. I moved up to the full 7.5 this week, have had the most awful sulphur burps and 2 days of dodgy tummy. Food quality has been a bit shit too and protein rock bottom because I just don’t want to eat and when I do I want something carby. Urgh. Not drinking enough either as I just feel too full. Bad bad girl. I know it’s being laid up/being worried re my results/a worry re dd so I am trying to take a damage limitation approach until I can get these other issues sorted then focus on habit changing when I have some headspace.

on the plus side I managed a mighty 2000 steps today and left the house. That was nice after a week of feeling like I’m walking on hot coals.

TicTac80 · 29/06/2025 19:59

@meatyryvita and @Polkadotdash a 14 is great!! Well done! You're right though, it does take quite a while for head to catch up with actual size.

How are you doing now in the heat? I'm a bit of a weirdo (according to my XH and DC) - I'm from the ME (where my home town was 46 degrees today), so this sort of weather isn't a problem for me as I find anything under 20degrees cold (I will say though that last summer, for the first time ever, I felt it - thanks to the combo of excess weight and raging menopause symptoms prior to HRT starting- and God did I feel for people who find this weather hard going). I've had to keep my Maine Coon indoors today with the AC on (I banned him from going out into the garden) as he would have cooked.

We went to a boot fair this morning and then went to pick up an ebay thing. I got home and set up the bbq, slathered myself in factor 50, a hat and sat out having a read whilst food cooking.

Guys, I TRIED ON THE NEW CLOTHES!!! They bloody fit! All of them. I can't believe this at all. I also (because it was a pack of 3 bras for £28 rather than me spending a lot more at Bravissimo) bought some underwear. Again, this fits comfortably too.

So....age 15 stuff in Next...if you have similar stats to me, then this stuff is a good call. I bought some pull on wide leg jeans (I read that this was good on a "capsule wardrobe" google), a pack of 3 tank tops (black, white and grey), and some pants (all age 15 stuff). All fit fine (think I would have got away with the age 14 for the jeans as I'm a bit short). I took a gamble and bought an adult size small square neck vest top, and a size 8 white broderie anglaise top (from the clearance bit). Again, these both fitted fine (maybe a fluke as it is stretchy). It is a bit of a bugger sifting through Frozen and fairy themed clothing, but great for very basic bits.

Yep, I wasn't expecting any of it to fit (I said in a previous post that my head still thinks I'm a 16/18). So this is a very weird place to be. I'll be brave and try going into some shops to try on clothes and actually get a feel for what my clothes size is. It's so good to have underwear and clothing that actually fits and doesn't fall down (I've had to use safety pins in the past month or so 😂).

@Polkadotdash, maybe they're doing a sort of festival style get up because Glasto is on? I don't know.

TicTac80 · 29/06/2025 20:00

@discov, you feeling better now? Hope so!!

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 29/06/2025 20:07

@TicTac80 I posted about it before - bought DS 2 pairs of Next shorts recently in size 13-14y, he said that oh you can have the other pair. I said ha ha yeah sure.. and pulled them on. So indeed I agree, for basics, teen ranges are a good call.

I don't mind the 34 degrees we had today, will be 36 tomorrow. Our Maine Coon also doesn't mind, he's local though, so used to it. But a friend bought a labrador puppy from Nothern Finland and the poor dog really cannot handle it.

TicTac80 · 29/06/2025 21:54

@HeidiNotSoHeavy, my MC was definitely not happy with me for keeping him in, but he's a giant black 10kg+ floof and I worried that he'd cook. He is from a local breeder but I just didn't want to risk it (I'm in the UK, are you in EU?). The UK is seldom above 30 degrees.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 29/06/2025 22:00

yes I'm between Switzerland and France, so the current weather is not unusual.

TicTac80 · 29/06/2025 22:08

Oh mein Lieblingsort!! I love that part of the world, so beautiful! I went to school in Germany as a teenager, but have many friends and family in Germany/France/Switzerland.

HeidiNotSoHeavy · 30/06/2025 07:30

Morning losers, hope everybody had a lovely weekend.

I seem to be at a little sticky point again, hovering around the same weight. Was a busy weekend though, lots of grazing and snacking and had to skip my usual sports. Back on wagon today.

myladyjane · 30/06/2025 07:57

@HeidiNotSoHeavy does the heat make you sticky as well? I am not a fan - I swell attractively.

so I weighed in properly today, first time in 10 days. Despite lying down on a sofa for the best part of a week and eating a touch more than usual I appear to have whooshed a bit and am down 4lbs. I did have a sneaky weigh the morning of my procedure and things looked like they were moving down again so I think probably a banked whoosh.

am now only half a pound off 3 stone and a 7 point reduction of my bmi. I have moved down a stone bracket and only 12lb to go until I’m not obese.

i don’t really have set goals but a bmi of under 30 was my biggest and now that looks to be in sight, even if still a couple on months away, it does feel achievable which frankly it didn’t in January.

have a good week losers.

BreezyPeer · 30/06/2025 08:28

Morning everyone! Take care in the heat 🌞 have a good Monday xxx

discov · 30/06/2025 08:31

TicTac80 · 29/06/2025 20:00

@discov, you feeling better now? Hope so!!

I am thank you! I made a Greek yoghurt bowl for lunch but couldn’t finish it, but then took dd out to a local event and shared some churros with her and felt a lot better for it. Had a decent tea and feel back to normal now. I did have a bit of an upset stomach too so not sure what that was all about.

discov · 30/06/2025 08:33

Very weirdly I always lose well when I’m on my period since starting MJ, which is the opposite of what would happen in the past. I’ve dropped down to 9st 2.2 this morning which means I have lost exactly 3st!

I’m loving the phrase “banked whoosh’

Great losses reported but I’m joining those at sticking points for now. I did expect it to be like this approaching goal so not too bothered.

NSV to report though! I treated myself to an adjustable tailors dummy and spent ages on Saturday setting it up to match my measurements. I even had to dig out an old bra and some padding as these dummies tend to be a bit flat chested. It’s as accurate as I can get it. It looks slim! I look at myself in the mirror and see a bit of a chubster but I look at a model of me and see slim. It’s been quite sobering actually and I’ve got issues I need to address but overall I’m happy that slim is the impression I’ll be giving to others
