How would I do OMAD when I have medication I have to take in the morning and evening with food? I don’t want to eat early and then have nothing all day! And how do you balance your macros on OMAD?

I have an Actimel in the morning. In your situation, I'd grab half a banana.

As for balancing macros - I actually don't know what that means. 🤣🤣

Really? That’s what my GP told me to do 🙈 a banana!

Banana is best to be avoided if you have constipation from the Jabs. Otherwise fine

NK77 · 26/06/2025 11:57

Took my second 2.5 dose yesterday.
6lbs down.
Long way to go!

The indigestion side effect is in full swing, i hope gaviscon and rennie are low cal. 😂
Touch wood nothing else yet.

That's a brilliant start, well done. How are you finding the food noise & supression so far? You could try pesto bismol for the indigestion. I find that works better for me than gaviscon, and is slightly more palatable.

Really surprising. Before reading these threads id not heard of or considered food noise, but being made aware of it made me realise that every evening there really is chatter in my head about snacking.

Its really reduced since using Mounjaro. I've been to the supermarket a few times since i started using it and have walked straight past the chocolate aisle and just thought "nah not interested"
Ive never had that before in my life, but i was never really conscious of it. It not being there anymore is really stark.

I found myself in the fruit aisle not long after I'd started MJ, getting myself a bag of apples.

This was instead of wandering down the crisps or chocolate aisle.

I'm nearing the end of week 21 I notice food noise coming back at the end of each week.

My Start weight was 95.9kg with a BMI of 37 height 161 cm
Current weight is 80.8 Kg BMI 32.2
So a loss of 15.1 KG (33.3 Lb) 2 stone 3.8 Lb

Whilst there is no 'food noise' I'm also fasting 16/8 meals are much smaller in size, but I will still eat takeaway, Chocolate etc but not in the same quantity as previously, wine is still there but maybe only a bottle a week instead of 4/5 a week.

I have a goal for end of July of 75 kg, 75.9 works so long as its 75, that will take me into 11 stone and I haven't been there for over 20 years!

Good luck to everyone on this adventure and don't forget to enjoy a treat every now and then (chocolate hob nobs)

I got my GP to prescribe lansoprazole and famotidine tablets for heartburn.

I think i will do that as my dose increases as its likely to get worse.
I had it really badly when i tried ozempic a couple of years ago, to the point where i stopped taking it.

I'm probably extra cautious around medicines and fruit. I take warfarin for a blood clotting disorder and warfarin effectiveness is affected by pretty much everything.

Urgh, I feel your pain. Following a second pulmonary embolism I've recently been put on rivaroxaban. I was so relieved it wasn't warfarin and having to carefully balance my leafy greens intake again.

mamabeeboo · 26/06/2025 13:10

Hope everyone is going well. Congratulations on all the NSVs and the goal weights which are in sight for so many of you!

I'm also in the 3,4 club! 😁

Mentality check - dropped off my car for an MOT and they said it would be about an hour. Instead of going to Costa and having a large latte and a cookie, I took a walk! Accompanied by a podcast, I strolled down some new roads I've never been on, and felt so much happier, and so easy to walk now.

Previously, I'd have gone to Costa to 'treat myself' and then felt like rubbish all afternoon. But happy I went anyway because I'd have 'missed an opportunity to sit in Costa'. 🙄

This mindset doesn't even register with me now. I'm so pleased! 😄

Totally the same for me. I thought I didn’t have food noise, until it disappeared! It does start to
creep in by the end of the week but nothing like it was.

TidyWasp · 26/06/2025 16:59

It's been a revelation to me to feel hungry and think "no worries, I'll be making dinner soon" rather than immediately diving into the snack cupboard. I had no idea it was possible to feel hunger without it being all consuming and stopping any other thought. Also agree the ability to walk down the supermarket biscuit aisle and not even look at anything on the shelves is crazy.

Bought size 18 knickers today, I know they are elastic (and also a bit tight) but feels like a win to replace my size 22's. Would rather have waited tbh but at that point where every wash brings a new hole or piece of elastic falling off...

TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne · 26/06/2025 17:06

Well done with the knickers @TidyWasp!
You've reminded me that I need to buy some more Wirarpa ones

@TheBroonOneAndTheWhiteOne in macros I was mostly thinking of getting enough protein! I’m terrible at it at the best of times!!

Thanks everyone for suggestions. I might look at some OMAD action to try and get a kick up the arse!!

Billybingbong · 26/06/2025 17:45

Stupid question, but how does OMAD work? Do you literally just eat once a day? No snacks? How many calories?

Well, I don't actually count calories. I eat between 4.30 and 6.30pm.

I just eat whatever dinner I was cooking anyway, but a much smaller portion than I had before MJ, then some fruit.

After 6.30 I only drink tea.

When I wake up I just have tea and water until 4.30pm again. I do sometimes have an Actimel.

Just catching up. Good to read the progress and the NSVs and thank you to those keeping our thread on the positive track. .

I STS this week - the second time in 6 months. Just worked out my cost per pound at £16. Worth every penny as I am not obsessed by counting things or planning eating points, UPF Slimming World bars and free food etc. Much healthier mindset - thanks to the magic of GLP1. I use DH's card for the food shop - so he's saving money on me eating less. I'm thinking I'll be on the micro-dosing for life when I'm at goal (whatever that is - 32 inch waist??!!) and am grateful.

I was sad to see people I know and admire in my twitter sphere on X, posting gleefully about the news stories & risks of GLP1 today, ignore the risks of obesity, and saying it's much easier to just eat less and move more. It reminds of how those who have no weight problem or manage it easily have no idea about life for those of us who suffer from obesity.

I was on a video call yesterday and really noticed my face is thinner (still 2 chins) - looking good and tanned from going swimming. I've been very stiff (hips, arms, wrists) after swimming so I'm swimming every 2nd or 3rd day (partly weather dependent & time available as the pool closes at 5.30pm) as I also have to clean an Airbnb guest suite & do the related laundry/ironing 3 or 4 times a week. I did more flutter/crawl kicks than breast stroke legs on Tuesday so hope that I'll enjoy my swim tomorrow more as a result.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 26/06/2025 18:36

I love catching up with this thread and reading all the amazing things people are doing/feeling/ NSV and SV!!

I came downstairs today and I think it was after one of the lists on here remembered that I used to need to carefully take each step and now I just walk down!

I'm still objectively very large -but my face looks more like "me" I think a lot of it must have been bloating and inflammation which mj is helping with.

I have got the beginnings of wrinkly neck - but with a few double chins and 7 stone left to go I'm accepting that that will happen!

Billybingbong · 26/06/2025 18:44

Ive taken my monthly progress pictures this morning, and can really see a difference now. My shape is changing, and I'm developing a defined waistline. And my face is much thinner. I don't think I've ever got to this stage before, I've usually given up weeks before. There are definite signs of loose skin, but I'm choosing to ignore that for the time being, that's a worry for another time.

TragicMuse · 26/06/2025 20:10

We went out to celebrate the teen finishing this college year.

I ordered as I usually would. Couldn’t finish it!! As it was burgers I’ve just logged it as 1000 cals for the meal. Maybe I ate all that, maybe I didn’t. It’s fine either way!

@Artfulnancy everyone reacts differently to Monjaro. For me, eating that amount all at one time especially when I first started injecting would have made me very unwell. I definitely would have had an upset stomach and been in pain.

I've personally not had a swollen injection site.

Hope you feel better soon!
