Thinking about starting mounjaro/Wegovy

I have already read through lots of threads but I have a few questions please.

Im obese. Thinking about starting mounjaro, I have health anxiety so worried about side effects and also very worried about the cost and if I can afford it.

Is mounjaro the best one? I know Wegovy is cheaper, has anyone had big weight loss on that?

How much is it on a monthly basis? I know there is discount codes, is that only for the first month?

Do you need to be in a very strict calorie deficit every month?

I can’t possibly stay on it long term, I can’t afford it financially. Is it easy to keep the weight off after coming off it?

Look on monj.co.uk for registered pharmacies for Mounjaro, prices, codes/discounts. Some are for first month only, it tells you on the website.

If your calorie deficit will mostly still determine your weight loss, you should have already read in your research how Mounjaro works to help you stay in calorie deficit.

You will only keep the weight off if you have significantly changed your eating habits and lifestyle. Not much different from any other way to lose weight, to maintain the loss you will need to really work at it.

Maintenance of any weight loss was always the point I could never reach. I am fortunate the cheaper lower doses are working for me (some people have no/few positive effects until the higher doses), and I can afford (with some sacrifices) to stay on it longer term.

There's an article in the HateMail today about Mounjaro and mentions other, similar things. Yes I know it is the Mail, I picked it up whilst looking through news headlines, but it is interesting. It mainly concerns fertile women, however there have been previous articles about the drug which gave rise for concern.

I’ve just done my first order, so excited to try! Although I’m worried about the cost but my friend gave me £40 off my order with MedExpress, she’s five stone down and started in October last year. I’ve decided it’s more an investment in myself so whilst it’s expensive it’s going to help me in the long run! AW189 was the code, anyone can use it with them and I’ll probably shop around for my second order! Best of luck!!
