Just to say, I managed my bonus dose without needing to buy needles. I just twisted my pen round to 1 like I was going to break it and it worked. Not sure whether it was a fluke but it worked really well!!

The new design of the pens will not allow this to be done anymore so you got lucky!

My pen is an old one as I had it in the fridge a while
before using it. So I plan to do this. How do you know how much you’ve had though!?

It doesn't always work. I know from personal experience, more than once, that the hard turn will sometimes also totally break the internal plunger mechanism, meaning that you cannot inject using the pen anymore. The plunger no longer moves when you try to inject. So, I just go straight for using a separate syringe.

You won’t know for sure if you manage to force the pen, but the remaining liquid is usually more than a usual dose.
The only way to know this is to use a syringe to extract and inject instead.
A dose is 0.6ml and I usually get between 0.65 and 0.7ml but I’ve heard others manage to get more than this.

I had assumed it was one dose as it turned to one and plunged down the same amount as usual.
