Practical questions about ordering WLI

Hi

I’m on the verge of completing an online prescription form, but I have a few questions about the practicalities of ordering;

  1. i have read about shopping around to get the best deal. What happens if this is a fair amount of time in and your BMI has dropped below the threshold? Can you still shop around or do you need to stay with the same provider at that point?
  2. similarly re “maintenance” - if you’ve reached a healthy BMI, can you still order to assist with maintenance?

thanks

If you can provide evidence of previous orders then another pharmacy should prescribe - not doing it myself as I'm not moving around. I'm happy where I am and do get discounts as a loyal customer and as it has a maintenance option for the future. The cost isn't always the main factor in all of this.

You'll need to go to a place that supports maintenance in advance of reaching it as they'll need to do a consultation beforehand to discuss options. I'm way off that so don't know much about it.

By "threshold" presumably you mean a BMI of 30 (or 27 for certain ethnicities or if you have weight related health issues)? As long as you can show your prescription history, most providers will take you on. Evidence can be a photo of your most recent prescription label on the medication box showing the date, the dose and your name.

If you’ve reached a healthy BMI, can you still order to assist with maintenance?

Most providers will let you continue to order until your BMI reaches a cut off point. There are several providers who will let you continue to order as long as your BMI doesn't fall too low. Have a look on https://monj.co.uk for information about those suppliers.
