So much support and encouragement on here. Can’t wait to hear everyone’s continued achievements and NSVs.

Congratulations to everyone who has reached their goal and starting maintenance, and all the warriors still trekking on.

I still have a couple of stone to go. Feeling motivated and ready to go!

We can do this!

I’m sorry @Mounjaroday- when I have a bad few days I try and remind myself that’s life, and if I have any hope of maintaining this new lifestyle I have to accept the downs as well as the ups. Hang in there!

Have woken up with the most dreadful nausea, thought I was going to vomit in Tesco earlier. It’s either from going up to the 10mg jab yesterday or I’m very coincidentally coming down with something!

usedtobeaylis · 22/07/2025 13:16

My hair is such a riot 😆

It's obviously been falling out at alarming rates, I cannot believe how thin it is now and how sparse my temples and parting are BUT regrowth has already been happening and I've got all these little hairs I'llsticking up from the top of my head. It's more severe than it was after I had a baby that's for sure. I look like worzel gummidge 🤣

I've never been a big fan of my own hair but it was a luxurious mane compared to what it is now so there's a lesson in there!

Interesting to read that many of you are feeling the way I do.
Almost 6 months in, I'm 2st12lbs down, 2 dress sizes smaller but still obese. I had a mini target to be 3st down by my holiday. I go on Monday so I need to lose 2lb this week, which is a big ask at the moment.

My weight loss has slowed right down but it is my fault. Bad habits have crept in and though I rarely eat a full meal, I eat things I wouldn't have at the start and I snack or have pudding. I will go up to 10mg for my next pen. I will also get back into good habits once back from my holiday.

I had a party at the weekend and felt so much happier than I used to. I didn't over-analyse all the photos or hide from the camera. I've never had a party for myself as an adult before as I'd never want the attention on me, but I had a blast! So even though I'm not quite where I want to be, things are looking up.

Now, to lose these pesky 2lbs...

I love this. Glad you had such a good time.

I'm the same with parties especially as I don't currently have any local friends. I actually started to try and meet some new people this weekend. Was nice to think one day I could have some friends locally to invite to a party.

I'm wearing a dress today swishes

Re hair loss, i saw this posted on the daily fail website comments on an article bashing MJ and hair loss. From my investigations so far online, all seems believable. I think i
going to order some

@Mounjaroday I'm sorry work is so rough at the moment. Please take care of yourself.

It absolutely is frustrating being so close to a goal but remember how far you've come and know that you will get there. It doesn't lessen the achievement if it takes you a little bit longer than you wanted. Especially when you've been under a lot of stress. You'll do it. You've got this!

Mounjaroday · 22/07/2025 08:57

Been a bit quiet these past few days. Having an awful time at work - a big project has gone completely tits up - and just been feeling very down.

Also have not lost anything at all these past couple of weeks. Frustrating being so close to a healthy BMI and struggling to get there. It’s literally 2.5kg is all I need but it seems impossible right now!

SW 103.9kg / 16.4stone
CW 74.7kg / 11.8 stone

TW 72.2kg (healthy BMI)
Dream weight 68kg

Well done on everyone’s hard work and perseverance.

Sorry to hear about work. Seems to be something in the air at the moment.

Also my scale is also continuing to bounce around the low 70.xs. It will give up at some point. Must be a global conspiracy by our scales...

usedtobeaylis · 22/07/2025 18:17

Talking of work - I know people are viewing social events differently as they lose weight but is anyone viewing work differently? I think it speaks to that idea that fat people are worth less as I think I have internalised that a lot even though I would never treat anyone else differently. I feel like my confidence is returning and along with that I want more from my working life. Suddenly I feel a bit dissatisfied.

skyscrapersinging · 22/07/2025 20:25

I feel a bit mean for posting a gloaty post, cos I’ve seen a few of you lovely people struggling this week.

SW- 89.2kg / 14 stone 1lb
CW - 69.6kg / 10 stone 13lb
GW - 69.2kg (20kg loss)

Triple win today- 3 stone loss reached, made it under 70kg and also into the 10 stones (just!). And that was after a week on hols. Walked early every morning for an hour before anyone else was up, then went to beach on the way back and had a dip. Ate like a “normal” person, had the occasional drink/cake/ice cream, but didn’t eat myself sick like I have in the past. So happy. Goal weight within sight, probably get there some time next week.

sweetpickle2 · 22/07/2025 20:49

Well done @skyscrapersinging! I can’t speak for others but I like reading other people’s wins when I’m having a bad week, it gives me a boost and also reminds me that there are bad weeks but good ones too!

Going up 10mg has really hit me hard- full nausea all day and not hungry at all. Picked up some new protein powder just now so tomorrow I can make sure I’m having some smoothies if nothing else to get my calories and protein in, I don’t want to consume nothing at all.

HoratioBum · 23/07/2025 08:19

Hi @Febnewbie - not bad now thanks , the arse dropped out of me for best part of 7 days or so and then just stopped and I was completely constipated for about 3 days.
Back to a semblance of normality now - I’ve got IBS too and so occasionally have a few days of loose stools with no particular trigger other than stress. When I was away for a week in Greece I ate no differently to back home ( in fact probably more alcohol!) but yet my poops were glorious. Which makes me think stress is a real trigger for me too.

im about to start month 3 of 10mg. Weight loss is averaging about a pound a week over time but has definitely slowed down in the past month to maybe half a pound per week.

It’s not the end of the world, because I’m operating well on 10mg in that I’m not thinking about food most of the time. I’m going to KOKO on this dose until I feel that my suppression drops and then I’ll think about 12.5.

WoolerOwl · 23/07/2025 08:55

I like reading other people's victories too! Especially at this point where the loss is slower than it was, and the victories feel fewer and more spaced out. It reminds me that the overall direction of travel is down, even if it's not always obvious.

When I think now about how much I lost in the first month - about 8kg! Probably mainly water (and not wearing the heavy shoes I'd had on at the first pharmacy weigh in). Now it creeps down. Average over five months is about a kg a week, but definitely much less in recent weeks. But I can keep on keeping on too.

WoolerOwl · 23/07/2025 08:56

PS I am having a personal trainer consultation on Friday with a view to doing two sessions a week for three months, until we move house and out of area. I hope that will change things up a bit to help me get the last 8kg off, and make me stronger.

WoolerOwl · 23/07/2025 11:09

Bored in a Zoom meeting, but with my camera off (I hope!) I just did my waist to height ratio on the NHS site. I am 173cm and my waist is now 89cm. So the ratio is now 0.51. Just a tiny amount to go to get under the magic 0.5. It's not all about the scales. (Though my next target is one kg away before holiday at the beginning of August)

narkyspirit · 23/07/2025 15:02

Time for a quick update, I have done 1x 2.5mg, 2x 5mg and 2x7.5mg pens (last dose due on Friday) Moving up to 10mg with next pen due at the end of the week. whilst its tempting to use the bonus 'dose' to up to 10 this week I'm away with work early next week and don't want to chance a dose of the '💩' early in the week😅

I'm a little disappointed with my second 7.5 pen as in the last 3 weeks I have only dropped 1.2 kg hence the jump to 10mg. diet has stayed similar and gym has been a little less due to work commitments and no PT sessions as ive been away with work for a few days each week.

SW 95.9 BMI 37
CW 79.9 BMI 30.8 ( weigh in day should be Saturday rather than today so may be there will be a bitt coming off still)

TL 16 kg (2.5 stone) which is quite a chunk but I had hoped to be at least into the overweight BMI rather than Obese BMI, another 2.5 KG to go for that!!

Maybe its time to start properly counting those calories rather than just halving portion size and fasting 🙄

PurpleCoo · 23/07/2025 18:10

It seems like a lot of us are stagnating at the moment, regardless of what does we are on. I wonder if it's more a sort of 5 month plateau thing, rather than just a coincidence so many of us are sticking at the same time.

I have ordered 7.5mg for my next pen. It doesn't feel like it has stopped working entirely though. I am maybe slightly more hungry, say an extra 200 calories sorts it. I keep picking at the grapes in my fridge, and I'm batch cooking loads of lentil based lunches, so it's not like I suddenly want to eat cake or fatty food. Indeed, I saw some donuts in the supermarket last night and the thought of them made me feel ill. I seem to have put on half of the 1kg I lost last week, so it looks as though my monthly loss will only be 1-2kg if I am lucky.

FunnyCrabDance · 23/07/2025 18:29

Well my bonus dose of 7.5 on monday, which was just under 10mg in the end, is absolutely kicking my arse 😩
I couldnt even finish half my normal breakfast this morning which is unheard off and has made me feel quite urghh all day. However, if it kickstarts a proper loss again I'll be contented.
There definitely does seem to be a group lull in weighloss at this stage

Zibb · 23/07/2025 19:05

I am definitely stagnating. I'm so tired all of the time, I'm finding it difficult to be motivated and to exercise. I don't feel great if I eat less than 1500 calories a day so I really need to exercise as my TDEE is about 1700. But I'm exhausted so I don't do it. Ugh. :( Feel stuck and a bit lost tbh.

Not sure if you are after advice but if you are, what is the your carb intake like?

I find it really interesting and also a bit of a relief to know other bodies are reacting the same way.

Today is day 10 of my 3rd 1.5mg jab. I was going to jab today but I'm aiming to go to 12 or 14 days. Shall see how I go. 🙏

viktoria · 23/07/2025 23:02

I am close to hitting my Healthy BMI. Which is amazing and I'm very happy! But I'm also unsure what happens next.
Can you continue getting a prescription?
Do you take lower doses? (I've been on 7.5 for 4 months now)
I definitely do not want to put the weight back on.

usedtobeaylis · 24/07/2025 01:08

A wee NSV this evening - I've got this hoodie that I wear all the time, it's a men's L and when I got home I realised for the first time that it was completely drowning me 😅 It's halfway down my thighs and the neck looks like my kid has been hanging from it. It looked absolutely terrible 😬

Zibb · 24/07/2025 07:27

Nomoretopswithblacktrousers · 23/07/2025 20:28

Always appreciate advice! It's not terrible but not great either. I don't hit the goal that nutracheck gives me very often because I'm focused on protein and fibre. But I'm not low carb on purpose.

Do you think it would make a difference if I ate more?

WoolerOwl · 24/07/2025 07:35

Monthly weigh in: 3kg lost this month. Better than I thought it would be, after a little whoosh in the last few days.

I’ve posted all the amounts below. Definitely a bit slower recently but perfectly adequate and sensible. I think the May reading is unevenly less because that’s when I had the dodgy scales. The first month wasn’t really 8kg, but I was fully clothed with heavy shoes to weigh then at the pharmacy, and the rest are without and first thing in the morning.

26 Feb, 100kg
26 March 92kg
24 April 87kg
24 May 84.8kg
26 June 79.8kg
25 July 76.8kg

BMI now 25.7.

8kg left to lose.

usedtobeaylis · 24/07/2025 09:33

@Zibb do you mean your TDEE is 1700 before any calorie deficit is applied? That's tough going as I couldn't eat under 1500 calories either. My sedentary TDEE is now down to 1800 so my room for a calorie deficit is also getting smaller - but I think that's to be expected as you lose more weight and get slightly closer to something you will want to maintain.

Have you checked your TDEE with just light exercise? 1-2 times a week would just be a decent walk or even a dance workout but those extra 200 calories could make all the difference. I find exercising first thing in the morning then best option for me, just get up and do it before I think about it, otherwise I've got a tendency to talk myself out of it and pretend I'll do it tomorrow instead.
