MJ week 1 - what to expect

SW: 13st 6lbs (have been actively trying to lose weight and have got this down from 14st in January)

BMI is 32, would love to get it under 30 asap, and then eventually work towards 25.

1st pen is currently in the fridge. Planning on taking it today - what time is best? Evening?

what can I expect over the next month? Will I lose much? Or does 2.5 not tend to do much?

It really doesn't matter with time, I've done evenings for months, mornings, afternoons etc it takes me around 3 days to feel the full effect so it's not instant. For some they feel it quicker and some within hours. It all depends how you respond and you won't know until you've injected your first one. Evening might be better though starting off cos at least you can sleep after rather than worrying all day and looking for side effects.
Some users don't even notice any difference until higher doses so again it's individual.
As for loss, again individual, some lose, some maintain, some gain, it all varies and depends on your body and calorie intake and activity. Also if you have inflammation you may see losses in water from reduced water retention.
Best not to worry about the future and details, go for it and try to eat cleaner, more protein and drink plenty of water to minimise any food related side effects. For better losses try to calculate your calorie deficit using an online tdee calculator and track food so you know your intake.
I've been on it almost 8 months at 15mg now and still barely any side effects, twice GI issues food related other than just cold and tired due to low calorie intake. I started off at bmi 32.4 I'm now 26.2 so it is life changing, especially as i was prediabetic. Don't have any expectations of time etc as everyone is so different.

Just to give another view, my first week was horrendous, with diarrhoea leaking out of me - soiled bedsheets and sofa throw.

I can't take the full amount so only have half dose (on advice of pharmacist).

Just echoing pp as everyone's experience is different. Good luck

I’ve been on it for four weeks and no side effects other than constipation and feeling cold for a couple of days after injection. Also burps. All common but easy to cope with. Am moving up to the slightly higher dose next week. Everyone is different as to their tolerance etc.

berfy. that sounds horrible for you. I hope it gets better going forward or you decide it’s just not for you.

@MJdiaries the trick with Mounjaro is to have no expectations!!

Everybody responds differently. You could lose a stone in your first month. You could lose nothing. You could have side effects. You could feel no different at all.

You really cannot know how your body will respond until you are further along the path and, even then, it can throw you some curve balls!

Good luck!

I took mine in the evening and was pleasantly surprised the next day to feel full half way through my lunch! Didn't expect that so soon but it's been good

@friendlycat I'm taking 1.25 a week now, which gives good suppression for 6 says and only side effects a few sulphurous burps.

So odd how we have such different experiences of it.

Ive had barely any affects - good or bad. Everyone is different. And what you lose varies too. You still have to make a lot of effort and plan what you eat.
