Bonus dose amount

Hello,

I am going to be taking the bonus dose of my 5mg Mounjaro pen today, but I am wanting to move up to a 6.25mg dose. When I syringe the medication out, am I correct in thinking that I need to try and withdraw 0.7ml?

Also, my new 7.5mg pen should be arriving in the next couple of days, does anyone know how many clicks of the pen equates to a 6.25mg dose please?

I don't think your syringe calculation is quite right - a dose from a pen is .6ml, so to get 6.25 from a pen you need one and a half doses so .9ml I believe.

6.25 from a 7.5 would be 50 clicks I think.

Hi @SevernWonders, thanks for your reply. Maths and calculations have evidently never been one of my strong points! When I was trying to work it out I understood that one dose of 5mg is 0.6ml so half of this 2.5mg is 0.3ml, so 7.5mg would be 0.9ml, so perhaps 0.75ml is 6.25mg.

I’m sure a while back I stumbled across a click chart on here, wish I had taken a screenshot and saved it now!

0.75ml is 6.25mg from a 5mg pen.

A full dose from any pen is 0.6ml regardless of the strength. So 0.6ml from a 5mg pen is a full 5mg dose.

If you want 6.25mg from a 5mg pen, that’s one and quarter of a full dose i.e. 5 x 1.25 = 6.25.

So you also increase the 0.6ml by 1.25, i.e. 0.6 x 1.25 = 0.75ml.

So, 0.75ml from a 5mg pen would be a dose of 6.25mg.

Please check my maths and my reasoning!

Thanks everyone. I’ve just done it now, but by the time I had primed my syringe I had just a little bit over 0.7ml left, not quite 0.75ml. Hoping I get a better suppression from this!
