PCOS Mounjaro NHS

Hi.
I’m trying to fathom the best route. I have PCOS and have struggled with weight my entire life. Yoyo’d through life from one extreme diet to another. Took Metformin for a year when TTC and lost a few stone through extreme Low GI diet and exercise. Couldn’t do that now as two small people running me ragged. I’m going to GP next week to discuss my weight issues. My BMI is over 35 so classed delightfully as obese so wondering what I can access on NHS. Has anyone got Mounjaro on NHS? And how did it happen/ how long did it take? Am I best to combine with Met? Met gave me constant nausea when I was on it! Or should I just pay for it?
I need to loose 4 stone. I can absolutely give it my all - eating well and exercising if it actually gets me somewhere. Late 40s now tho so nothing works anymore ☹️ Any intel greatfully received

Getting weight loss jabs on the NHS can only be done through the specialist weight management clinic - waitlist of 2-3 years at this point in England. And you need to have at least one weight-related health condition (apart from a BMI over 30). I'm getting mine through juniper - it's £189 a month and it gets delivered to you and there's an app and dietitians and stuff.

Do not combine metformin and mounjaro. It will make your blood sugars dangerously low and you feel very ill.
Ask me how I know 😒

Little (no!) hope of getting it through the NHS I'm afraid. In my area (not sure if it's the same everywhere) it's bmi over 40 with FOUR combines and they're specified and limited!

Just get on monj.co.uk and have a read then pick a supplier and get started. Good luck!!

You won't get it on the NHS, I'm afraid. Discuss with your GP as planned (especially any contraindications with metformin) and then plan to access privately if you are able to fund this. Use monj.co.uk for price comparison.

The nhs are currently prescribing mounjaro to diabetics when other medication don't work first. With obesity only, its usually as others said tiered weight management and a long wait and trying other methods or medications first.
Try www.monj.co.uk for regulated pharmacy comparison with discount codes on right side of table. They have a discounted and standard price list to check prices after the first discounted pen.
I'd recommend pillsorted and oushk for their service. Oushk also provide support with consultations and you can select your delivery date.
