Was thinking this through over the last few days and I was think gosh I can’t wait until I can sit with my legs crossed easily or not feel so much underarm fat when shaving!

Sounds simple but was it was inspiring me to keep going and I thought maybe there’s other things we can look forward to other than the fitting into clothes/ feeling more positive about how we look.

Help inspire me ! what are you looking forward to being able to do or feel?
or for those further long with your progress what have been the surprising benefits you’ve noticed?

Two more things:

  1. I want to wear a pair of vintage Levi's that I bought two years ago in New York.
  2. Never needing to move my tummy out of the way when getting a brazilian wax.

Ah I am absolutely loving all of these everyone!!! Well done, what fantastic feelings of all the highs and I’m sure you feel like it’s been well worth it, I’m so impressed with everyone and very happy for you all and the triumphs!

I’ve lost the weight this year (50 pounds down and now 9 stone 7 thanks to Mounjaro). What I have loved is being able to wear short denim shorts all summer and be proud of my slim legs, to have lost my hideous back hamsters that bulged out of my bra, to have slightly smaller boobs, to be wearing slim fitting gym gear rather than baggy stuff, to be wearing size 10 clothes again and to not be embarrassed when I see photos of myself! My son graduated last summer and I deleted every photo with me in it. ☹️

AnneElliott · 25/08/2025 18:07

Definitely wearing old clothes that haven’t fitted in 20 years. Only problem is some of them are now too big!

Also riding a horse - first thing I did when I got to almost goal. And yes to not worrying about sitting in plane or train seats. 6 stone down and now maintaining.

roshi42 · 25/08/2025 18:08

I pony galloped up most of a steep hill with my nephew, while pushing my baby in a pram yesterday. Never could have done that before, really surprised myself. Definitely a big reason I’m doing it - to keep up with the little ones.

discov · 25/08/2025 19:35

Today I wore a pair of shorts with bare legs for the first time since I was a pre-teen, 25 years ago. I’ve been covering up for 25 years! MJ has helped me lose the extra 3.5st I’ve never been able to lose my whole teen/adult life. It feels very liberating.

I have just come back from holiday and it was the best feeling not having to ask for a belt extender on the flight. The last few times we have flown and needed one it has ruined my holiday, I would feel crap on the way there and then spend the holiday dreading the flight home. This time I just sat quietly buzzing that the seat belt fitted with room to spare. Also French cafe seats - last few times we had been to France I would decide against certain cafes and restaurants as the chairs looked tiny. This year I sat comfortably everywhere.

MaybeMrs · 25/08/2025 20:23

I’ve just hit 6 stone loss this week. 12lb more and I’m in ‘normal’ BMI.

My hip has stopped aching 👏

I have collarbones 🤗

The plane seat belt was a big thing for me 😁i used to squeeze myself in as I was too embarrassed to ask for an extender.

I've lost 5 stone so far (another 4 to go). On holiday I realised I'd forgotten to pack a vest top for under a shirt dress, so I just popped into a nearby shop and bought one- no fuss, no frantic hope that they'll have one in my size, it was an incredible feeling.

StartingApril2025 · 06/10/2025 22:28

Hi everyone I thought I’d revisit and see how everyone is doing as I found this such a hopeful inspiring thread!
my weight loss has slowed way down but I’ve now lost 3.5stone and my rings are loose on my fingers and spin! Slightly annoying but hey ho better than super uncomfortable tight that they cut into my finger!
still no sign of my collar bones however
other positives are just being able to feel like I could buy an item of clothing and it may fit, whereas before everything was tight and I probably wasn’t buying the size I needed. I always looked for long baggy tops whereas now I think is this top short enough to tuck INTO my jeans hahah who’d ever believe I’d be doing that! Hope everyone is doing well and you are proud of your successes and triumphs!!

I’m looking forward to being able to walk at my sons wedding without using two walking sticks, my goal is to lose enough weight to have both my knees replaced and then have full mobility again.

Then my nasty ex husband can shove his cruel comment where the son don’t shine - or maybe I’ll shove them there using one of my redundant sticks!

I’ve lost over two stone so far using intermittent fasting but have just begun WLIs to speed up the loss. Only had 4 jabs so far at the low startled dose which has not really had much impact but I’m hoping that as I go to stronger doses, my weight loss journey will gain momentum.

Before anyone says that I should not try to lose too much very quickly, my doctor and the pharmacist I buy from fully support me doing this for a few months, getting my knees done then going back to dieting without the jabs.

Being able to buy new clothes in smaller sizes will be great as well, I’m resisting buying anything just yet so am wearing baggy “tents” until I’m a much thinner, fortunately I have the skills to take things in if necessary.

HereIGoOnceMore · 08/10/2025 08:03

That’s a fabulous goal @Ihateslugsyou will be beautiful inside and out. Your ex, not so much.

Ihateslugs · 08/10/2025 12:16

Just realised how many spelling mistakes there were in my previous post but I think it still makes sense!

HappyWineDay · 08/10/2025 12:50

@StartingApril2025 "now lost 3.5stone and my rings are loose on my fingers and spin! Slightly annoying but hey ho better than super uncomfortable tight that they cut into my finger!"
I have the same problem but use little sticky pads on my rings which have worked a treat, something like this -

Ring Size Adjuster Loose Rings Invisible Reducer Jewelry Guard Sizer Tightener, Fitter, Reducer for Wide Rings, Multiple Resizer-6 Sheets /234 Pcs (Transparent, Gray,Skin) : Amazon.co.uk: Fashion

(Kept having to edit that as I couldn't get the link to post)

I’ve lost 2 stone and have another 3 to go. Even at the midpoint, I’m dressing differently (fitted clothes instead of shapeless cover ups) and I’m taking an active interest in my appearance. I even had my nails done recently and that’s something I wouldn’t have done before because I was so ashamed of my body, I believed I didn’t ‘deserve’ it. Excess weight can really mess with your head.

As for the next 3 stone till I get to target - I think I’m most looking forward to just feeling ‘normal’, like I blend in. I’d also really like to wear a tshirt tucked into trousers - something I’ve never done before.

It’s so odd, when I was fat my clothes were much more close fitting, stretchy, black, leggings etc, because when I wore big baggy stuff I looked even bigger, tent like. Now I’m slim, my clothes are much looser, wide leg trousers, slouchy jumpers etc, although I do like a close fitting top with wide leg trousers If going out. So I went the opposite way. I can now wear these things and they look like they should, where as before if I wore wide leg trousers and a slouchy jumper I I looked like some lumbering beast, in my own head.

Elliebearblues · 10/10/2025 08:05

I’m at the start of my journey but I’d love to feel happy in myself and not just opt to wear leggings and baggy t-shirts because I feel fat in everything else. I’d love to look in the mirror and see a reflection I actually like xx

HeavyHeidi · 10/10/2025 08:16

clothes, it's so much easier to look stylish when slim. When I was heavy then anything tight and I looked like a sausage. Anything loose fitting and looked like a haystack. When slim, can wear a potato sack and still look great. Love it.

ShrankLastWinter · 10/10/2025 08:29

@Elliebearblues you’ll get there! Good luck with your journey.

I started mounjaro to get my hip replaced.
Lost about 3 stone on my own then another 5 and a half with mounjaro’s assistance.
Hasn’t helped my pain at all since I have end stage bone on bone but now my bmi (which was 46 to start) is 27 I am finally awaiting my surgery.
Very good luck to you!

ShrankLastWinter · 10/10/2025 09:27
