Anyone had these symptoms on Mounjaro and swapped to another medication ?

Hi I took 3 months researching weightloss jabs as I have health anxiety - I’ve had late pregnancy loss to sepsis - 11 blood transfusions, I had DCIS breast cancer & I’ve PCOD fibromyalgia ibs d

i ordered off SheMed as they do blood tests and strict ordering process I read. I took 2.5mg mounjaro on 2/5 and instantly I had bitter taste in my throat then 10 minutes after my throat felt like I couldn’t swallow well,
I had to keep drinking water- I was anxious when I injected myself as horror stories so maybe it was anxiety but I couldn’t eat I had soup but was a struggle -
Next morning I woke up and in agony, my neck shoulder arms were reallly painful, my lymph node under my chin was really swollen and I couldn’t touch it as the pain was terrible.

after 6 hours all the symptoms disappeared except I didn’t want to eat everything made me really full and feel sick.

Lost 8.5 lbs in 10 days

It worked but did I have an allergic reaction ? SheMed were awful never got back to me until 6 days later then tried to make out I had to pay another months pen in the end they said I owed nothing - I had 3 weeks left and binned them.

Has anyone had anything like this and tried another medication - waygovy is the same medication - wondered if ompezic is different or should I not try again ? I’m a bmi 35 now and need 50lbs off

Thankyou x

It could have been the stress and anxiety of the horror stories you read manifesting, especially if it went after 6hrs. If it was mounjaro related and symptoms it would definitely have lasted a lot longer as it stays in your system for 30 days with a half life of 5 days. I've had stress and anxiety and had it manifest physically in many ways. If you still had the pen you could have used it again but it's gone now and let's face it, after the reaction previously you would probably be stressed and anxious again, maybe even worse so likely to react in some way.
Wegovy is different to mounjaro as its semaglutide so targets less receptors, but you won't know unless you try and would need to be in a calm frame of mind. Can you take anything for anxiety? Even herbal like ashwagandha or CBD etc

It definitely sounds more anxiety based than a reaction to the injection itself, although there are some reports of people being achey and with flu like symptoms after their first jab.

Wegovy IS Ozempic and is NOT the same medication as Mounjaro. I think if you were to try again, on whichever medication, I would suggest going through a local independent pharmacy where you can talk to the pharmacist and have face to face time to help alleviate your anxiety. Even Boots would give you the chance to actually see someone!

@IReallyNeedThisToWork
thankyou appreciate your reply

@Histoscientist
thankyou appreciate your reply - was the swollen lymph node that was a concern and the not being able to swallow hardly - I was very anxious once I started to inject myself.

I’ve contacted my GP surgery but going to my local pharmacy is a good idea I’ve one 2 minutes walk away. Thankyou
