Desperately need to lose weight, think my metabolism has virtually stopped since going through the menopause. Anyone else experienced this? Thinking of trying mounjaro, anyone had their doctors surgery contact them as you have to list your doctor when you order. ?

They will only contact the pharmacy if they have concerns, otherwise it just goes on your records! Been on it 3 weeks and down 12.8lbs already. Game changer xx

No contact from doctor here. Gor for it. MJ has been great for me so far although I’m only 2 weeks in. Worth a try?

Doggymummar · 22/05/2025 17:56

I've been on it for two years and I had one text message from my doctor that said well done for sorting out your blood sugar and NAFLD your are doing so well.

SilenceInside · 22/05/2025 18:25

GPs are just being notified, not asked for their input. I suppose they’d only contact the online pharmacy if there was an issue, like the person clearly not being obese. Each time I order, the online pharmacy sends a letter to my GP surgery, which gets uploaded on to my NHS record which I can see via the NHS app.

No your GP surgery won’t contact you. They will however contact your pharmacist if you give details on the form that don’t match or omit important details from that on your medical records

Yes complete stand still. I've 38lbs in 15 weeks on MJ. Stopped my sweating too and brain fog isn't quite as bad! I pay privately with Medexpress

A GP I have seen at specialist clinic every discretly said to me out and about the other day that she needed to change my meds as the advice for someone on MJ has changed. She was very supportive of my use of MJ.

If you’re on medication it may need reviewing.

GlitchStitch · 22/05/2025 19:19

I haven't heard from my GP and I've been on it since January. Each month I have to do a review with my prescriber to say if I've had any changes to medication or new conditions. I assume they would only get involved if I give wrong information.

Decided to give it a go although my photo I sent in wasn’t accepted. Will have to send another once I get home from the bank holiday. Struggle taking them myself so may have to get my husband to take it 🤦‍♀️ . Thank you to everyone who replied, you helped me make up my mind!
