When do you order new pen

Just curious really.

When do you order your next pen?

I've been doing it as i do the third dose ( I use 5 doses per pen) so I know if I want to go up etc. but I'm debating treating it like another monthly cost almost like a direct debit and ordering for example the 1st of every month then I know it's paid for for the month (5 weeks).

I'm hoping to swap supplier each month if that makes a difference.

Been with Asda for 2 months and medexpress 1 month

MedExpress allow orders every 2 weeks so I did that for a few months and now I just order monthly as I have a stockpile for if MedExpress have delays.

I order after payday ASAP at the start of each month waiting on discount codes to be reissued.
& I use the bonus dose.

Yes @Redlightbulb this is what I'm thinking, if it treat it just like another direct debit and get it asap after payday each month it's done and dusted for the month then. But do you end up with a bit of a backlog?

@Fatmumslim01
Just the 1 pen as have only got into this routine the last 4-5 months. I switched providers a few times before getting into the rhythm.

I think If using the bonus dose it would take 4 months to get a backlog of 1 full pen in the fridge at all times if ordering every 4 weeks.

I do exactly what you mention and order it as soon as I get paid. I tend to be about a month ahead so that is the only issue

I last ordered 25/4, I have 2 more doses (this week and next week) of my previous pen then I'll move onto that pen. I'll order this months pen on Friday. The pens in my fridge are both 10mg and by the time I finish these I'll have done 15 injections at 10mg so I always have a bit of a debate with myself about whether I should stick or go up a dose as I won't start the pen I order on Friday until 10th July.

@WafflingDreamer I suppose it's easier when you know you have been and will be on the same dose for a while. I'm only in my 3rd month so still moving up but hopefully staying on 5mg for a while mainly due to cost plus it seems to be working well at the moment

I am sometimes a bit naughty & order the next dose up anyway as the cost difference is often negligible & then count the clicks if I find that I want a lower dose in the pen. Any extra left in the pen can go towards a future dose.
But the manufacturer & pharmacy would say this is misusing the medication.
You have to be confident in what you are doing so I don't recommend it.
Do so at your own risk.
