Two questions!

Hello, I have two Mounjaro-related questions.

  1. I started nine weeks go - weight was 94.9kg. I have lost exactly 10kg as of this morning. Does this sound like a decent loss? No one in my workplace has noticed or said anything which, although it shouldn't matter, bothers me a bit...then again, they see me everyday so maybe that makes it harder? I'm on 5mg (my endicronologist keeps you on 5mg for two months).
  2. I usually inject on Saturdays. However, I am due to travel in a couple of weeks and I'd rather not have to take the pen with me and have to keep it cold etc as I'll be moving about. Would it be a bad idea to inject Friday evening instead, meaning I can leave the pen at home? Thank you so much!!

  1. it can take time for people to notice. I was at goal before anyone said anything. Sometimes I think people don’t like to comment on weight as they may come across rude.
  2. Absolutely fine. I work nights so switch the days sometimes if it doesn’t work for me. As long as it’s on a day, that shouldn’t cause any issues

And well done! 10kg is fabulous

  1. I have lost over 8 stone, look very noticeably different and my work colleagues have not said a thing. But they also didn’t mention it when I put on all that weight, and I am glad they haven’t said anything as I don’t really want to discuss it. People will notice but most won’t say anything.
  2. Yes, it’s fine to move the day if necessary. I’ve done exactly that for holidays and will do so again this summer too.

Congratulations on losing the 10kg loss, that’s more than 2lbs a week on average which is a bit more than you would expect.

@SilenceInside thank you so much! Your message has actually made me well up - I am so glad to be losing weight.
Great re injecting one day earlier - thank you for confirming.
Over 8 stone - WOW - that is absolutely phenomenal.

@UpUpUpU thank you!!! You are right about people maybe not wanting to comment on something so personal.

No one has commented on my 7 stone yet. I aim to lose a pound a week as that feels right for me. Have a great holiday.

No worries, happy to help! The great thing about Mounjaro is that it enables you to just keep going and then time passes and the weight just keeps dropping off.

untilido · 17/05/2025 11:14

You don’t have to keep the pen cold so if you would prefer to stick to your usual day just take it with you.

InfoSecInTheCity · 17/05/2025 11:28

You are losing on average over 1kg a week which is about 3lb so it’s a lot of loss and I would expect that to slow down over time, just to set a realistic expectation.

people are wary of mentioning weight, I’ve lost 30kg and people have only just started mentioning it. Also what you will find it that it takes a lot of weight at first to make a small difference but then as you get smaller you’ll notice it more regularly. Like with a roll of kitchen towel, with a full roll 1 sheet being removed is unnoticeable bit as the roll gets smaller 1 sheet makes a bigger difference.

I keep my pen in the fridge all the time just because it’s a convenient place to keep it, once you’ve started the pen you can store it anywhere as long as it’s not very hot like above a radiator or on a windowsill in full light.

Mind blown! I didn’t know this.

The kitchen roll analogy is so right!

Yes, it just has to be in the fridge before it's first used.

WeAllHaveWings · 17/05/2025 13:43

I have lost 7st and had my first work comment this week. A male colleague from India saw me on camera in a zoom meeting room and pinged me with "Wings you have lost the weight!" 😳 (seemingly, according to google, it is more socially acceptable in India to comment factually about physical appearance!)

Other colleagues have obviously noticed, they couldn't not notice I have lost 1/3 of my body weight! They are being polite and respectful. I prefer no comment.

Itscoldouthere · 17/05/2025 14:10

Most people are too polite to say anything, most say, you are looking really well.
My friends who are nurses are more direct, asking how having you lost weight, meaning are you on MJ 🤣
Or my sister who keeps calling me skinny, I’m not skinny and she doesn’t know I take MJ.
Weight loss is such a complex subject.
Congratulation on your journey you are doing very well

A third of your body weight - my gosh. Have you had to buy a whole new wardrobe?

Complex indeed.
Thank you and good luck on your own journey!
