Help!
I don’t know what I’m doing incorrectly , but I have not lost any weight whatsoever in the 8 weeks of using Ozempic
I am eating far less than I used to, for example 2 small pieces of chicken with salad as apposed to a chicken breast with salad, not drinking milk or using sugar, have had a lot of nausea and was very sick for two days where I couldn’t leave the house in case I vomited. Feel bloated and nauseous particularly in the evenings

Can you ask your prescriber about this? I'm wondering why you've been prescribed Ozempic rather than Wegovy, which is what is available in the UK for weight loss. Are you not in the UK?

AlorsTimeForWine · 16/05/2025 11:44

2 months is a long time is it literally nothing
Or is it small? Can you share your weight tracking and what you eat in a day?

untilido · 16/05/2025 11:46

How many calories? Ozempic won’t prevent weight loss, it would help support you to eat a proper healthy diet, consistently.

BreezyBlock · 16/05/2025 11:47

Did you get it through official channels? Was watching something last night where people bought it online and it was fake

RhannionKPSS · 17/05/2025 15:28

I bought it outside outside of the U.K. when we were on holiday , prescribed by a private doctor and supplied by a proper chemist.

What dose are you on now? Presumably you bought multiple pens if you've been on it for 8 weeks now. I think Ozempic starts at 0.5mg, then moves up to 0.5, then 1 and the largest dose is 2mg.

What is your BMI, your TDEE/BMR and how much of a calorie deficit are you in?

How are your finding the medication - is it helping you stop snacking, control portions and keep to your calorie deficit?

If you are not tracking calories, every sauce, oil, drink I would do this for a couple of weeks to get some ideas why you are not losing.

My friend is getting ozempic free on prescription from his dr and he lives in the UK!

Edited

I would hope not licensed in the UK for weight loss. There are other licensed drugs avaliable.

OP, are you tracking calories? How many are you having a day? How many g of protein? How much water are you drinking? Have you gone up a dose?

dustydvd · 17/05/2025 16:18

I had Ozempic (overweight diabetic) and it didn’t help with weight loss but did sort out my blood sugars, which is what it was originally prescribed for .

SilenceInside · 17/05/2025 16:41

@VivIsBlonde it will be to control your friend’s diabetes, not for weight loss, if it’s a UK doctor prescribing it.

CordeliaChaste · 17/05/2025 16:43

How did you buy multiple pens abroad and bring them home? They need to be kept in the fridge.

RhannionKPSS · 17/05/2025 16:54

Short flight, cold box to carry them

If we put aside the fact that it’s Ozempic and not Wegovy, the only way you’ll know exactly what’s happening is to track your calories for a week, weighing and measuring everything as precisely as you can. Then compare that to your TDEE and see if you are consistently below it. You need to be 500 calories under every day to lose a pound or so in a week.

AmateurNoun · 17/05/2025 19:35

Why did you buy them abroad? Do tell me if I am wrong but is it that you are not obese and the criteria for prescriptions are different in other countries?

I just ask because almost everyone on this board is/was obese so might have very different experiences if that were the case.
