Monjarou second week craving a burger

Hiya.

I'm due to do my 3rd jab tomorrow, I haven't wanted food really untill this evening and I'm really craving a burger and chips. To the point I'm all moody and could cry over it 😂😂 I have lost 11lbs already so I don't really want to go and order one.

And to be honest not really sure my point of this post except my husband doesn't understand and thinks I'm stupid for getting upset over a burger - which he is probably right 😂

Anyone else craved foods on the jab?

If you want a burger, have a burger!

You might find you can’t finish it, but if you’re ok with that and your diet is otherwise healthy, I say go for it.

Perfectly normal to still have cravings on MJ.

Do you take it?
Where do you get yours from. If you do??

I use med express - my friends watching it news about jabs and is now. Telling me they said med express is a fake pharmacy.

One occasional burger won't undo your progress.

If it becomes a habit you need to think of how to feed the cravings in another way - homemade healthy burgers, mini burgers/kids meal, swap it for something else healthier and see if it mutes the craving.

Finallydoingit24 · 15/05/2025 20:53

MedExpress is not a fake pharmacy. I don’t think they are the most ethical of places due to their system of discount codes to recruit new members but they are not fake.
Eat a burger if you want one.

Im feeling similar in my 2nd week. Third jab tomorrow morning. Have really struggled with little suppression and cravings for the last 4 days. I've resisted most temptations, but it's definitely harder than week 1. Hope my 3rd jab will help s little again

MrsSkylerWhite · 15/05/2025 20:57

Have a burger.

Personally, I’d order a double cheeseburger and throw the bun away. The burger and cheese are the best bits (nutritionally and calorifically).

IsThisLifeNow · 15/05/2025 21:01

Have a burger, you'll probably find that you cant finish a full one anyway. I am taking MJ, almost 50kg lost in a year and still eat burgers chips and pizza.

Sounds awful, but I don't eat all of them in 1 sitting and dont eat them all the time. I only have say 2 slices of pizza instead of 7, and only a few chips instead of a full large portion. Any food in moderation as part of a balanced diet is fine

Med express is fine btw, not fake at all

Cafog · 15/05/2025 21:01

Have the burger. I've just finished a good quality one off the bbq with a cheese slice and salad. Nice bit of protein and satisfied me for dinner. On MJ 9 weeks and 19lb down.

morbidcuriosity · 15/05/2025 21:09

Another vote for Have the Burger.. I would
But dont get a double and large cheesy chips and all the extras!!

Previous Mounjaro I would of had a double cheese burger, large cheesy chips and maybe some jalapeno poppers and eat it all, then probably chocolate after! no wonder why i was obese..

Now I would just get myself a small burger and small chips if its what you are really wanting! it wont undo all your hard work, you can also have a major clean eating day the next day if you feel you need to..

Thanks, I am having one. I've been so good these last few weeks not even fizzy and I was drinking about 8 cans a day. I just watch everyone else stuff their faces with chocolate and crisps and chips and everything good 😂😂

Fingers crossed for you. Last week by Friday afternoon I was feeling. Hungry but when I jabbed again it went away. Good luck on your journey x

It's only food. You need to normalise it. Thinking you can't eat a burger when you want one is where disordered eating starts. Just don't have lots of them, or have one too often. There's a whole mindset shift you need to work on around how you think of food. Also, there's nothing wrong with feeling hungry, it's how you respond to it that's important.

spoonbillstretford · 16/05/2025 06:43

I've had a takeaway every Friday and have lost 19lbs so far. Have the burger and less somewhere else.

Mirroar · 16/05/2025 06:47

Part of changing your relationship with food is not thinking like this. Banning foods isn't sustainable, but adjusting how you respond to cravings is key. Bit late now as you've had one, but in future if you really want one make one or get a decent quality one (aldi do some frozen burgers that are 98% beef and the 2% is salt rather than many others which have all sorts in) and have a small portion of chips.

BarneyOreilly · 16/05/2025 19:04

Generally I eat whatever I like, because I find I can’t finish it anyway. I don’t crave tons of things like burgers/ pizza etc but every couple of weeks we may have a takeaway or go out and sometimes I have a burger and sometimes I have a salad- still losing weight!

Fffreeeeezing · 16/05/2025 22:01

I just had Sainsburys skinny burgers with cheese on top, plus air fryer chips and coleslaw- you can definitely have the burger!

Finished week 9 today with a 2st4lb loss and today is not the first time in the last 9 weeks I have eaten burgers. 🍔

Rosierambles · 16/05/2025 22:03

I'm like @IsThisLifeNow
I crave stuff and have it but far less e.g. half a shop bought pizza rather than 5 massive slices of dominos. Or a filet of fish but no fries

C080889 · 16/05/2025 22:04

5 months in 3 stone down. My biggest loss was 2 days after craving pizza and chips. In the nicest way I think it pushed out a back log and I dropped about 3kg 🤣

SusanSometimes · 16/05/2025 22:07

I've been on MJ a few weeks now. I found myself craving a burger the other day, so I had one from McDonald's on the way home from work, just a hamburger nothing else. That was dinner, basically, I didn't want or need anything else but it scratched the itch.
