Me! I scroll this forum every day hoping for an Ozempic thread 😁

I'm 5 weeks in and have lost a stone. I have had some suppression but that loss is mainly willpower I think. I’ve finally been able to say no to crisps and chocolate because I want to give the Ozempic the best chance of working!

I've just moved up to the 0.5 dose and have definitely noticed a difference already in suppression. I’ve had no side effects apart from being a little hiccough-y 😆

Are you on Wegovy or proper Ozempic? I just ask as I remember getting confused when an ITV documentary called Wegovy = Ozempic

I was on Wegovy not going above 0.50 (on face to face pharmacist advice) slow and steady wins the game for nearly 3 months losing little more than half a stone. Most weeks I got to say I maintained.

I am. Been on around 3 months and not great losses, maybe 8 pounds overall but I still have high hopes 😅 I'm about to start 1.5 this week.

I’m type 1 diabetic, insulin dependent and next time I see my consultant I’m going to ask to be put ozempic as I’m nearly size 22 and desperate to loose weight which I find really difficult as im
on insulin

Tradersinsnow · 18/05/2025 04:48

Wegovy and ozempic are both semaglutide. The only difference is the amount in the pen and the price.

Hi ! I’ve been on wegovy since last September and have lost nearly 4 stone . ( 13 stone 4lbs starting) I’m very happy with being on it - a few side effects at the beginning but you learn to know what triggers diarrhoea . I’m now on the lowest dose and working out how to maintain . I am accepting that I may need to micro dose for many years . I know the research states it goes back on once you come off it and I’m definitely not going back . I chose wegovy as at the time there was more data on this drug but if I started now I would probably change to mj . Good luck !

I started taking Ozempic about 18 months ago. I lost 4 1/2 stone without to much trouble. Other benefits were great too like no longer needing to go to wee in night 4 times a night. Now once a night. My back is not aching nearly as much when I walk. I no longer fall asleep immediately after eating a meal. I've reached a plateau. I've come off Ozempic for 6 weeks, during which time I've put on a kg. Now I'm back to taking it again. I was told this would trick my body into losing more weight so I'm giving it a go. I still have several stone to lose.

That’s interesting about the weight gain and what I fear/expect . Good luck !

I've been on wegovy since the end January, and have just lost my 10th kg/10% body weight.

I took it quite slowly, 8 weeks on 0.25, 4 weeks on 0.5 and I'm going to keep on 1mg for as long as possible.

Only at 1mg do I notice the huge impact on my appetite. I eat a child's size meal and I'm eaten enough for the day! So it's actually quite hard to maintain fibre and protein intake.

Hi I'm on ozempic just over a year now with 75 pounds lost. I've another 30lb to go to get to my idea weight.
My main advice is to enjoy the journey. Enjoy the lack of food noise, the suppression and the weight loss. Don't over think it

Vatsallfolks · 03/06/2025 19:36

Can I ask .. why are you doing Ozempic when Mounjaro is so much more effective for weight loss . ?

I was 22 stone and pre diabetic on metformin .. Dr put me on MJ and 9 months later I’m a size 10 .. off BP meds/statins/ metformin .. no more knee jabs for the pain of carrying my weight around ..j I really don’t mean to be goady because I e been there and it’s horrible.. just don’t understand why they aren’t putting you in the most effective drug ?

40coats · 16/06/2025 09:37

I started ozempic because wegovy/mounjaro weren't licensed in Ireland at the time. They are now but are extremely expensive.
Realistically I could do with losing at least another stone, ideally two. Currently I'm not losing. I'm not sure whether to bite the bullet and try wegovy/mounjaro but I can't afford those prices long term so I'm considering staying on ozempic and as I've a stockpile increasing my dose to 2mg as long as that'll last and seeing if I can shift at least a stone.
I will need to stay on meds for maintainance which is what's also putting me off the more expensive options.

Well done with your weight loss @Vatsallfolks that's amazing. I'm delighted for you. You must feel like a new person.
